• Puddle's eyes opened slowly, taking in the sight of the den around her. The she-cat let out a yawn and slinked out of her nest, stretching as she went. Drowsiness filled her steps as she padded outside of the den. She took note that many of her tribe hadn't yet awoken - only to remember that many of her tribe weren't among them anymore. The atmosphere around her shifted for a moment as she remembered her mother and her siblings. She believed she could see them sometimes, through half closed eyes, play fighting and watching her even now. Puddle smiled absently as a false glimpse of her kin filled her eyes and made her heart ache.

/ooc: yea, that'd be great. i haven't made a character either of the clans yet but i've been thinking about tbh.

  • ooc: Oh. Well don't feel pressured to. I know it can be stressful dealing with people who reply that fast.

Dahlia emerged from her den, immediately noticing her friend from the other side of the cave. "Goodmorning," she called with a small smile. She looked out at the entrance of the cave and cocked her head slightly, noticing it had frosted over night.

  • Storm into the to-be den, waking fire. "Come, we'll have battle practice today." Fire nods, padding after his mentor as he did. The air outside the cave was freezing cold, good thing the cats were mostly built for such climate.

  • Puddle looked over to the she-cat, returning the smile. "Good morning." She responded, beginning to groom herself as the memories of her kin faded into the back of her mind. Such was regular, she supposed, for someone who had lost so much. For a moment, she wondered if the rest of her tribe was still grieving. Her attention turned to outside, and the frost made her shiver. Puddle had nearly forgotten that the time of frozen water was upon them. Not a good day for hunting, but a day for hunting nevertheless. She prepared herself for a moment to travel into the cold and hopefully bring back a decent catch.

/ooc: yea, i generally avoid busy threads. it feels like i'm sorta missing out here tho. :c

  • Wolf looked to Puddle, understanding her rigorous hunting. "Puddle," he began, "maybe stay in for a bit... it's cold." He was already upset that Storm and Fire had already left for the battle training while it was snowing crazily.

Squirrel looked at the she-cat. "Well," he turned to Wolf. "There is no other job for a prey hunter than to hunt. I supposed you wouldn't understand that, being a cave guard. But, us prey-hunters really know nothing about staying in the cave." He didn't really know if he meant to offend the large tom or not. He just didn't see why he was being so bossy.

I mean there isn't much to be missed right now, tribe wise. Clan wise there is a lot. I do feel like it moved really fast cause I made Poppyclan like a month ago, I think, and it has about 400 replies.

Dahlia cowered away from the argument, becoming silent immediately. She never liked angered confrontation, it made her feel completely awkward. [/fancypost]

  • Puddle hesitated for a moment. "Snow can't be helped. I have an obligation to the tribe." She meowed, her eyes glistening with determination. Prey wouldn't like the snow either, but she had no choice. The she-cat could feel her fur fluffing up already. She padded out of the cave, her paw pads already cold from the snow underfoot. "This won't be well." Puddle thought to herself as she left, leaving the cave behind her until her return.

  • "Well, someone has to look after these cats... and I doubt that Dusk would put you in charge." He snapped, giving Squirrel a dangerous look. Immediately, Breeze emerges from her den. "You two stop... we have just started rebuilding our tribe, fighting now will jeopardize everything Dusk has been working for." She shot squirrel a look and then turned to Wolf. "He is right, prey-hunters do have an obligation to the tribe... just as cave-guards."

Squirrel rolls his eyes at the she-cat and pads out onto the mountainside, cursing Wolf's name. He didn't understand why Breeze would choose Wolf over him. Wolf was so bossy and ambitious. And not to mention that he barely paid her any attention at all. The red cat runs off into the forest, sinking his teeth into several rabbits.

  • The she-cat knew the meadow, with its still blooming flowers, would hold no prey for her today. Mice there made their dens deeper than they had before, likely to counter her. Puddle had to think quickly. She couldn't stand being in the cold, and doubted the prey could either. The prey-hunter's whiskers twitched as she bounded up a rocky slope with tuned ears. She was upwind thankfully, and let out a sigh of relief as her eyes locked onto a rabbit.

/ooc: headcanon that the meadow is filled with winter jasmine of white and yellow colors.

The outside air was cold, luckily her fur was thick and her paws tough. The black she-cat sat at the mouth of the cave and began to wonder about conventional things, such as when she might become a real cave-guard. Upon thinking this, Dahlia began to wonder where Dusk and the two brothers were. They had been gone for two days and she was getting a bit worried.

  • Storm and Fire padded back into the cave, both toms a bit frozen from the outside weather. "It's a bit colder than my liking," commented Fire quietly. Storm nodded at his apprentice and flicked the snow from his paws. He noticed the tension in the air and looked around, trying to investigate the situation.

  • Creeping forward, Puddle watched the rabbit twitch its long ears. She was only a tail-length away now and the poor creature still hadn't caught her scent. The she-cat pounced upon the rabbit and sank her sharp teeth into its neck. It was a large piece of prey that dragged the ground when the she-cat raised it up. Puddle looked around, and finding a rocky outcrop, quickly stashed the rabbit there. A cold breeze made her shiver. The prey-hunter quickly pressed on, eager to find more prey and get back to the cave as soon as possible.

  • Breeze felt awful for Squirrel leaving like that. She knew that it was wrong to yell more so at him than Wolf, who started it in the first place.

  • Puddle found herself staring at another rabbit soon. She crept forward, her eyes narrowed in determination as she stalked towards the mass of brown fur. With a swift leap she dispatched it, and the she-cat gripped its body in her jaws as she padded back to the outcrop. With two rabbits hanging in her mouth by their ears, the prey-hunter began her trek back to the cave with cold paws.
