  • [fancypost bgcolor=;border:0px;width:450px;text-align:justify]He's so young, so helpless. He doesn't know why he is here, what he is doing here, or how he got here. His mother is just a memory, his father is nothing but a dream. He cannot see anything under the blanket. Right now, he is not even two months old, a useless, helpless child in a woven basket. Surrounded by the warmth of the wool. He doesn't know if he has siblings, or if it is safe to open his eyes. What can he even do? Leaving the basket is prohibited, there is danger out there that he does not want to face. Chaoskit envelops himself in the blanket, wiggling the fabric around and squirming until he emerges, breathing in the new fresh air. He tries to look around bit it is difficult, squinting doesn't help either. He can do nothing more than meow out helplessly.

  • [align=center][fancypost bgcolor=;border:0px;width:480px;line-height: 145%;text-align:justify;font-size:8.5pt]Claudia can't clearly remember a time before the wolves, let alone a time when she was still with her parents. The girl sometimes pondered on what her lineage was, who had given birth to her, if she had any blood siblings and the like. It wasn't something that Claude was.......sad over, per say, but she had never gotten the feeling of anything maternal or paternal before joining the pack. Feeling down about something she'd never experienced was out of the question. Stumbling upon the wolves was the best thing that the girl had ever done with her life, yet some rare moments, Claudia longed to know of her blood family.

She moved sluggishly through the undergrowth on tired paws, thoroughly exhausted from the night's full moon. A rather successful one, if she did say so herself. No injuries and plenty of prey caught. Claudia was quite proud of herself and figured she deserved to sleep in, but the rumbling of her stomach proved otherwise. So, fully prepared to rustle up a shrew or rabbit, the calico headed out, ears flicking every so often to catch any possible sounds of other creatures. And — wait. A high-pitched mew was what finally caught Claude's attention, causing the femme to freeze in her tracks, head tilting curiously. The tiny mew rang out again. Surely it wasn't a prey animal? Claudia headed towards the sound curiously, wide amber gaze catching sight of a woven basket and blanket almost instantly. Was the sound......coming from in the basket, then? The limber lycanthrope poked her muzzle inside, only to have her nose come in contact with a warm body. Claude jerked back reflexively, only just spotting a tiny black-and-white kitten among the fabric. And, well —

"Aw," she murmured, pacing forward cautiously to observe the kitten up close. His eyes were still a shade of kitten-blue, meaning the child was a mere month or younger. Claudia felt a spark of protectiveness light in her chest and she aimed to nose gently at Chaoskit's head, tail tapping out a nervous, staccato beat on the soil. "Hi, kiddo. Where's mom and dad?"

Maybe one day in the distant future Wilson wanted kits. But right now? Now he wanted nothing to do with them. So he kept his distance from the basket when he saw a tiny head peering from the blankets.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=; width: 350px; border-left: 1px transparent; border-right: 1px transparent;][justify] Koda, having a very difficult past like most (to her absolute surprise), completely understood the emotion of feeling lost and helpless. even if it was clear you were struggling, a crowd of bystanders would surround you, afraid to be the one to help you. it didn't matter if you were drowning or limp on the ground, you'd have to pick yourself up eventually in order to move on.

as the calico approached soldier claudia and the seemingly helpless kitten, also acknowledging the maine coon she had met earlier with a nod, she was reminded of a time in the past when she had realised what her higher authorities were causing her to do. but if she had disobeyed the army laws or even thought about it, Koda knew she would be facing serious consequences. that was why she had hit her head on a rock hard enough to pass out and the memory of what she had discovered, though the details were still there.

"a mere suggestion, but perhaps you should check if there's a letter?" Koda meowed, looking down at the kitten with curiousity. though she couldn't sense any paper, it wouldn't hurt to double check.
