[justify]Matthias woke up feeling weird. He felt heavier, his head felt a bit foggy, and his bed was far too small. What had happened? Had he gone off on a bender last night? Truly, he couldn't remember, but as he went to groom himself, his eyes widened and he jumped back slightly. He wasn't even the same animal anymore.
The male stood up, still stunned at his sudden growth and change in appearance. How had this happened? Was he still dreaming? Hallucinating? The large wildcat slunk out of the underground den that he had claimed as his own, the putrid stench of decomposition jolting him from his cloudy state of mind. No, he was not dreaming, this was real. Very real and very strange. Why was he no longer a brown and white tabby? Why was he this giant creature with claws that could kill an animal of his original species?
Instead of soft dark brown and white fur, his pelt had been replaced by thick, orange fur with red and brown hues scattered throughout it. The angelic white that had dominated the majority of his pelt had been replaced by a less prominent, dirtied cream colour. His paws were triple, maybe even quadruple, the size that they had once been - he was about two feet taller and 200 pounds heavier. As he walked further out away from the tunnels, he found that his stride was longer and he got places faster. Instead of taking seven small steps, he just had to take one big one. Crossing his eyes slightly, Matthias could see that his muzzle was longer and stuck out a bit more. It was laced with black and white, and his nose was no longer pink. "What am I?" Matthias asked, also noting that even his voice had gotten a bit deeper. He was a mountain lion, but he didn't know that.
