• "Now for the final round ladies and gents! The defender, Provocateur, ridden by Lance, against new and upcoming rival, Berkley with his stallion, Hellfire!" The audience looked on at the Medieval jousting tourney in suspense, waiting and watching the scene unfold. "Riders, begin!"

    The charge.

The rippling of muscles in every powerful stride.

    The shriek of agony.

    The silence.

Provocateur played the scene over and over in her mind, bolting from the scene. She had stared into the bleary eyes of a dead horse. It was her fault.

She had charged. Lance had gone for a dirty play. Now a horse was dead.

The hulking friesian galloped as fast as her long and powerful legs could take her, far from the gore, far from the humans, and far, far away from the life she once embraced as her own. Provocateur could never return. Ever.

The femme rocketed like Seabiscuit shooting out of the gates, finding herself delving deeper and deeper into the ominous, eerie forest, which happened to be only a couple miles from the tournament. The sylvan was becoming increasingly ominous. But, the equine could only run for so long before the gnawing feelings of defeat and grief caused her to buckle her knees to the ground. Besides, her armor was still quite heavy and making a ruckus. The giant and intimidating dark bay Friesian collapsed, trying to bury her head underneath some leafy foliage in shame.

So I kinda have to ask for your name and purpose." the ghost said hesitantly as he floated up, anxious blue orbs looking towards the horse. The ghost could sense that the female didn't seem to be the best at the moment, but alas he had to ask those questions.

    [fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px solid white; width: 450px; text-align: justify; height: auto; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 130%; margin-top: -8px]
Tragedy had brought Ruth to Darkclan as well. First it had sent her to Sunclan, but she had found herself unable to truly enjoy herself there. Darkclan was different. Darkclan helped her--not to forget, but to remember just enough to keep her going strong every day without losing sight of her real goal: revenge.

The she-cat trotted over, humming a bouncy ditty under her breath as she eyed the warhorse. She let out a low whistle, impressed by the size of the equine. Not long ago, Ruth might have been intimidated, but she had seen a robotic dragon join the other day. The tabby Darkclanner had been desensitize a bit, perhaps. Ruth said nothing, simply standing by and waiting for the stranger to answer Whirlingpaw.

  • Slowly, the large horse raised her head, her rounded black eyes meeting a pair of pink optics. Provocateur hesitated. "I'm.. Provocateur." Not wanting to terrify the cat with her size, she stayed seated. Should she have gotten to her feet, she would have been at least five times their height, easily. "I fled from my humans and headed here, in search of cats like you. I've heard rumors from the barn cats at my old stable of a clan living here. I think I'd like to join." Trespassing? By no means did the horse intend to cause offense. She was simply trying to flee the past. It was going to take time to adjust and learn the ways of the cats here.

Looking up at the creature, Rowena offered a small smile. "Well, you'd certainly make a good member, so consider yourself joined." the witch noted with a purr, bowing her head softly. It was nice to see the recent increase of newcomers to Darkclan and hopefully it would mean an increase in activity as well."Name's Rowena by the way; if you have any questions, feel free to ask."

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px]Unlike Ruth and Provocateur, tragedy had not brought him to DarkClan. Idle travel was what had ushered him towards the group, alongside his best friend. He enjoyed residing in it, even if most of the others living within the clan were not what he considered to be company. Benjamin was the one to be there for that title. He had yet to actually become friends with anyone outside of his medic, but he was not discouraged. It took time to develop relationships with people you had only recently met. He couldn't blame them either, considering that he was a newcomer to the clan — a fresh face. Many usually lingered around those they were comfortable with, rather than someone who had only just arrived to a foreign place. It was understandable. Scotty wasn't at all offended by the reactions either, no matter how much they didn't appear on the surface. Fortunately, most had been rather welcoming to Benjamin and himself. He was grateful for it, even if it did not display itself on his facial features. Regardless of whether he was welcomed or not, he wouldn't see anything differently. He would remain as he was: a cocky, self-absorbed asshole. Living that way was the simplest.

The Pinscher was quick to approach the scene, seeing as how he had spotted the large mammal from afar. Her form was similar to a skyscraper. She wasn't as tall as the walls of their fortress, but she was tremendous in size in comparison to the cats and dogs living within its walls. He was hardly to her knee, if that. Not only was she colossal, she was thick, and well-muscled. In essence, she was a war horse. Little did Scott know, she had been that, or at least something similar to it. Provocateur would prove to be an asset to the group for intimidation and strength. Perhaps she was a gentle giant. Most larger creatures happened to be that way. While not considerably huge, in comparison to his breed, he was. However, he did not hold the same stereotype as many bigger animals held. It was obvious he didn't care much for the title either. With his signature grin, Montgomery approached with a raised head, chin tilted in Provocateur's direction. "Nice to meetcha, Provocateur. You are one tall dame," the canine greeted smoothly, giving a fleeting comment on her size, though in a way that made it seem more like a compliment than anything else. "Name's Scott. Welcome to DarkClan. If you need anythin', I'm pretty 'in the know' of all the happenin's," he then went on to introduce, tone a bit more informative than it had been previously. His gaze was temporarily drawn away from the equine to Rowena, who had approached moments before him. He gave her a small wave with a free paw before glancing back at Provocateur.
