She really should have told them that she'd left, of course. But then she would have had to explain an awful load of things, and it was really too much bother.

Then why was the dragoness here now? Two reasons. Firstly, she'd heard her dearly destroyed son, Atticus, had joined up. She'd heard about his lovely little friend who'd been killed. Such a shame, but a perfect opportunity to bait him and test his skills. After all, no matter how little he interacted with her, he was still a Visrin. Oh, and the second reason? It was the fifth time this month she'd gone without eating. Not because she was incapable of hunting her herself. Oh, heavens, no. She was a more than capable fighter. It was just all a bother and honestly, she had more entertaining things to do than feed herself. Entertaining things that were better executed in a clan, where she wouldn't have to bother about catching food unless she felt like it.

So she'd teleported onto the border with a careless flick of her feathered tail. In times gone by the Carciphona had just waltzed into the territory, but not today.

Many good things were happening on the border, this was one of my first patrols since.. well since that night. I still had nightmares, the mask, it had always just kept smiling with the cracked outline, its bright face like a supermoon I couldn't forget how it had almost smoked from within. No no no I couldn't I had to think about something else something better something which didn't relight the pain within me and make my injuries sting from just the memory
Potatoes, yea thats right, potatoes were always good, I could cook potatoes well now.

The serval had been strolling along the border, head bent in thought his face flickered, not showing any deep emotion, just sort of a worried calm. He walked a little funny, just a roll of his hips, the slightly out of place feeling from his dressings. Grey had done them well, and he wouldn't need them for much longer. Yet the bandages still felt out of place. whilst one his the name carved into his back the other was for useful reasons, like keeping his flesh together so it didn't flap around and splatter everyone with blood.

Oh there was a creature on the border, I had been a little shocked at first, my mind had sunk deep but now I sat blinking at the dragon. Like a fancy papa with wings. "Say scuse me Miss." She didn't seem like the type of lady to want a potato.. but that didn't mean I couldn't approach. "Can I help you?"

She yawned at him, taking her time to reply.

"Mhm, I wish to join my darling children. Atticus nad Spectre. Know them?"

"I know the names," Ben chirps earnestly as he's carried over, pressing his forepaws against the dog beneath him and smiling at the dragon. Honestly, being carried like this does make him feel a little useless, but he's almost healed, and— well, after that, this dog can continue being a normal member of the clan, rather than just.. his carer. It's not something he needs to dwell on, though, and it certainly can't help here — instead, he searches his brain for memories of last seeing people with either names, and he's certain that an Atticus joined not too long ago. Maybe it's the same Atticus? "I think they're both here. Atticus joined recently. You can join, too — welcome to the clan, miss. I'm Benvolio; what's your name?"

  • [align=center][fancypost bgcolor=none; bordercolor=transparent; borderwidth=0px; width: 370px;font-size:8pt;line-height: 130%;][justify]"Yo, Auresque. It's been a little while, I suppose." Nighttales would resound with an airy hum, drawing to a halt by Benvolio, and proceeding to shift his heterochromatic orbs towards Auresque. This woman had been someone whom had meant the entire world to Spectre, at one point, though with Auresque's expansive amount of spawn, he doubted that she had given Spectre significant, individual-care. Nonetheless, Spectre had always been eager to impress her mother. She had always been that way - or at least, for a while. Then, they had met, and he had managed to convince her otherwise, somehow - that she was more than her mother's child. She was, indeed, Auresque's daughter, but she didn't need to spend her entire life struggling to live up to Auresque's expectations.

Auresque herself, however, was not someone whom he mindlessly detested. In fact, when she had been around, her company had been particularly amusing at times. She had always been somewhat confident in herself, but in a method that wasn't cliche or monotonous to be around. Nevertheless, if she disagreed with what Nighttales had told Spectre, then there'd likely be a slight problem. "I think this would be a good time to tell you that you're going to be my mother-in-law, sometime soon." Nighttales would add, with a blithe grin. Who knew; maybe she didn't remember him? Even if she didn't, he didn't want to be hounded out by Spectre later, for neglecting to let her mother know that they were getting married.

It really was an unusual sight and it quite distracted her from his words. No matter. They were probably the careless dribble of auto acceptance. The number of clans she had joined meant she knew it far too well. She blew a kiss at the boy to embarrass him, before her limited attention was drawn elsewhere.

Nighttales. She did indeed remember him. He was entertaining enough, and a familiar face. And no doubt an individual of power, which made it all quite delicious. His words arrested her attention even further. She'd entirely forgotten her eager, spear-wielding daughter was here. Such a lovely, eager-to please child. She'd gotten hitched? How intriguing. Her daughter hadn't breathed a word of it. Naughty disobedience, but her good taste left her forgiven.

"How perfect! I am so very happy for the both of you. I'm assuming she's not pregnant, that would be terribly awkward. And the two of you really should have told me before. But I won't spoil this moment. Tell me, how did it all eventuate?"

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0;font-size:8pt; text-align:justify; line-height: 140%; width:450px;]Atticus had worked tirelessly to win Auresque's favour as a child, had done everything in his power to get a hold of something so small and seemingly insignificant: a little piece of jewelry. He glanced down at it now as he approached the border, watching as the piece of onyx reflected the sunlight beating down on them.

He had fled to the Brotherhood so long ago, having grown tired of slaving away for the affection he would never truly get, and though he had run into a few siblings here and there, meeting Auresque herself was the last thing he would have expected.

The kitsune had changed drastically since last seeing her. His mindset, his attitude, his habits; all were different. He no longer cared to toil, would pass it up almost every time in exchange for leisure. He was crass, he was blunt, he was… himself. Not the boy he had been, desperate for motherly love. Willing to do anything for it along with a demonic accessory. He didn't need her anymore, had given up on trying with her. He didn't want her.

    And now she was here.

"Mother," he greeted her, forcing a smile. Oh god, he had called her a whore in the recent past, had criticized her and spoken ill of the woman. In fact, he was pretty sure he'd done the first during his visit to Colouredclan a month prior. If she were to find out about that, if she were to know just how much he had changed… would she take his necklace away? It was a staggering thought, but he didn't let it show. Instead, the kitsune gazed curiously up at her from his position beside Nighttales, wondering what the hell she was doing here. "It's been a while. How're you doing?"

  • [fancypost bgcolor=transparent; borderwidth=0px;width:400px; height: ;; color: ; font-family: georgia; text-align: justify; font-size: 12px;]
Spectre had mostly been like Atticus. All she had cared about had been getting Auresque's attention - but not for a necklace. She had just... really wanted to be loved by her mother. The kitsune had gotten over it after a while... after she came to ColouredClan. She met Ni, and she didn't really notice it, but she grew to not obsess over getting her mother's love.

The way she felt about Auresque was similar to how she felt about her siblings. It was, uh... nice to see them. She just didn't really expect it. "Ah, M-Mother!" she would say, seeing the dragoness at the border. At the mention of her being pregnant, she felt her face heat up - she wasn't marrying Ni because she pregnant, or anything like that. "No! It's not like that... uh, we just... um..." Spec didn't really know herself. When had she started to like her fiance? Of course, she could remember asking him if he had anyone he liked - although at the time she told herself it was just because she was curious, she was probably just trying to deny that she liked him. So then... where would it start? Maybe when she joined?

"It kind of... happened?" that was perhaps the last thing Auresque wanted to hear - a simple sentence. She had probably been expecting a novel full of details; Spectre just didn't know how to give them. The kitsune turned to Ni for help, her two-toned eyes pleading for help.

Both Carciphonas, which meant she automatically favoured them more. Oh yes, she was aware she played favourites. Everyone did, there was no point pretending otherwise. And when she was obvious about it, it spurred them on to gain her favour. She couldn't remember their fathers, but she had quite enjoyed the experience of raising them thus far.

"Lovely children! What a pleasure to see you both here. Congratulations Spectre. I expect grandchildren, however, so get a move on - ahaha, I'm joking. We'll have a chat later. But for now, I'll get something to eat."
