• [fancypost borderwidth=0px; text-align: justify;]"If anyone is interested to in learning herbs, gather," Salixcloud called out. It's been awhile since she held one and actually carried it out. The calico turned and walked into her cabin. Man, she really had to get the blood stains off of her floor but she didn't have what was needed.

Cloudwatching trotted up to his mentor's with a beaming smile. He was happy Salixcloud had been stern about him perfecting his herb knowlege, if she had not been boss he would not know the honour and importance of tending to his clan mates. Because of what she had thaught he got off well tending to Skyclan's patients too along with Luca.

Maggy felt a little awkward padding forward. She liked learning, though she wasn't sure how much she would retain. She was a far better fighter than anything but as of right now she wanted to stay in camp with her kits... so she would learn something new. Should be good. She flashed a smile to Salixcloud.

Harrierbeat flashed a smile as she moved close. She remembered when Larkflight had been here for a time, Glitteringgold too... they had shared some of their knowledge and she had felt so good about herself for learning the basics so she could always help her clan.

She would do the same again, brushing her tail against her daughters as she came along. She dipped her head respectfully towards Salixcloud, and settled herself so she could watch the tortoiseshell with her eye.

  • Although being a Nurse back in Germany had damaged her and had shown her things she had never wanted to see, Floretta couldn't help but be drawn back to the lifestyle. She had always enjoyed helping people; seeing and being around their conditions was just part of the job. A lot of the time, it was an honorable ability to be able to view turmoil and horror in the face, all the while acting on your feet accordingly. During their journey here, the she-dog had plenty-a-time taken care of her friends-- 93 years of living and it was nearly impossible to not have one or the other get injured, whether it be reckless behavior or a friendly skirmish. Such was her life, and therefore Flora didn't see any need to hold back on what she already knew about taking care of her friends. Anything she could do to help HawkClan without using her claws or teeth was good enough for her, and so she came to stand next to the rest of her new, unfamiliar clanmates, a nervous but polite smile spread across her maw. "I am interested, if that's alright."

Bistre would yawn and curl up away from the group of those who were stating interest, one ear pricked and tuned for the purpose of picking up a trick or two. He likely wouldn't remember anything though, herbs were awfully hard for the male for whatever reason.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=; width: 390px;]He wasn't interested, wouldn't really ever be interested in herbs. It wasn't his liking and so he merely came forward and laid down. He turned his head way from the group and laid his head on his paws but his ears were perked up to listen. He felt uncomfortable among them but he didn't say a word, just waited for these things to get kicked off. Taking in a deep breath he sighed and closed his gaze.

Bellkit didn't know what a herb was but he was here anyways! Following happily along behind his grandparents who he had also taken to following around the clan like he did his mother. She was here as well and while he watched Gramma move to slip alongside her he also turned and spotted his grandfather settling down away from the crowd of the others. The kit danced from one paw to the other anxiously, his family had split up and he wasn't sure who to go sit with and what even was going to happen but after a moment he figured that Bistre might need the company more as his mother and grandmother were seated together and so his tiny white paws carried him over to the darker tom where he settled down into the curl of his tail, stepping over it and turning in a full circle before laying down until only the top portion of his head was visible.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; text-align: justify;]Salixcloud watched as a few people appeared to come into her cabin for training. It was interesting enough. "Welcome to shaman training. I want to say that being a shaman means to be medical and spiritually aware. As an apprentice of mine, you will be learning about how to treat others and will learn the way of StarClan. However, you can follow any religion, " Salixcloud spoke, loudly.

She passed around a few poppy seeds, willow bark, bandages, a tansy leaf to the members who gathered. "Anyone know what these are and how you can use them?" She asked.

  • Burnhilde was late, and that only seemed to make her anxiety so much worse. She didn't rightly understand what was going on, but herbal remedies had been used for healing before. Why would that be any different here? The apprentice-looking pup made her way over towards the group, sitting down somewhere comfortable to where she could see the ingredients Salixcloud laid out. "U-Uh...I know the bandages. They are to cover cuts and keep them from getting infected." She said softly.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=;border:0;width:440px;text-align:justify;font-size:8.5pt]Medicinal practice. She was no stranger to the task, considering she had aided her birth clan greatly during their time of war, diligently learning how to assist those who found themselves in need of naturalized medicine for their ailments. Of course, there had been no official position for such experts during those times, Bloodclan having abolished the rank with ease, thinking it an inconvenience as they instead granted the rights to heal to all of their inhabitants. Perhaps now that the alabaster femme inhabited a new home, she'd be able to correctly utilize those and put them to substantial use while here. "Poppy seeds." Came Megaera's gentle response, gesturing a delicate paw to the smaller morsels she had presented to them. Ah, yes. She was familiar with these things. "They can be used to dull the pain one is experiencing, or aid with sleep." Next up. This one was a tad bit more difficult, for she found herself raking through her various memories for some type of connection with the herb. She'd seen this before, somewhere. "Willow Bark." With any luck, it was the correct response. "It can be used as a pain killer, or to reduce fevers, though only if ingested in small dosages." Consume too much of anything, and there was always a risk of potential overdose. Herbs were no different, or at least that's what had she had been taught.

  • As one of her companions neared, Floretta felt a breath of relief. It seemed now that they were in this clan that it was harder for them all to be together at once, and as that was the case with any clan, Floretta found it hard to get around alone, and to do things that she enjoyed doing without the rest of the group following her. Although she hadn't made any new friends just yet, Flora had made acquaintances and, as a result, knew that it would be sooner rather than later that an individual would ask her to go on an adventure. It seemed that the bond they all shared together was so tightly knit that even now she felt a dull ache in her chest, though slightly relieved at the arrival of Brun. Not only was the bond relieved, but her brain cleared only the slightest bit and she focused back on Salixcloud, looking towards the rest that had begun to arrive. Seeing as the bandages, poppy seeds, and willow bark had been accounted for, Flora decided that the only herb left, a leaf of tansy, was worth talking about. No sense in repeating what the other two had already stated. "That one is tansy, and it can help with animals who have a sore throat as well as those who have a cough. If you're poisoned you can also use it to help suck out the toxin."

It was hard to suppress the peevish sense of embarrassment as Daize appeared, lingering along the sidelines. She didn't know anything about herbs. She had never been taught, and her life had been too full of tragedies that seemed to hold her back from pursuing any interests. Still, the appeal of being able to heal herself rather than depending on someone else was an interesting idea. Truly, she was not meant for medical work; she would rather guard her own life than to spend it looking after others. Maybe a one point in early life she could've been better, but it was too late now. There was no stopping fear, and fear was what consumed Daize constantly.

Quiet, she sat down, listening with a faint expression.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; text-align: justify;](sorry about my late reply)

Salixcloud listened to the apprentices spoke and answered her questions. Burhlide stated the basics of what bandages do and such. Which, was good. She didn't expect everyone to know all the herbs in the world. Heck, she would watch the other medics in different clans and she will still learn how to do some knickknacks. "You are correct. The primary purpose is to cover up the wound. They are used to help stop bleeding. However, you are not suppose to take off and apply more, but, instead, stack more cobwebs or bandages on top. Can someone tell me why?" Salixcloud spoke.

To see the character who would answer to of her questions were interesting enough. Not like she cared of anyone knew all the herbs and were trying to be a know-it-all. However, the she-cat listened and nodded her head. She said all the right things for the herbs. "Good, what is your name?" She asked Megaera.

"Great, you got tansy correct. What other item of medic can you use for poison?" The shaman asked the canine. Her olive eyes watched the canine with interest before looking at Daize. "Hello, what is your name?" Salixcloud stated.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 450px;]Val approached and sat next to her mother. She wasn't particularly interested in herbs, but if there was an emergency it wouldn't hurt to know. She sat quietly, listening to what she had to say. She heard her mom speak and was surprised. She must've learned a few things while her children were gone. Val already knew about the bandage part; that was easy. It was remembering the herbs that always stumped her.

She was getting distracted every so often - the casual twitter of breath would snag her attention, and it was with annoyance at herself that she would shift, trying to stop such things from happening. Her mind was not fully committed to the situation; she'd keep getting distracted if she didn't focus solely on this.

Fidgeting, she tried to remember what "tansy" was when Salixcloud's question passed through her ears - perking, Daize would blink at the shaman, momentarily lost before straightening her stance and replying. "D-Daize." She'd say hastily. "It's Daize."

  • A small smile spread across Flora's face as she got the answer correctly, though she didn't more. No straightening of the back, just a small glance towards Daize, offering the girl a small smile, before focusing her attention back towards Salixcloud. She had spoken in response to her answer, and Floretta couldn't think of the answer. During her time with her friends, she had only used tansy to treat that of poisonous situations. Swallowing, Flora's eyes struggled to make eye contact with the older she-cat, and she back-tracked attentively to answer the previous question about the cobwebs, and why you aren't supposed to take them off.

"Maybe it's so you don't get it caught on the fur or rip part's of the healed wound off?" she meowed. It was more of a question than a statement, thought that was what made the most logical sense to her. If it was stuck to the wound then you wouldn't want to take it off in fear of it ripping whatever had healed, off.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=;border:0;width:440px;text-align:justify;font-size:8.5pt]She is far from a know-it-all in terms of herb knowledge. There was still plenty to learn. Granted, the alabaster beauty has most likely accumulated medical knowledge that was rather uncommon for a regular type of member to possess, however she mostly has her past to thank for that. During such troubling and unsteady times for Bloodclan, it was either learn how to treat wounds and illnesses, or risk those you cared for perishing under similar circumstances. At the shaman's inquiry of her alias, the canine can't help but perk up a tad, a slight smile curving her lips at the triumph. "Megaera Darling." At least she'd been able to remember those two things correctly, even considering how rusty she was in terms of herb knowledge. Tilting her head to the side, she ponders the answer to their medic's following inquiry. Stacking bandages, hm. Well, avoiding pulling on a sensitive scab, and therefore reopening the wound was a good guess, though maybe there was more to it. "Perhaps it also keeps from exposing a steadily healing wound to potential factors that might have the possibility of causing infection, such as certain particles in the air, or even dirt and unclean water?"

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0; width: 410px; font-family: arial; line-height:100%; font-size: 11pt; text-align: justify;]The large tiger stumbled over on clumsy paws, being his usual awkward self as he oddly approached the crowd, lowering his head. His leopard gecko followed him in, running as quickly as its little legs could carry it before hopping on Aslanskies' back.

The ex medic of WindClan stood, gaze shifting the crowd before landing upon Salixcloud. The shaman was an interesting character, one that was much different from the tiger himself. "I h-hope I'm n-not too la-late or anything, but I c-can help o-out if you n-need it." If not, he supposed he'd just sit down and participate as everyone else was.
