Then slowly, her senses came back to her. Had she. . .had she fallen asleep? She must have, while she was studying. But that didn’t explain the dripping noise, the slow drip, drop, drip, drop that plauged her hearing. It was an ugly sound, and mint didn’t like it, didn’t like any of this because it wasn’t right. She had left the lights on for a specific reason, and now that the lights were off, she wouldn’t be protected, she wouldn’t be safe, she wouldn’t be safe, she wouldn’t be --

    scratch, sccccraaattcch, scrape.

No. mint stood, eyes wild and her breath coming in short bursts, her reaction panicked. they were here, here to get her. No. she wouldn’t let them ruin her life again, not this time. "stop! Get out of here! Leave me alone!” she yelled as the scraping sounds got closer.

That’s it, she was going to take a chance and risk it. She bolted from her room, tearing down the halls of the asylum. She had to wake everyone up so they could be protected, too. Because if one of the creatures got ahold of the others, it’d be the end for all of them. ”you guys, get up! Now! They’re coming for us!” she screamed at the top of her lungs, her bare feet pounding against the floor. Light. She just had to get to a light source and it would all be better, [color=white]”hurry!”

// this is a human au thread where there are some demons/ghosts/whatever you want to call them roaming around the asylum but they can only move when the lights are out! Feel free to have your character be a regular person, or be one of the creatures!

Maeve was calm, much calmer than someone might think. She wasn't scared of the ghouls of all kinds. In fact she was one herself, although she would never admit it. Despite her wish to appear normal and unordinary, her cell was left open long after she began to feel peculiar cravings. She was ignoring them for now and subsiding the hunger with sips of her stolen blood wine. It looked normal. It just happened to be red.

Mintyswirl's shriek caused a sigh, and she fluffed up her fur to appear a little more natural as she slipped out to join the other clanner. The ghouls paid little to no mind to her, but the light level did not affect her. Saying nothing as she slipped up beside Mintyswirl, her hypnotic gaze went to good use as she used it to stop the undead in their tracks.

[shadow=#000,left]♔[/shadow] Why was Mint disturbing her while she was trying to sleep? Mero had more important things to do than respond to pranks like this. However, Mero had been known to struggle to get to sleep once she woke up full of energy. Groaning to herself, the bright blonde-haired girl dragged herself from the comfort of sleep. She'd be very cross if she'd been summoned without reason. Rubbing her eyes, she raised her head sleepily, masculine features peaking out from her face alongside light hazel eyes that almost resembled a yellowish color. It seemed like someone else had also moved, so at least she wasn't the first of them who had to drag herself from a resting position.

Perhaps she panicked more when she saw what was happening. Maeve was attempting to petrify them, but would that actually hold them down? She personally doubted it. They were talking about the undead. Besides, she was fed up with Maeve being a gorgon. "Fuck!" she hissed under her breath, before spinning around and running in the opposite direction from which the undead were approaching. She could technically hold her own, but the less crowded she was the easier it'd be to avoid falling prey to them. She was not about to fall prey to supernatural beings. She was an intelligent figure despite being illogical at times, so even if everyone else died she was hoping to have a chance at survival.
