the guide to the frontier
the friendly, stargazing pro-clan of the mountains
_______________________________________________________________________________________
TERRITORY ▪
the frontier has a mystifying territory, made of mountains that seem to touch the sky itself and of lush forests. fog encompasses their territory, creating the mysterious vibe and often causing wanderers to get lost. there are thin paths winding through the forest and mountains to the camp, only noticeable to those who know where to look.
the heart of the clan rests on a flat plain at the base of the largest mountain. an abandoned village sits on the side of the mountain made of small wooden cabins that each member can claim and call their own. grass and weeds shoot through the cracks of the rock, creating a softer, more lush home. the cabins are mostly arranged according to rank - the leader's cabin rests close to the top of the mountain, with the deputy below (and so on). nearby those cabins is a large, unoccupied cabin that is used as the clan's library. you can find lots of books donated from the frontier's members that are free to be borrowed. as there is no librarian, it is trusted that your character will return any book borrowed. your character is also free to donate any books.
occasionally, you will find long bridges stretching from the side of one cliff to the next, but it is recommended not to climb across them. they are extremely shaky, and tethered by ropes. a waterfall lies on the east end of the territory, coming from a large cave where the back way of camp is. it comes from a small pool inside, where it is assumed, there are underground rivers throughout the mountains. rivers branch from this waterfall, leading to several small ponds. members can go there to cool off or take a drink. a few species of large fish can be found in these waters, but fishing is not a taught skill here in the frontier. a moss-covered statue is implanted someplace in the territory, 10 feet tall, and broken in some places. it appears of a man sitting with his legs crossed and resting his hands on his lap.
at the top of the mountain lies the ruins of a greek temple, where most religious members go to pray to the sky gods. at night, the northern lights shine above the temple, making this spot a favorite especially among young children.
