  • Well
I've not been feeling so great lately, mostly about my mental health. "Not so great" is an understatement, but there are people in more dire situations than I am.

So, about a year ago, I had been sent to the mental wing in a hospital for violence, aggression, depression, etc., and I just recently realized how badly it had affected me mentally. I had broken down a few days ago, and I had had hoped that my parents (mostly my mom) would get off my back for the side effects that the experience had caused. One of the side effects was, when I got upset, I stutter badly. But, just today my mom had just mocked me for stuttering and not being able to get a single word out. I had to leave my house to get some time for myself. My bedroom door can and will be unlocked whenever my mother pleases. I can't go anywhere else inside my house, since all of the doorknobs can be unlocked from the outside. Eventually, I had to go to a friend's house and talk it out, though I still feel awful. Do other people stutter when they get upset, or is it just me?

    Okay... rant over

  • I stutter whenever I get emotional simply because something is moving faster than something else. I think the weirdest time to stutter is when I'm trying to sing, but I digress...

Basically, don't worry about it. Only reason you need to worry about your mom's judgment is because you're forced to share a roof with her. Otherwise, being a teenager, it doesn't matter until you're a real adult and that's the part where you have to have that under control, I think.

  • I actually stutter at random intervals during the day and I get made fun of a lot. Especially when I'm upset or embarrassed or if I talk about it. Don't worry about your mom though. sometimes parents can be pretty tough.
