A lot of her energy had to be put in for just a simple flight, and she didn't know why.
But she wasn't about to give up on her wings just yet, nope. Pastelcub might be easily frustrated but she wasn't a quitter (or so she liked to think)!

And so there the little winged tiger was, standing at the edge of a cliff at biome six. The surroundings were quiet and there wasn't much noise other than the occasional cry of a bird of prey or rocks crumbling down a slope. It was quite unnerving for the young Colouredclanner, but she told herself that she had to swallow her fear and get over it. If I ever want to fly like Whitegold or Permafrost, I've got to start here! Pastelcub thought to herself, trying her hardest not to look down.

Pasty looked out across the land, her paws slightly hanging off the edge of the cliff. She was in the perfect spot for this. Not more than ten feet ahead of the cub was another pillar of earth jutting out of the ground, foliage covering the top. Pastel knew that it wouldn't take much to get over there and back and now the cub was ready.

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She backed up to a point where she could run, jump off and begin her flight. "It's now or never, Pasty..." The Siberian tiger cub told herself.
Pastelcub broke into a run and charged towards the edge of the cliff, once she reached it she didn't hesitate to jump and start to beat her wings in the air as hard as she could.

Her creamy yellow eyes opened to see herself hovering in the air. She was quite lopsided and had to keep shifting her balance between herself, but the cub was overjoyed. It's not over yet, Pastelcub growled to herself before trying to push the air behind her to get forward.

Pastel was about halfway there and she continued to fly until she was out of breath. Come on, Pasty, you can't give up! She thought to herself before putting in one last ditch effort to get to the other side.
Within good timing, the Siberian found herself on the other side, exhausted. "I made it!" She gasped between little pants. Pastelcub tugged at the ribbon around her neck while combing back her fur that had been ruffled in the flight. That was soo worth it.. She thought to herself before taking a seat and looking out across the land. "It's amazing," Pasty breathed, gazing out across the biome.
Her first real flight and getting to see more of the territory. What a great day!

[sub] Greymatter just about had a heart attack when Pastelcub jumped off that cliff. First Derrick now her niece--did others not understand how dangerous it was? She'd give a pass to Pastelcub. She was still a cub who didn't know any better. But even Hinata had considered it. It was his luck he was debating it in a public area where everyone could see him. Otherwise, he might've ended up as injured as Derrick had when he attempted.

The reason Grey was so freaked out about it, was that flying off a cliff was an advanced technique. If you were still a fledgling and attempted it, there was a high chance you were going to fall to your death. Trees were much more of a viable option. It was a shorter distance and the repetitive motion of lessening the fall by using your wings and attempting to fly back up there was safer. It was how Grey learned to fly. She watched mother birds teach their fledglings how to fly.

"Congratulations," She gave a shaky smile, folding her wings as she landed, "Though next time I'd advise practicing somewhere else that's less risky."

Whitegold crouched in the trees, tense, but willing to at least let her daughter try. She felt close enough to get there in time if needed.

"That was impressive." she rumbled to her daughter, taking a few powerful flaps of her wings and landing next to Pastelcub and her aunt. "Just get someone to be your net next time."

"Mom, aunty!" She called from across the way. "Thanks, aunty, mom!" Pastelcub chirped with glee. Wait.. be safer? But she made it! "Um... okay, I'll be safer!" Pasty then replied.spacehere
Or, well, she was pretty sure she couldn't. She glanced back at her body. Nope. All neck, no wings. Or any limbs for that matter. But it would be cool. She peeked her head up, looking out over the lede. [b]"Wow! Very nice! I want flying. Nope, no Fruit wings."

She twitched her tail, imagining the wind beneath her scales. Would it feel nice? What did it feel like to have wings? She turned her gaze back towards the cub, eyes shining. "Maybe you can fly Fruit!!!" [/fancypost]
