The lion weaved his way through the forest until the vegetation seemed to get thicker and more difficult to traverse through. However the lion forced his way through, branches and bramble vines tugging at his mane and forcing him to leave clumps behind himself.

However his journey soon reached a conclusion was he stood within the clearing around the Sacred Oak. The whitish bark of the ancient tree radiated as a result of sunlight shining upon it, giving it an almost eerie and godly aura.

Briareos sat himself down before the tree, his head raised as he gazed up at the branches above him.
"Riddlestar, can you hear me? I need your guidance, we need your guidance."
He spoke up, praying that the original founder could somehow hear him. But for a long time he had not heard of him, had he maybe passed from StarClan? Sighing he lowered his head and frowned, screwing his eyes shut as uncertainty overwhelmed him.

[fancypost borderwidth=0; width: 400px; height: auto; margin-top: -10px;][justify][font=arial][size=8]When out hunting, Jack often found himself easily distracted, meaning that he often tended to invent some sort of mission for himself to go on or something else to do rather than actually providing food for his Clan. He just found hunting in RiddleClan's territory rather difficult - his huge canine body wasn't built for weaving in and out of the trees and ducking under the undergrowth in search of little mice and voles - and that led him to avoid it, even though he often set out with the intention of catching at least something to feed the little ones. Oh well, some of his clanmates had fancy conjuring powers and such, and could probably dream up something much nicer for them than a scrawny squirrel.

Anyway, Jack happened to be out hunting, and, like usual, he was distracted. Random tufts of soft-looking, sapphire fur had been left on some of the thornier bushes that he passed, like the original owner of the fur had pushed through with a purpose. Being too damn curious for his own good (and also very bored of his 'hunting' mission), the German Shepherd began to follow the tantalising trail of tufts, ignoring the nearby scents of easy prey around him, pretending to himself that he couldn't smell them. He only knew one blue member of his Clan, and that was one of his leaders - a male that he didn't know well. Perhaps Jack could be of assistance to him in some way on this fine fall day.

The Armada member continued to meander along, now just following the ever-growing scent of Briareos, until he reached a clearing that contained a beautiful, mystical-looking tree that he recognised well - the Sacred Oak. And sat before the oak was the very man he'd been looking for. Jack paused for a moment, unsure of whether he was disturbing some special, leadery ceremony or whatever, but then threw caution to the wind and padded softly towards the lion, coming to a halt just behind him. As he walked, he listened closely to Brie's words, feeling concern wash over him.

"Is everything alright, Brie?" he asked, his voice holding an uncharacteristic amount of worry. Jack was usually the most laid-back guy around, but if his leader was asking for assistance, something must be wrong.

The voice startled him and he snapped his head round in a flash so he could set his shocked gaze upon Jack. Seeing that it was not an enemy or someone who often challenged him he allowed the tension in his body to fade away. The lion turned his body round so he could face the young hound whilst devoting his attention to him.

"Things are... lets just say complicated. StarClan has been silent for a while now, ever since we came to this new territory and it worries me greatly. I was hoping to gain some guidance, even I need help sometimes."
Briareos spoke, being genuinely open and honest about his feelings. Secrets were not something he liked holding, a trait that had become present long, long ago when he accidentally murdered a rival clanmate and had tried to cover it up which led to further war.

[fancypost borderwidth=0; width: 400px; height: auto; margin-top: -10px;][justify][font=arial][size=8]Jack hadn't meant to scare the lion, and he felt a brief flash of guilt at the shock in Brie's gaze and the tension in his body when he turned. However, fortunately, he didn't seem to mind being disturbed too much, and the guilty feeling faded from the German Shepherd as he watched the male visibly relax. The Armada member listened devoutly as Brie answered his question, his voice open and honest. Jack was honestly surprised that he was being so frank with him, but he was glad of it - anything troubling the Clan was his business, and he would do anything he could to help.

"Maybe no news is good news?" the large canine offered after a moment's thought; he was always the optimist. "I mean, if they were really annoyed with us, they would have told us, right?" He wasn't the most informed on the whole 'StarClan' deal, and he often didn't really know what to make of it, but he admired others' faith in the mystical heaven. If Brie genuinely believed that they were the ones to go to, then Jack would support him.

"Perhaps you are correct, but I'm worried that maybe StarClan has lost us. They haven't been in contact since the territory move, so... maybe I need to make a pilgrimage back to the old home in space and guide them here."
Briareos wrinkled his nose at the very notion of going to Chadus, or any of the other planets for that matter. Then he recalled that Jack had only become part of RiddleClan recently and was probably unaware of past events.

"I used to be part of StarClan, and I felt so helpless as I watched this group spiral down a dark path. I would have never dreamed of this place becoming filled with murderers, psychopaths and so much more. When I got another chance to return to the realm of the living I swore I would right the wrongs, but in all honesty I don't know how."
The lion hung his head low as he flattened his ears back against the top of his skull. So many clans suffered, and RiddleClan's history had almost been eradicated and lost to the sands of time.

[fancypost borderwidth=0; width: 400px; height: auto; margin-top: -10px;][justify][font=arial][size=8]Jack nodded, finding what Brie was saying about guiding StarClan to the new territory to make sense. He'd previously assumed that StarClan were all-powerful and all-seeing, and that they'd easily be able to find any Clan that they wished, but he guessed that they must not be able to do everything. The German Shepherd once again admired the Primus, and his willingness to make a journey to a place which he obviously disliked, into space, no less!

The male was grateful when the lion recounted some of his own and RiddleClan's past for him, listening carefully, shocked at Brie's extensive past. Hang on, had the male been dead at one point? This was all a lot for the canine to take in.

"You're very brave to be considering making the journey," Jack spoke, his voice genuine, and also concerned, seeing Brie's saddened stance. He wanted to step forwards and reassure him with some physical contact, but checked himself - he didn't know the other male that well, and he should show his superiors the respect that they deserved. Therefore, he ploughed on, ignoring the urge. "And I had no idea of RiddleClan's past. I mean... wow, you were dead at one point? Sorry if it's a sore subject, but..." The German Shepherd trailed off, then spoke again, his voice softer, picking up on other things that the lion had said. "You can't hope to make everything right, Brie, it's not the way of the world. You're doing a great job as our leader, this Clan doesn't look very full of psychopaths to me, so you must have done something right along the way!" He smiled, his eyes bright. "If you really think that finding StarClan will help us more, and help you more, then I fully support you going. I would also be happy to accompany you, if you didn't wish to go alone." He finished with a small shrug, knowing full well that he would follow Brie to the ends of the Earth if he so wished. Jack adored his Clan and commanders, and would do anything that Brie asked him to. Loyalty was a strong part of the large, friendly canine, and it showed.

"I've been dead twice to be exact. First time I tasted the sting of death was when my niece poisoned me and my grandson. The second time was when I died of disease."
Briareos shared, not overly worried about sharing his fates. In the end he was onto his third life, though it did leave him wondering how many he had left. He would need to be careful because his next death might easily be his last.

"Thank you for the kind words Jack, for someone so young you certainly carry a very mature mind upon your shoulders. Perhaps it might be best if you come with me then. You can see what our former territory was like and gain an understanding to our history, and maybe StarClan might even speak with you as well."
The lion climbed to his paws and pondered over going now, or potentially waiting a few extra days.
