She didn't really notice her wings, she just kind of ignored them and pushed them into the back of her mind, they weren't actually a big deal to her.

The day before this one, her shoulders were a bit sore, but she payed no mind to it as she went along with her day. Pastel just thought it was just that she was walking too much or something like that, so she shrugged it off and went on with her life.
But when the next day rolled around her wings felt more sore than they ever were before and as she woke, Pastel just felt awful. "Ugh... why are my shoulders so soooore?" The cub groaned with pain. Nothing had ever hurt more than that in her mind. Pastelcub stood up arching her back and stretching. As she did so, the tangerine coloured tiger (try saying that ten times fast) felt something almost.. weighing down her shoulders.

As she turned around, what she saw amazed her. Light pink wings, larger than they ever were before covering her back and they stretched out a little farther than that. "Oh my gosh..." Pastelcub breathed, dazzled at her larger wings. "I didn't know.. they'd get this big!" She mewed to herself.
The cub raced out the door of the nursery, trying to get more room to stretch out her wings without hitting anyone sleeping. It early dawn and the sun had barely risen over the territory, so not that many other Colouredclanners were up unless they were out patrolling or were real early birds.

Pastelcub bounced over to the center of the camp, noticing only a few others awake and stretching out her wings as wide as they could go. "Wow!" She exclaimed as her light pink wings opened, the wings being a few inches larger than the cub herself. Pastel was giddy with joy at her newly grown wings. spacehere
If he had wings he imagined Greymatter would have had some kind of heart attack by now, given his penchant for running amok and getting lost on just his own four limbs. Mudkit had just woken up himself, yawning with his pink tongue rolling out and his tail curling into an 'S' at his back as he rose to his paws. A flurry of motion and excitement had him looking sharply to the den exit and he spotted the striped tail vanish around the corner quickly enough to pinpoint who it was. Pastelcub! His cousin, he supposed was the word? And Half siblings though that was not something he was aware of.
In quick bounds he went running along after her, curious as to what set her fleeing the den so quickly; but once he stepped out into the camp she'd vanished.
Mudkit blinked, both mismatched eyes narrowing in confusion as he looked around. She couldn't have gotten too far, so where had she gone? It was almost like she had simply vanished-or so he thought, until his eyes landed on the pink wings folded over someone standing off to the side. Having been looking for the tiny winged tiger he hadn't though twice on seeing those. But it was soon clear this was her.
    OH!
To be able to have wings and fly-he'd love to more than anything and he raced circles around the tiger cub, "Pasty! Your wings got big! Can you fly with those?"

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0pt; text-align: justify; width: 320px;]Watching from afar, trying not to give away the fact that - out of all the things he'd end his life for, it was probably the innocence of children - Permafrost rose a brow at the excited cub and the enthusiastic Mudkit. "Well would you look at that." He hums, standing up and prowling closer. He investigated Pastelcub lightly, making sure there was no damage or blood. Half of him hoped her wings had just grown like that of any other baby bird. Downy feathers turning into aerial feathers and all that.

He vaguely remembered when he could not control the mutation of wings for this body, his angelic being pushing them out roughly. They had sprouted from his shoulders, spurting blood and shining bone, meat and tendons collecting on them harshly as feathers grew in. He hadn't been able to walk for a few days after that as he recuperated.

"You might be able to hover if you flap hard enough." The former commander hums, a purr in his throat as he sits down.

Nighttales would sport a hum towards Whitegold's enthusiastic child, as they pranced around due to their newfound growth-spurt in wingspan. Night had never attained wings, though he didn't quite believe that flying would be his sort of thing, anyway. He preferred to remain well-grounded - in case it ever decided to swallow him up, eventually. Nah, not really; that was more of a joke, that nobody would likely get. "Just don't do anything dangerous whilst trying to fly, alright?" He didn't want the child to be leaping off of roofs, like the incident that Shoyo had initially planned out.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=transparent; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=transparent; width: 425px;]★ ★ ★ -- Pastelcub watched as Mudkit hopped around her and how he admired her wings. But flying, the thought hadn't occured to her until her cousin asked her. "Flying... I don't even know!" Pastel purred. The tiger really did hope she would be able to fly with her wings, it would be really useless if she couldn't.
The cub then nodded as Permafrost spoke, her eyes shining like the sun. "I'll try, I hope it works!" She said before turning to Nighttales and nodding, "Okay, I'll try my hardest to be safe when I fly."

Pastelcub took a deep breath before flapping her wings as hard as she could. Her face scrunched up as she put all of her focus into getting off the ground. Slowly, but surely, the tiger cub got off the ground. She was only about a one foot off the ground when Pastel opened her eyes. She was beaming with happiness. "I did it!" She mewed with glee. As the cub spoke she fell off balance and she began to get unstable off the ground.
Her light pink wings beat in the air and she was now topsy turvy in the air. Pastel bit down on her lip before slowing down how fastly she was flapping her wings in the air. Almost to the ground, just focus... A few inches off the ground, Pastelcub stopped flapping her wings before falling on her face.

"Ouch, whoops, hehe." Pastel pulled herself back up before shaking her fur. "That was.. fun!"spacehere
• [fancypost borderwidth=0pt; text-align: justify; width: 320px;]Permafrost laughed, although it was in good nature. "Good first attempt." Praised the servaline as he strode closer to the cub. With a low, rumbling hum, he outstretches his massive wingspan in a gesture. "For quadruped creatures like us, we need to balance on our back legs briefly to get a good take off." He says, leaning back slightly on his haunches as his wings flapped lightly. "Then, just like jumping, we leap and our wings carry us."

He takes one bound forward, his wings coming down hard to catch the current of the breeze. Content now that he was two or so feet off the ground, he rotated to look back at Pastelcub. "Eventually, flying will be as easy as walking to you."

  • There was so much supernatural stuff in this world, it was amazing to her. She watched the girl try to fly when she walked up. She grinned, swishing her tail happily. "Good job!" She barked.
