[align=center][fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px; width: 400px;][font=arial][justify][size=8]He was usually quite energetic. A little walking rarely ever wore him out, and he could keep going for hours without a break. However, it seemed that his constant traversing through unfamiliar territory was beginning to exhaust him. Breaks were becoming more frequent; first every few hours, then every half hour, then every ten minutes or so. His soft pink paw pads ached, along with his sore legs. And to make his current situation just a little more frustrating, he was hungry and thirsty. How long had it been since he had last managed to catch a meal? If he could recall correctly, it was yesterday, around noon.
He was about to pause for a few minutes to regain his energy when the faintest scent of other animals filled his senses. Was it prey, or actual civilization? Heck, even just one person to talk to would have been nice. While some of his childhood was spent in almost complete solitude, with his mother and father being exceptions, at some point he had found and joined a group of friendly animals. WindClan. He had also lived in other groups for a while, to be with and support his friends or to just get away for a while. But that didn't change the fact that he considered WndClan to be his true home and family.
So why did he leave? Well, as stated before, he liked to get away sometimes. A vacation, if you will. It seemed that this vacation had become drawn out, and eventually just blossomed into an adventure. It had been over a year since he joined WindClan initially, and while he was still pining to be back in his first clan, he felt that it was time to see what else the world had to offer. Maybe it was just curiosity, maybe it was just that he was afraid to see how much it had changed. He wasn't sure.
Whatever, back to the present. The moment he picked up the scent of other animals, his paws did not hesitate to advance towards the source of the scent. Whether it belonged to friend or foe, he wasn't sure. But his curiosity had already gotten the better of him. With every few feet he got closer to the smell, it got closer and stronger. And soon enough, with one final step, it was overwhelming. There were so many different scents mingling! A wave of nostalgia washed over him, warming his heart. It may not have been prey, but it was still something!
"Hellooo? Anyone there? Probably shouldn't be keeping a guest waiting!" Icarus called out to anyone that might be around, a friendly smile tugging the corners of his mouth upward. It may not be WindClan, but with any luck, it would be something amazing. Or so he hoped.
