hey, i'm silver! i'm looking for some people that would be willing to do some kind of fantasy rp with me. i'm really in the mood for something medieval like the lord of the rings or just d&d inspired stuff. i'm not really planning on any really in-depth plot with twists and stuff, (i don't really have too much time for heavy plotting) i'd really just like some adventure for our characters to go on that involves fantasy creatures and races, magic, and so on. obviously we're on the advanced board, so if you're willing to create a little role-play with me, please be literate and willing to put in the effort for several paragraphs! again, i'm not looking for any pafp or romance here, just a small group (2-5 other people) that would be willing to do some roleplaying.
fantasy anyone? // plotting

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 500px; font-family:arial; text-align:justify]Hi, I'm Bear! I would love to do a fantasy rp of some kind, especially something LOTR or d&d inspired. Is there something specific you had in mind, or are you just looking to do an adventure/quest style plot?
[/fancypost] -
[justify]hi, i'm loco! i don't know a whole lot about d&d sadly, but i'd still be really into something medieval/fantasy/adventure based.
-
hello you two! thank you for your interest! i didn't really have any big plots, just the general idea of a small group going on some sort of quest? they could be stuck together in some bad situation or hired as mercenaries to perform some task (assassination, dragon slaying, treasure fetching?). i'm thinking there could be some war going on between two groups, like two kingdoms or races so our characters wouldn't necessarily get along at first and have to gain each others' trust. how does that sound? sorry, i don't exactly have a set plot, but i have a lotta muse. :3
loco ; don't worry! i was just planning on throwing some d&d creatures or general themes in, the entire thing won't be based in it.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 500px; font-family:arial; text-align:justify]That all sounds great! Sometimes its nice just to have a thread where you don't have a set plot in mind - makes writing a bit more interesting, since it keeps your options open c: I like the idea of some kind of conflict going on in the background while our characters set out on this quest. If you want it to be between different races, I have a half-orc character who might be useful as part of the adventuring group (if you want to go with the traditional 'everybody thinks orcs are evil' scenario haha). Though ultimately I'm fine with whatever you guys want to do!
Perhaps our characters could be working together to find some kind of valuable treasure, as you mentioned, but people fighting for both sides of the war also want whatever the item is? It would create conflict within the group and add another threat on top of whatever the party has to face in order to reach said treasure c:
[/fancypost] -
yessssss bear! i'm honestly so sick of waiting a week and half for a dozen people to finish their forms to get a roleplay started. i'm here to write, not spend hours intricately plotting my character's entire persona and waiting for others to do the same (though sometimes there are exceptions). i really want just an open fantasy world that we can toss in anything we'd like without having to worry if it falls in the realm of 'reality' for that particular universe.
i love the idea of you having a half-orc! i'm thinking of having a human ranger, maybe a former soldier? he might be someone who's dabbled in some magic as well, but not much. if there is a war going on between orcs and humans, then the two of them would really hate each others' guts. and loco, you can chose whatever you want for your character, i already love having multiple races together in a group. i also have a friend that might be joining us, i've pmed them and i'm now awaiting a response.
i feel like the group would be working with some third party to retrieve the treasure. our characters might be putting aside all their grudges against one another for the good of the world to get the treasure, and stop the war. or they could just be in it for themselves, wanting payment after they retrieve the treasure. as for the war itself, any ideas? we could always go with orcs vs. humans, but that might be bit stale. we could try to mix it up but i don't now how likely it would be for elves or halflings to team with orcs, given their nature.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 500px; font-family:arial; text-align:justify]Aaah, I'm looking forward to this rp already!! A ranger character seems pretty cool c: Not sure if I want mine to go down the traditional berserker warrior route, or have an odd class like a monk or paladin. Either way, they'll have some pretty strong opinions and will almost definitely end up clashing with your guy ehehe
Hmm... as for the war; maybe its not between two species, but rather two regions? As in the kingdom in the mountains and the kingdom by the ocean are warring over land, so there's a mix of different races involved rather than just two? There could even be a race split between each side (a mountain tribe of orcs and a coastal tribe, for example) just to mix things up a bit.
[/fancypost] -
i'm looking forward to this too! that would be cool if your character was something non-traditional like that.
be a druid. ha no.i'm really excited to see how well our characters don't get along. i'm thinking my character is gonna be some sadistic killer? maybe he got kicked from the military for dabbling in magic or just overall stupid recklessness.i like the idea of two different regions fighting each other, and the different terrain. i'd love for our characters to go through mountains, forests, different environments and towns and such. also, what about this treasure they're looking for? i would assume its something magical, and it has to be important enough to be able to change the outcome of the world drastically. maybe something like a weapon or an article that gives its wearer a whole lotta power, but kinda corrupts them?
oops basically the one ring. sorry not sorry. -
[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 500px; font-family:arial; text-align:justify]I think I'll go with a paladin half-orc, to nicely oppose your guy. I'm thinking my character swore an oath of vengeance years ago (perhaps his tribe was destroyed in the war??? I'll probably go into his motivations in more detail in the rp), and took up this quest to try and stop the conflict.
That looks like a good idea for the treasure! Perhaps it could be a crown or a gauntlet of some kind
or we could just rip off the one ring that would be fine too ehehe, as you suggest, that both sides want in order to show that they are the true leader who should rule over the whole land?

[fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-size: 11px; font-family: times new roman; text-align: left; width: 350px;][align=center]hi. yes.

[font=georgia][color=white]hey there! i'd love love love a fantasy plot, especially medieval fantasy. i have a few ideas for simple plots. are you looking more for lotr type adventure or something different? i also have some ideas for dragon type threads. whatever you're interested in! if you give me some topics i can try to come up with some ideas c: i'm really busy today but i would love to plot and write with you
-
ahhhhh sorry for the late response! i've been pretty busy lately.
bear ; oooh yes that will be nice. i like how your character has that kinda motivation
mine probably won't ha. just money probably.i like the idea of a gauntlet, so its like you have all that power literally in your hands. it could probably be from some old king or really powerful mage in the past that used it for good or evil.sauron.do we want our guys to be paid to do this, or out of vengeance/boredom/for the good of the world? if they were paid, would we want it to be one side specifically, or just a dude that's like "hey let's stop killing each other. go fetch this magic glove for me and i'll give you money."?resaren ; hello. yes. welcome. do you have any character ideas that will fit in with bear's and mine? any plot ideas? hmmmmm?
@spooky milky; heyo! would you want to join the adventure plot that bear, sar and i are doing? you can read our previous posts if you want, but its basically your medieval fantasy adventure. we're going to have our characters go on a quest to retrieve a magical item (gauntlet maybe) to end a war between two different regions. it would have a bunch of different races and magic stuffs.
if you want though, you can totally convince me to do a different plot with just you specifically. if you want to do this group one we could probably fit in whatever ideas you have too. and yes please dragons.
-
[font=georgia][color=white]That sounds great! I would love to!
-
[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 500px; font-family:arial; text-align:justify]I like the idea of there being some kind of neutral party that could pay or otherwise employ our characters to go and retrieve the gauntlet. Then there could be a variety of people from both sides of the conflict in the final adventuring group, who've all been brought together thanks to the promise of peace/money/whatever c:
[/fancypost] -
@milky; sweet! you can think up the gist of your character if you want. we're really just going with typical fantasy races: humans, elves, halflings, dwarves, orcs, and so on. bear has a half-orc paladin and i have a human archer, so if you wanted to have your character fit in with them that would be great. maybe a mage to spice things up a bit and add some magic if you want?
bear ; yeah, i really love having a lot of diversity in groups as far as races and classes. then everyone has their own specialty and place among the group.
@both of you; so how would we wanna start this off? them all meeting at a tavern (original, i know) to meet up with the guy that wants them to fetch the gauntlet? they could all know the guy for some reason or another, and since he all knows them fairly well he could send out messages to them, asking them to help him out. i'd assume none of them know each other either, so they'll really be a hodgepodge group the guy put together to go on a quest for him.
also, i do believe sar will be roleplaying with us, they'll just really busy right now and will probably jump in the rp once we make it.

[font=georgia][color=white]
Awesome. I'm mad busy nowadays but I definitely still want to join! I'll probably make an elf mage to balance things out. Can we maybe somehow incorporate dragons somehow? (I'm a ho for dragons). Or we can make a private thread having to do with dragons or something c:The tavern idea sounds good to me!
-
[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 500px; font-family:arial; text-align:justify]The tavern sounds like as good a place to start as any! And dragons are always fun c: It's a pretty open plot, so it might be neat to include them at some point?
[/fancypost] -
yessss! i just had the idea of maybe they stumble across/have to go through a dragon's nest? that would be so epic. okay, unless you guys have any more ideas or questions, shall we start the roleplay? i'm afraid i won't have it up until about midday tomorrow, i won't have much time until then. but i'll get on it as soon as i can!
-
[font=georgia][color=white]I'm fine with that! I likely won't be able to respond much until after work tomorrow (around 7 EST at the latest) and it's dependent on homework and how exhausted I am too. Hopefully it won't be that bad!
-
[sub] wow, super into d&d right now so i'd definitely be interested, but i'm really busy tomorrow. i'll try to develop something this weekend
