  • [fancypost bordercolor=transparent; width: 450px][justify][font=georgia]"So you see the future?"
"No. I see... glimpses of possibilities. Things that could happen."
"Is that what I am to you? A possibility?"
"No. I decided on you a long time ago."

It had been too soon. In truth it was actually a few weeks, but still, eternities too soon. He could spend every single day on this world with her and that still wouldn't be enough. Talking to her was so easy. Being with her was so easy. It was like second nature to him. Pressing his nose into her fur, wrapping his arms around her neck and embracing her in a gentle kiss... The memories sent shivers down his spine. How he had lived so long without her was beyond him. Nothing mattered anymore. Nothing except for her.

And yet... Here he was, back in BlizzardClan without her. Alice had thought it would be best for the two of them to go back to their respective clans. They had things to do, duties to attend to. Even as much as he didn't think so, people back here cared about him. Soon, she'd promised him. Soon they would be together. It's not like they could both stay in one place for too long. Besides, the thought of life without her caused a physical ache in chest.

He just felt so open around her. He didn't feel like a failure, like a murderer. His past didn't matter anymore. She didn't see him as a monster -- she saw him as him. She didn't care that he hated himself; he loved her so much that he forgot what it was like to hate himself. His whole life he'd just been waiting to meet her; everything was complete now.

And standing there, without her, hurt. Jasper was at the border, fidgeting with his paws. He looked relatively the same, however now his eyes were a shade of gold, not crimson like they typically were. The air around him was... different. No long was there a sense of dread that followed where he went, but one of -- of hope. There was still a longing look on his face, however he still was so much less depressed than he previously had been. He remained at the border, unsure of himself. Alice had reassured him that the clan would welcome him with open arms, even if he had been gone for quite awhile, but sometimes her visions were wrong. So there he was, awkwardly waiting for someone to appear.

(( this was so soon lmao but i just wanted him back haha ))

Fresh, too, has a significant other that he would feel empty without. While he doesn't love Truepaw in an over-romantic way, such as kisses and other adult actions, he does truly love them. They have stuck with him through thick and thin, and has never once judged him. Not to mention that they are kind, sweet, adorable- the list goes on and on. In short, he loves Truepaw.

Pupils dragging across the scenery around him, he would blink, taking note of a leaf that had fallen to the ground. Summer is ending. How unfortunate, really. He loved the warm air the season provided, and the fun activities that one may do. He has heard that during autumn and winter, the lakes and rivers freeze over, making them impossible to swim in. For an axolotl such as himself, that fact is rather dreadful. He certainly isn't looking forward to the cold months to come.

Halting in his tracks, the male would hesitate as he noticed the familiar stature of Jasper, who was standing by the border. while he wasn't there for the combatant's disappearance, he has noticed that he wasn't around that often. it's as if he vanished into thin air. Quickening his pace, he would smile as he neared the fellow male, his tail fin wagging slowly. In the time that Jasper was gone, he has changed his act by quite a bit, but that's a different subject altogether.

"hello!" he greeted happily, his squeaky voice cracking just a tiny bit. "where were you? did you have fun? what was it like?" Kneading his paws against the ground, the mutated axolotl would allow his smile to grow. Yes, he has changed quite a bit, and apparently so has Jasper. Although he is unable to note the difference in the air, he did notice the change in eye color. "why are your eyes different?" that's possibly a rude question, but he couldn't help it.

  • [fancypost bordercolor=transparent; width: 450px][justify][font=georgia]Jasper had smelled Fresh from far away -- and recoiled. He had been away from others for so long; had they always smelled so appetizing? No, definitely not. This was something he was going to have to get used to. He pulled himself together seconds before the mutated creature arrived, however his nose was wrinkled as he stopped breathing. He took in the questions with a tiny smile; ah, so they had noticed his sudden disappearance. That was good, he guessed. Alice had been right after all.

"I was out with..." He hesitated. How could he describe Alice? Girlfriend? No, that wasn't enough to encompass what they were. Wife? They hadn't gotten married yet. Soul mate? Other half? While it fit better, that just sounded cheesy. "Someone." He decided. It would've been easier if his secret was out -- then he could explain that all vampires had someone, another that was made for them. Fate, destiny, whatever. But his secret wasn't out and he wasn't going to say that.

"I had an amazing time." Jasper admitted, smiling back at the memories. "Better than you could ever imagine." He sighed. The answers were vague, yes, but he wasn't quite ready to tell everyone the whole story. He was still caught up in his reverie when the last question hit him. His... eyes? He frowned before realization slapped him across the face.

In truth, his eyes had changed because he had switched to a more humane diet. No longer was he killing innocent lives, he had changed to non-sentient prey animals. It was awful, and was the cause of Fresh's scent being considerably more desirable. He averted his gaze, trying to think of a reasonable answer. "Er, it's the... light." He answered. Stupid. He scolded himself. He cleared his throat and quietly changed gears. He eyed the male's leg, which was miraculously back. "So, I see I've missed some, huh?" He said, a light smile on his face.

She had a significant other; a husband, at that. They had stuck by eachother, somehow, since they had been kids. Or at least - somewhat, anyway. Matty had disappeared for a while, departed because he had believed that it would have been for her sake. He had believed that everything had always been his fault, and he had went on, carrying the burden alone, all the while.. That had occurred, whilst the servaline had plowed on with her leadership, trying to protect those dear to her - keeping her heart in several places at once.

But, Matty had returned. They had found themselves together, again, and with children at that. They had a wonderful little family.. And Tama couldn't possibly be happier. She could assure Jasper that, if he loved someone that dearly, then he would surely find himself by their side, once again. The world was a cruel place, at times, but there were its brief, fleeting, but treasured moments of solace, that one shouldn't allow to slip between their metaphorical fingers.

There was no doubt that the servaline had considered Jasper as a friend, which was why his departure had been so.. conflicting. If he had left willingly, to fulfil another, brighter path, which he had preferred, then she'd have been happy for him. In fact, she had berated herself, for wishing that he had stayed instead. There was no doubt that she'd miss him, but she understood that.. if there was another place he wished to be - another choice he wished to make - another path he wished to follow - then as long as he was taking care of himself, then she'd understand, and support his decisions.

Whilst, were he ever to return, she'd welcome him back with open arms - just as Alice had predicted, after all, it seemed.

The leader weaved her way over, halting by Fresh, as her ashen orbs settled on Jasper's prominent frame. Surprise would skirt her features, before such an expression of shock would be replaced by a brightened smile. "Jasper!" Tama would chirp. It had, at first, seemed as if he had been somewhat.. somber, but his demeanour seemed a little less tense, nevertheless. As he spoke, however, it seemed as if.. everything had shifted, to a brighter tone. There was the subject, regarding his eyes, where his attitude had briefly faltered, but she wouldn't pry into that - he was lying for a reason, after all, and she understood if he didn't wish to voice whatever had happened. "Welcome back!" Instead, she was simply relieved that he had returned, and safely, at that.
