  • [fancypost bordercolor=transparent; width: 450px][justify][font=georgia]Alice had been denying herself food. The pain of being around others and smelling the blood underneath their skin was physically painful. And it was... nice. It was the only thing she could feel. She had completely shut down. No more emotions, no more anything. It was better, though. Of course, there was still a gaping hole in her chest. When things got too bad, she found herself hyperventilating on the ground, clutching her heart and waiting for the excruciating pain to dull down to a soft ebb. It never left. But becoming apathetic helped; now these vicious attacks only happened once every few days instead of multiple times a day.

But it was getting too hard to control herself. She knew she needed to hunt; that was revealed to her when an NPC got a little too close and she jumped, her instincts taking over for a brief second. If she hadn't been so in control, she would've lost it and killed a clanmate. It was getting out of hand. So she slipped out of camp and went hunting. The experience was exhilarating. She was doing what she was made for, and for a second, the pain faded until she couldn't feel it anymore. But as soon as she was done with her little frenzy, the ache was back.

Her expression cold, she returned back to camp. She physically looked better, though. The dark circles under her eyes had faded until they were almost unnoticeable; her eyes changed from black to liquid gold; her face seemed a little plumper and not unnervingly gaunt. With a sigh, she took a seat, eyes on the clouds above her.

It was a bitch to deal with, though, especially considering small pieces of freshkill never seemed to really cut it. She hadn't tried to go for a cat, nor a dog, nor...really anything that reminded her of a clanmate. Just mice, birds, the odd deer that had taken the wrong direction. Deer was certainly the most satisfying, and she was sure if she went for larger creatures more often she wouldn't have to satisfy her bloodlust near as much as she usually did. But she couldn't, wouldn't - she wasn't that desperate. Not yet, anyways.

She noticed, as Alice returned to the town, that she seemed more perky. Physically-wise, anyways. She knew the girl was a vampire as well, and could only assume she had done something about the constant lust for blood that it seemed she may have been trying to ignore lately. Not wanting to outwardly comment on that, though - she figured it wasn't the best public conversation to had, she simply padded over to Alice, giving her a smile. "Hey, Alice. How's it going?" she asked, keeping her tone light and casual.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; text-align: justify; font-family: verdana; color:#;]Cleo had noticed a drastic change in both the other girl's demeanor and appearance. For one, looking at Alice was even more like looking into a mirror for the new SunClanner. Both had dark fur and metallic irises, with Cleo's being a little browner than Alice's. Their uncanny resemblance was definitely something she'd have to bring up in the near future.

Coming to a stop beside Partyanimal, the slight molly smiled at the one who had been the first to welcome her to the clan. "Weh yuh ah seh? What're you up to?" she inquired. Having to immediately translate her words was getting tedious, but small phrases were easy to do.

Maybe it was because his mother turned him, even it was on accident, or maybe it was being it made him feel better physically, but it was never such a bad thing. Blood tasted nice, and he had enough self control not to feed on clan-mates, only prey and the occasional Exiler.

As he noticed his upset friend, he walked over, taking a stand next to Partyanimal. He'd been seeing signs of Alice rejecting blood lately, but it only seemed out of hand the one time she'd jumped a clan-mate. Thankfully she hadn't actually hurt the NPC, and seeing her leave camp, he assumed that she was going to go hunting. Obviously, she had consumed some kind of blood, since she looked much better than before. It was great, and he was proud of her, but now she seemed more down, and he wasn't sure why. For a second he wondered if it had something to do with the incident the other day on the beach, but he wouldn't bring it up now, not in front of everyone. Maybe when he caught her alone.

"Hey Alice, everyone. How are we all doing today?" He said before leaning in towards the she-cat, saying quieter, "Are you alright?"

[fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=; width: 450px; margin-top: -4px;][justify][font=arial][size=9pt][color=#969696]She had never really spoken to Alice about what she was, or what Immy assumed her to be. Quite frankly, it was obvious that her friend was a vampire, or some other bloodsucking creature, and the black-gold eye change was only her confirmation. But what to do, what to do? Sucking on her bottom lip, the creature would approach, odd mismatched gaze reflecting more amber then red and yellow. "Dwelling on things you cannot change does not make a difference in the already determined outcome," she decided to voice aloud, monotone voice blunt and to the point. What was the point in feeling something only momentarily, to shut down immediately again? Hypocritical she knew, but still.

  • [fancypost bordercolor=transparent; width: 450px][justify][font=georgia]Alice watched helplessly as Par approached. These days, she just wanted to be alone, to wallow in her self-pity in peace. But, of course, that didn't happen. It was unavoidable to try to, well, avoid everyone. She was the other, her face drained of any emotion. Such a drastic change from the person she used to be. Not too long ago, she would've jumped at the sight of her guild leader and indulged in conversation, but now... Well, now all her life was drained out of her. Again.

At the tiger's question, the Keeper let out a dry laugh lacking humor. How was it going? She had half the mind to throw herself a pity party and cry about how she had recently lost the love of her life to someone else. But she decided against it. Even the thought of mentioning recent events caused the pain in her chest to sharpen. She unknowingly lifted her paw to clutch her heart and swallowed thickly. "It's going." She answered breathlessly. She knew her response was vague -- she intended it to be. Hopefully Par would get the unsubtle drift that she wasn't wanting to talk about herself. Controlling the tremors of her paws, she slowly took a seat.

Alice turn her attention to Cleo, who now looked uncannily like the nanogirl. Her eyes were a tad darker, but give it a few days and Alice's would match the tone. Her ears flicked at the strange language she spoke. It was vaguely similar to English; like someone with a very heavy accent was speaking. Maybe once she'd ask what dialect she was speaking, but now she was uninterested.

At her question, she raised her shoulders in a mechanical shrug. "Nothing." She said, her voice hollow. It was true -- she wasn't doing anything of importance, except for maybe trying to find a way to politely excuse herself so she could have her twentieth breakdown this week. She pushed the idea to the back of her mind; she'd have to learn how to deal with others properly. Lightly closing her eyes, she searched her future, seeing if maybe anything changed.

But it hadn't. She still saw herself being miserable and him being happy. She grimaced as if she had been slapped in the face. Her body shook even more than it had previously and her throat closed. That was a dumb idea. She was about to lose her complete shit when she sensed another approaching.

Forcing her striking gold eyes open, she watched the rather peculiar, glitching creature pad up. Alice didn't know him -- even without photographic memory, she would've remembered meeting him. Her brief curiosity dulled the pain in her chest. She strained to understand the stuttering male, her brows furrowing -- the only sign of any sort of emotion she'd shown in quiet awhile.

"Um, okay." Alice said. How was she supposed to respond? She barely understood what he had uttered. "Alice." She introduced slowly, blinking at the strange figure. He certainly was... something.

At one time, she would've agreed -- this whole thing was utterly boring. But now, she was totally overwhelmed. There were so many things on her mind to keep her occupied for years. Boring was definitely not the word she would use to describe the setting. As he asked if she had conjuration, she robotically shook her head. "I don't have powers." She lied. She wasn't about to give away her secrets. While the other vampires in the clan knew, most everyone else didn't, and she'd like to keep it that way. Besides, of the powers she possessed, conjuration wasn't one of them, so it wasn't a complete lie.

Everytime Caleb spoke, more questions were asked. Awhile ago, she would've bombarded him with queries. She would've talked to him for hours upon hours trying to get a feel for him. But now, she just pushed her questions aside. She didn't care, really. She sighed, eyes downcast for a brief moment.

Then came the nosebleed. She sat up ramrod straight, her eyes widening. She was suddenly very thankful she had just hunted. Otherwise, well, his life would be a lost cause. In less than a second, she would've sank her fangs into him and drained him off his blood. But since she ate, she only had a moderately uncomfortable sensation in her throat. That was far better than the overwhelming desire to kill him.

Alice was glad when Suga approached, mostly so she could turn her attention from the blood to him. She listened to his innocent question and then his words directed only towards her. She bit her bottom lip to prevent it from quivering. She was ready to burst into metaphorical tears. No! She wanted to scream. "No, I'm not doing alright."

But she held down the words that were in her throat. Instead, she tugged her lips up in a bittersweet smile. "I'm hanging in there." She said, holding back all the emotion that wanted to cover her words.

Then came Immy. She was kind of grateful for the girl's appearance. On the other hand, though, she wished she hadn't come. She didn't want anyone to see her like this, and her close friend was no exception. As she spoke, Alice wrapped her arms over her chest, feeling the hole inside of her take over. She stopped breathing (although breathing wasn't really necessary for her; it was just uncomfortable), the wind sucked out of her.

Slowly, she regained herself. She still had one paw on her chest, but she had begun breathing again. Her breaths were short and shallow, unable to get enough unnecessary air into her lungs. "You don't think I already know that?" Alice snapped, her voice shrill and shaky.

Slowly but surely, Alice was starting to unravel.

The goddess's voice was sad and it lacked her usual arrogant tone. I can't do this again. Why did history always repeat itself with her and the people she got close to? I should stop bothering. With a growing amber gaze, she'd coldly watch Alice for a moment, struggling internally with not only her emotions but also her past. "You know, but you're willingly going back to the darkness. Into a state of numbness, of hatred and even bitterness." It always happened, and she could never stop it. She needed to get out of here and the rising panic wasn't going to help her either. She paid Caleb no attention, careful to not direct attention to the blood. Her diluted bloodline was helping in that regard, making her bloodlust faint. "I, uh.." she heard herself say, but then her voice stopped again. Flickering a white ear, she'd turn and leave, momentarily mirroring Alice's movement, as her paw was on her chest as well, holding that broken heart symbol protectively. Yet she offered nothing in explanation, and merely left.

little jack was new to the world, and didn't know vapirism existed, and what it did. he didn't know anyone could crave blood, or kill to get it. as a kit, he wasn't introduced to that, especially since he has only been in the outside world for a small while. he saw alice and partyanimal as friends, people who would never harm him, and clan members who would protect him. if anything, he craved their attention. but even a little kit who knew not of vampires and werewolves, could understand a change in personality. frankly, he didn't care or notice much, but it was still odd. "hi alice!" he piped. he didn't know alice well, but he's always felt comfortable around her.
