  • “Of course.” she whispered softly before making a face, screwing up her nose and sticking her tongue out before sharing her head. “Oh my god. I so did not want to think about that.” she announced after a second, the idea actually making her want to vomit a little bit, though she didn’t want to be too overdramatic and tell him that. I’m going to have to have s*x with Tony. We’re expected to have children. I’m going to have to have a lot of s*x with Tony. she thought, the idea not even totally registering in her brain.

After a long second of standing there, holding him, she pulled away and brushed a piece of her hair to the side, smirking. “Who knows? Maybe you’ll have gotten paired with a girl that looks just like me. Then you won’t even have to pretend it’s me when the two f you are doin’ it…” she announced as she moved back to her bag, shooting him a teasing wink, ignoring the unhappy feeling in her gut at the thought of him having s*x- and like her and Tony, a lot of it- with someone else. “Wouldn’t that be lucky for you?"

  • "Oh, please. No girl can look like you. I mean, she could, but it wouldn't make up for the fact it isn't actually you..." Avery replied as she walked away, smiling when she winked. He bit his lip, then smirked. "I might just moan your name out thinking about you, though. Then what am I gonna do?"

  • Eden rolled her eyes at his compliment, about to tell him off for being such a dumb*ss, but then he stopped her with that stupid, stupid question of hers and she just stared at him, her face bright red. “You’re not going to f*ckign do that.” she whispered after a second, narrowing her eyes at him after a moment and then shaking her head. “No way. You wouldn’t do that. I don’t believe you. That would be… Oh my god, that would be so f*cking terrible… What if I did that?” she asked a second later, looking at the boy with wide eyes, though they were shining with a certain deviousness too.

“At least your match will barely know me! You and Tony were in primary school together for three years!” she said, looking at him for a long second before putting a hand over her mouth and groaning. “Oh, f*ck, what do you think would happen,…?” she groaned at the end, the entire concern entirely new to her-. She didn’t really go around thinking of s*x when it wasn’t with Avery.

  • “When? When it does happen? Mr. Michaud, you are starting to sound awfully, awfully confident.” she said with a smirk, raising an eyebrow at him before rolling her eyes and crossing her arms over her chest, not about to tell him that she had literally negative plans of every having s*x with Tony. That would be weird, and a little obsessive, and though she was sure that he’d appreciate the sentiment, he probably wouldn’t believe that she would carry through with it, and she didn’t want that added pressure on her. Refusing her ‘match’ would be hard enough.

“But if I do, I’ll name my firstborn after you.” she announced with a teasing smirk, looking over at him a second later and then going back to her bags. “That’s how confident I am that I’ll be able to hold it in. And it probably won’t be Avery, obviously, that’s too visible. But I’ll find a way. But only as long as you do the same.” she quickly added, looking at him with a smirk. “You moan my name, the baby gets my name."

  • ooc: I was thinking we just start with them walking into town? He would be welcomed by a committee from the New Order, and demand that Eden stay with him, at least until he got settled? Then they move in to the village (he in one house, her staying in a guest room in another), and he meets the girl and all that? I kinda want Eden to stay around as he meets the other girl. I have some plans for her (muahahah)

    INGRED REBEKAH CANE

Beka bit her lip and looked at herself in the mirror for a long second, wondering what she was staring at herself for. She had made sure that she hadn’t gotten any h*ckies the night before, or at least, any that would need covering up. She didn’t have a ton of clothes to chose from- in this town, everything was jeans and t-shirts all the time. They farmed here, for gods sake. And she didn’t even really want to pick out a nice outfit. She didn’t want to impress this guy. She had literally zero intention of impressing the man who was coming to ‘sweep her off her feet’ as Hailey had described earlier.

So, after deciding that her overalls- they were short ones, don’t worry, she wasn’t that socially inept- and her white t-shirt underneath were enough, she pulled her red hair into a long braid down her back and then walked down the stairs, ignoring her mother’s beaming smile at the bottom. Of course she’s excited. I’m meeting the ‘boy of my dreams’ today… she thought, having yet to tell her mother why the Council had thought it was so important that she have a guy all the way from another town, another Region, brought in for her. And that is NOT a conversation I’m going to have with them… she thought with a snort.

And, with that, she ran into the kitchen, grabbed an apple and a cup of milk, and then ran back outside, hoping to get some last minute time in with the baby goats they were keeping before her Prince Charming came to save her world.

ooc: I was thinking you just start with Avery coming into town? I’ll play the Council people and all.

    Avery Michaud

Avery looked around as they rode into the city on the train. He bit his lip, glancing over at Eden with a slight frown. "We're in the f*cking boonies. I don't like the country. What am I supposed to do out here? I'm not a farmer..." he grumbled, finding everything possibly wrong with the situation and taking it to the extreme. "I think I can still make a run for it. I'll just tuck and roll out of the caboose." He shot her a soft smile, then gently

    took her hand.

"I'm scared, Eddie." He blushed as he admitted his fear, biting his lip. "Really f*cking scared. I don't want to do this. What if she's a total jerk? What if I can't be nice to her? What amd I supposed to do then?" he grumbled, slowly standing as the train came to a stop. He gathered his bags and shuffled out of the train car, biting his lip as he stepped out and smelled the fresh air. It was so clean compared to the city air. It wasn't bad, but it was definitely not his favorite. The boy turned snd looked at her, eyes wide. "What am I supposed to do?"

Eden was relieved when Avery spoke because, up until that point, he’d just been staring out of the train with his thinking face on, his eyebrows crinkling up slightly, his hand pressed against the glass. And as much as she didn’t want him to leave, as much as she was nervous for herself, she was nervous for him more. She didn’t want him to be miserable. She hoped that he would fall in love with his match the second he saw her, that they’d realize they were destined to be together all along. She wanted him to be happy, and to find somewhere to work along the sea, because that was what he loved, and she was nervous that this town wouldn’t give him any of that.

At his words, though, she bit her lip, because she was realizing that he was right. Avery, her Avery, the Avery that hung out of cars and tried to open the windows of the trains and loved to go sailing and wanted to ride a horse, who wanted to be free, was stuck in the middle of the countryside, no water in sight, no paved roads around them. She tried to smile back at him when she saw his weak attempt for a grin, though she just looked away a second later, struggling to reassure him. “I’m sure we haven’t seen it all yet.” she murmured softly, looking out of the window and then squeezing his hand, giving him a small smile a second alter.

“And, if you are stuck in the country, then you’ll finally get to ride a horse like you always wanted. Maybe you’ll even own one. I don’t know, sexy, I think that sounds like a win. Much better than where we were before…” she said with a little snort, praying that did something to help him. “And no jumping off of the train. Giving you to someone else is hard enough, but if you died, I think I might actually kill myself. Go all Romeo and Juliet on your *ss.” she announced with a little grin, though she tightened her grip on his hand, pulling him closer.

She stood there in silence with him for another few seconds as cornfields and tomato plants and all sorts of other crops whizzed by them, though this time she was a little happier, and she prayed he was, too. When the silence was broken, she looked up, expecting him to crack another joke, but then he was confessing to her and she was a little taken aback. After a moment’s hesitation, she wrapped her arms around him, her hands finding his shoulders slowly, and then held him close, trying to reassure him. “You’re going to love her, I’m sure. You just have to give her a chance, and that’s what you always do. You’re Avery Michaud, baby. You’re the best person I know.”

And, with that, she let go of him, letting him get off the train, before biting her lip and grabbing her stuff and following after him, only walking up to his side once he stopped altogether, not wanting to push him forward too much. “I guess we go forward?” she offered after a moment before hearing the tapping of shoes, nice shoes, distinctly council shoes, on the train platform, and she looked up instead, her eyes narrowing with hate.

    councilman robert cane

Robert walked towards the train platform with a distracted frown across his face, rolling up the sleeves of his suit jacket as he did. He hated that he had to wear a suit, but it was Council regulation, and he’d been told that today was the most important day, probably of his entire career, to look official. So, despite the fact that the dust from the dirt road had settled on his pants before he even walked out of his house, and that he was sweating in the outfit due to the 94 degree weather, he wore the suit. One did not disobey when the Council told you to wear the suit.

When he saw the young couple on the train platform, he frowned for a second. He could have sworn that his daughter was still at home- she’d been petty much cursing them out since the day she found out about her actually getting matched, and he didn’t think that she would have rushed down here to greet the boy. After taking a few steps closer, though, and squinting his eyes, he realizing that the girl standing next to the boy- Avery- was not his daughter. This must be the girl.. he thought, needing no Council prompting to see that they were in love. Desperately in love.

But he ignored his thoughts and his guilt as he walked forward, his feet making that terrible tapping sound that he hated, before he paused in front of them and cleared his throat. “Michaud, Avery?” he asked, looking at the boy for a long moment before giving a little look to the girl and making a face. I hate my job. “And guest?"

  • Avery burried his head into her neck as she pulled him close, on the verge of tears once again. He faught them off, though, wanting to stay strong for her. When she pulled away and spoke, he nodded, ganing courage and strength from the squeeze to his shoulders and the confidence in her voice. He just nodded, a soft smile on his lips, then turned when he also heard the shoes.

The boy stood taller as the council members approached, thkugh his face didn't show happiness. In fact, he looked quite nervous. When the man stopped and spoke, he nodded. "Yes sir. That's me," he murmured. "Oh, and this is Eden, my best friend. I hope it's alright she tagged along to send me off?" he asked, biting hus lip once more.

ooc: no omg your post was a delight to read!! :-)

  • robert cross

“It’s acceptable.” Robert said stiffly, which really wasn’t that hard, though not for the reason the Council would have liked. He was supposed to be stiff, emotionless, so that nobody who spoke to him thought he could be swayed. His word had to be final and that was the end of the discussion. But, here… Here he was stiff because he was hurt. Hurt for them. Hurt for what the Council was doing to them. They were just two kids, and they’d already found each other, and they were being split up.

“Can I assume you are Fleming, Eden?” he asked after a moment, looking down at the tablet in his hand before looking back at the girl, his frown deepening slightly. F*ck, there’s a note in here about her and everything. These two really fought for each other… he thought before looking at them and keeping the grimace across his face when he saw Eden’s little nod.

“Miss Fleming will stay in the townhouse. Mister Michaud will stay in house 103, floor B.” he said stiffly before narrowing his eyes at the two. “It would not do well to put the two of you in the same house. It wouldn’t do well to keep you here at all, in fact, Miss Fleming, but he was allowed one guest, and that is why you are to stay. But your interactions should be minimal.” he warned before looking at whether bags and snorting. “Bring your bags. Follow.” he commanded before turning o his foot and marching off. I hope they know what they’re doing….

    eden fleming
“Our interactions should be minimal…?” Eden whispered, more to herself than anything when the Councilman in front of them spun away, her hand in his once again, fingers squeezing down hard to keep herself from doing something she’d regret, her jaw clenching up too. After a second, she let out a little growl and looked up at him, her eyes burning with hate. “I f*cking hate all of this. Every single person involved in this entire thing can die and burn in h*ll.’ she announced before taking her bag and wheeling it off.

She knew it was unfair to let him see just how angry she was, that she was supposed to be the one supporting him, but the man in front of them somehow knew about their situation, and they were still being treated like animals. Like their connection was something that would just fade away as time passed. They had no idea. After a second or two of storming off, she took a deep breath and then turned around, looking at Avery with an apologetic scowl- somehow she was pulling it off- across her face, and she just whispered, “I’m sorry. Are you coming?” refusing to waste even a single second of time with him, because, the moment they got there, those moments they had had become numbered, and they were slowly ticking away.

  • Avery watched the entire interaction, noticing the way Eden seemed to puff up at the councilman. He bit his lip to hold back his protests, then just nodded. He'd gotten them into plenty of trouble already, he didn't want to ruin anything else just yet. When the man abruptly turned away, he glanced down at Eden with a slight frown. When she suddenly grew angry, he winced the tiniest bit. That was the first time she had showed so much emotion about the conflict and, alrhough it was comforting to see she cared, he didn't want her to be angry.

"It's okay, love..." he murmured softly. The blond reached out and took her hand, lifting it to his lip to give the knot a brief kiss. "I'll sneak out and see you. And we'll get all this anger out over a pint of triple chocolate chunk ice cream," he murmured, though he wasn't sure if that was even possible here. "Okay?" he asked, gently tugging her along now.

  • “It’s not okay. They know that we want to be together. They literally know. They know to the point of there being a note in our files or whatever bullsh*t they send around.” she grumbled, though she let him take her hand and, when he felt his lips against her skin, she took a deep breath, trying her hardest to breathe out all her anger, to let it all go. After a moment of standing there with closed eyes, breathing, she opened them slowly and looked at him, trying her hardest at a smile. “I just wished they realized how f*cking dumb this all was.”

And, at that, she took her bag with her freehand and started walking forward once more, making sure, though, that this time around she kept her hand in his. Sure, part of it was because it just felt so nice, holding onto him, but there was another part of her that knew that, without him around to ground her, she’d go off on the next person they saw, no matter who it was. So she just walked with him, snorting when she heard his solutions. “Not triple chocolate. Moose tracks. Always moose tracks.” she corrected quickly, muttering the words under her breath, though she grinned at him a moment later and rolled her eyes.

“And I don’t know about that sneaking around thing, Ave.” she whispered after a second, hating that she was saying it, because she wanted nothing more than to spend time alone with him again. “I just… If they catch us, they might send me home. Early. And I can’t do that. I don’t want to say goodbye to you until the very last second.” she murmured softly, looking up at him with a little hopeful grin a second later. “So, ice cream, yes, sneaking around, no?” she finished with a quiet hope to her voice.

  • Avery smiled softly. "Okay. Ice cream. Moose tracks ice cream is the first of my demands as the newbie here," he teased, nudging her playfully. The man hummed, then leaned down, lowering his voice. "It's going to be hard without you sleeping next to me, though. I can tell you that now..."

  • “Yeah, it’s gunna be hard. But it best only be hard when you think of me.” Eden shot back after just a moment, her cheeks brightening at the comment, but she stuck by her guns, a smug smirk across her face. Too easy… she thought, looking at him with a smirk before rolling her eyes and giving him a little nudge. “Come on, Ave. Laugh. It’s good for you, I promise. You’re being all stiff and weird, and I hate it…” she grumbled after a moment, pouting at him playfully.

ooc: I’m sorry I’ll give them more direction in the next post this was just weird.

  • Avery bit his lip at her comment, trying his hardest not to think about how incredible it had been to be with her, in her, over her, under her. He adored every moment of it, and he knew he'd never feel that ever again. Her comment made him a bit sad, but soon he gave a soft laugh.

"I'm pretty sire it will only ever be hard for you," he responded. "I mean, at least after what I experienced the past few days. D*mn. How could any girl ever top that?"

  • “Well, that would be super embarrassing.” Eden said with a little snort when she heard his comment about ‘only her’, trying her hardest not to laugh. Sure, the sentiment was cute, but she wasn’t dumb. What she and Avery had was special, the most important thing in her life to her, but she didn’t think that would mean that he wouldn’t be aroused by other girls. Really. What was he thinking?

“Although I will say that, yes. No girl will ever be able to top what we did, because I’m f*cking fantastic.” Eden boasted teasingly, giving him a little nudge and then grinning when she heard his laugh however quiet. She looked up at him, her eyes filling with happiness just at the soft noise from him, and she just muttered, “You laughed…” with a pleased, shy, dumb smile across her face. She always loved it when he laughed.

“MISS Fleming.” Robert called when he heard the conversation behind them had come to a lull, turning quickly on his heels before looking at the girl and nodding. “This will be your room and board while you are staying to support Mr. Michaud. Go inside, the keeper will give you a room. You will be expected back in the room by nine o’clock every night. Food will be provided.” he reproted before turning to Avery and giving a tight nod.

“Mister Michaud, follow me. I will escort you to your new home, and you may put your bags down, but after that, I will take you to meet your match. No pint in delaying the happy meeting, am I right?” he asked stiffly at the end, understanding completely that not a single person in this little group of three- four, if you considered his daughter- was happy with what was about to happen. "The meeting will be private. Miss Fleming will stay here."
