[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 425px; text-align: justify; text-transform: lowercase; font-size:7pt;]the scent of blood lingered in the air, and it set the wolf's veins ablaze. his bright amber eyes were blown wide with black pupils as he stalked around a cherry blossom, a few pastel petals floating down to the trodden earth below. in his humanoid form, he might've taken the time to stop and appreciate the serenity of the scene, but the animal paid no mind to silly, useless things.

no, the wolf was more concerned with finding the man. his nostrils flared for a moment, trying to sift through the scents in the wind but the blood was strong and intoxicating. he'd already slaughtered two men, they'd ambushed him earlier but had quickly succumbed to the wolf's hostile nature. their deaths were messy and left blood dripping from his maw and his powerful legs. he was listening closely, his deft ears pointed forward to detect where the last man was hiding. there was no way in hell he'd let him escape. you couldn't tangle with a rabid animal and expect to walk away safely.

suddenly, the wind changed direction, which was incredibly fortunate for the wolf. he raised his nose into the air, drinking in the fear that radiated off of the nearby hunter. his strong paws set him in motion and soon enough, he was stalking his prey. rounding a corner, he caught the man's gaze. determined and enraged amber orbs were locked with wide, fiery blues as the man trembled. earlier, he'd seemed confident and skillfully trained, but now... now he had been reduced to a frightened young boy.

the wolf's tail flicked to the side, preparing to launch himself at the hunter and rip him to shreds. he wanted to make him suffer the same fate that his scumbag colleagues had. but there was a sound- a familiar yelling echoed across hanamura like a beacon shining through the animalistic haze in the wolf's mind. ears swiveled to meet the noise; it wasn't desperate or frantic, nor was it far off, but it had caught his attention long enough for the hunter to collect his bearings.

he was lunging at the wolf with a sharpened blade, but the wolf proved quicker and with one quick swoop, tossed the man aside with a dangerous paw. the hunter hit the ground with an "oof" and it wasn't long before the wolf had ripped him apart as well. briefly, the night was filled with the pained screams of the hunter, but in an instant, there was silence. the wolf had sustained minor cuts, but nothing to worry over. he trotted back out into the open, heading in the direction of the familiar yell from earlier. he saw the bowman and stopped ten feet away from him, staring him down like he was trying to decipher between friend or foe.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 425px; text-align: justify; text-transform: lowercase; font-size:7pt;]their current scenario fit along with the cliche of showdowns in western movies. one man stood poised and ready, and the other was the same a few feet away. except, the wolf didn't have his fingers twitching and ready to draw a revolver. his human form would have, then again, he wouldn't be standing hostilely in front of him.

the wolf relished in watching the blood sluice down the archer's arm and drip onto the ground. his tongue lolled out of his mouth to the side briefly as he imagined lapping it up and ripping the man to pieces. but then he spoke -- jesse... -- and the wolf grew alarmed. his head reeled back for a moment and he stamped his large front paw on the ground in confusion. his mind chanted a litany of friend! lover! hanzo! mate! and the wolf would've given in to slink its way into the shadows.

but the bowman flicked blood from his arm at the wolf's maw, which snapped him back into his primal state. his eyes blew wide before his lip curled into a vicious snarl, and then he was off. he was practically galloping, thundering down the beaten hanamuran path after the archer who'd pissed him off. he was hot on his heels, but the man was quick and swift.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:440px; color:white; font-family:arial; text-align:justify; margin-top:10px; padding-bottom:20px; font-size:8pt]The beast's mind had long-shifted into kill, kill, kill mode. It was like a big red alarm had gone off in the wolf's head and blood had glazed over his amber eyes. His giant paws carried him forward in a quick, steady cadence; he was on the archer's heels. Though it would've been easy for him to catch up with the other man, something inside of him made him trail behind him. It was almost like a game, or some sort of mental safeguard that held him back from simply leaping and downing the archer in one swoop.

He was weaving through the thickening trees, unknowingly thundering towards a cozy-looking cabin deep within the wood. Familiar scents began to block out his blood lust, but he kept focused on the prey before him. His ears perk once again when the bowman speaks – Jesse – and it dizzies the wolf. He tries to shake off the two-syllable word that stunned him but it's to no avail. Jesse, Jesse, Jesse! His mind is chanting again and it's disorienting the wolf but he presses on.
