  • [justify]The sound of her beating heart kept her awake. The night had been cold, and she had been left to stay tight lipped and wide eyed the entire night. The ritual of a new warrior standing guard on the night of their naming ceremony seemed to be a thing of completion, stepping up and fufilling the task she'd been given since her eyes had first opened, when she was only the quiet Molekit. But now? Molebelly knew the less elegant side of this important custom, her bloodshot eyes and empty belly. She'd been made a warrior all by herself, no littermates to join in with prideful vigil.

But it was morning now, and with the sun up, no amount of fatigue could get her to fall asleep. Her body would rest when the sun did—today was her first day as a warrior, and there were things to do. So she waited, trying to keep herself patient as a skinny warrior left his den, looking towards Molebelly and giving her a nod of his head. That was the sign, the beginning of it all. She was allowed to speak. The silver-brown tabby would sigh initially, relieved. Usually she would wait around midday to eat, but she could not deny her growling stomach. Tail held high, chin up, the new warrior made her way towards the fresh kill pile. WindClan's inhabitants were beginning to stir, and the energetic feline could only anticipate the attention she would be receiving because of her warrior ceremony last night.

  • Attention anticipated - attention received. "Gee, you look like you need poppy seeds." Sorrelpaw remarked with a neutral expression. His words carried no ill intent, but he didn't find her bloodshot eyes to be very flattering. He would have advised her to go straight to bed, if it weren't for her body language. The new warrior had no intention to sleep through her first day, that much was obvious. Oh, new warrior, first day - of course!
"Congrats on your new name, by the way." the apprentice added, putting on a slight smile. Lucky her, a warrior already.
