You are traveling in a hickory forest. You feel lost, your sense of direction now gone. Looking up, you try to spot the sun, but the trees cover it. Cursing to yourself, you suddenly yowl as you fall into a hole. You hadn't been paying attention, and the hole was camouflaged. Landing on your paws, you fur is fluffed out, and your back is arched. Two chuckles come from within the place you are... A cave? Looking into the depths of the dark, you see a pair bright white teeth smiling at you. Gulping, two figures come out of the black, and you gaze around in shock. "Welcome to the Cave. We are the Chiefs here. Explain yourself at once, and why you have entered!" One of the meows, a she-cat, you notice. Dipping your head, you are willing to tell them all you know.

HickoryClan lives in a lush, hickory forest. Their Clan is located in the middle of it, though you would never find it is you just looked on the surface. The Clan cats live underground, in a large, old and abandoned cave. It has multiple tunnels inside of it, one for each rank. There are small holes in each tunnel, to let in sunlight and fresh air. An unground river goes through the middle of the cave.

Night had fallen upon the abandoned lands. The stars shimmered brightly in the sky for the first time in years, and the full moon beamed rays of white light down onto the ground below. A black cat slunk about in the darkness - a tom with bright violet-blue eyes. His jaws parted slightly as he scented the are around him. This tom went by the name of Onyx. Onyx could smell the stale scent of cats and...blood. Curious, this tom padded toward it, only to see what seemed to be a Clan camp covered in dead bodies and blood. Instantly, Onyx began dragging out all the bodies and burying them individually. A family of cats were passing by, and they decided to help him. All the blood was cleaned off, and Onyx offered to keep them with him as he started up a Clan. In honor of one of the dead cats, whom had been his old friend Hickory, Onyx named himself Hickorystar and the Clan HickoryClan. Generations came and went, leading to the HickoryClan we all know and love now.

HickoryClan believes in a light and a dark side. The good, or the light side, is called "StarGathers." They are the ancestors to HickoryClan, filled with their good ancestors when they die.
But, when the evil cats die, they go to a place called "GroundGathers." They are the evil ancestors to HickoryClan.

Every three moons, HickoryClan goes to a crystal inside of the cave. It gets lit every three moons, and turns the whole cave blue. They take a one day trip, and then all sleep around the crystal. Then they are able to talk with their ancestors, the StarGathers.

They celebrate Earth Day with a huge celebration. The whole day, the Clan, the young and old go out and help clean up the forest. Once it is clean, they go back to camp and hang up some of the leaves they had on a branch. They then have a large feast.

7. You may have however many cats you want, but please keep count of them.
8. This is a semi-advanced roleplay, so please try to get a minimum of five sentences. If you have more than three characters, you may write three sentences. PLEASE, NO ONE LINERS! Also, please use CORRECT GRAMMAR AND SPELLING!
9. No killing cats without talking to the owner of the cat first.
10. No talking on the Sign-Up thread! There is a Chat & Plot thread for that!
11. No making plots without me knowing. PM luya schuyler. and myself or say some on the Chat & Plot thread!
12. Cursing is allowed! But please star out the vowels! Don't go too overboard...
13. Fade in/out with inappropriate scenes. It's very gross to explain mating and birthing scenes.
14. If you have read this far, put "hickory tree" in the "Other" section, but in italics.
15. Any activity for more than 1 or 2 weeks without me knowing will make me have to put up yours cats for adoption, or put them as "Missing."
16. Shamans may have mates, but no kits.
17. One homosexual/pan/bi character per person. We have to keep it limited, otherwise there will be an overflow. But, no transgender or agender cats, it's confusing and never works out very well.
18. Two High and Semi-High Positions per person please!
19. OOC drama will not be tolerated. Please, if you are fighting in OOC, do it somewhere else. But I want everyone to get along! We're all friends here :). Drama is highly encouraged in IC though!
20. You may have wild cats, such as Bengals and Sand cats, but no panthers, leopards, etc.
21. I will be adding new rules, so watch out!

I will tell you, he'll treat just about anyone to an extent of course. Though he doesnt always, he tries his best to accept others before judging them to far. He also enjoys healing, that are nice to him.

Negative Persona» As I said before, there isn't much to put for his positive, since he does have a rather negative out look on his life. Since his sister went missing, and his parents passed, Distantpaw has been rather distant and angry at life. He tends to wonder why anything happened to him, but even he knows he can't control it. He does tend to refuse to heal others that had been recently mean to him, as he does hold extreme grudges. He is also known to not sleep very well, only making him more grumpy.

He's kind and understanding, and doesn't hesitate to have a good ol' laugh with his Clanmates or fellow chief. Despite this, he can get very serious and is highly intelligent and cunning, and always has the plan. He's fair and often quite calm.

Negative Persona» Though being calm and collected, and sometimes funny, Spiderstar is unbelievably sensitive. If you say one thing about his past or his family, or perhaps even the one he loves he'll snap. Unlike other sensitive cats, whom would bundle up in a corner and cry, Spiderstar snaps back and gets angry. He can be extremely aggressive, most likely more aggressive than any other cat in HickoryClan! He's very possessive if he finds someone he loves, and Spiderstar is not afraid to be violent, either.

HISTORY

[fancypost bgcolor= lightblue; bordercolor=gray borderwidth=2px; overflow: auto; height: 200px; width: 200px]History» Spiderstar tends not to talk of it, so cats in the roleplay wouldn't know of this, but since you're roleplayers ~~and my bwest fwands <3~~ you can know. Spiderstar, obviously, was born as the only surviving kit in Bramblestone and Thrushcall's first litter. He was their only son, and he'd never had a brother or a sister. Spiderkit made friends with other kits fast, and his parents were clearly proud of him. Spiderkit developed quickly, and he was definitely more ready to be a cadet before long. A trooper's cadet, to be precise. Spiderpaw went out training nearly every day, and came back more advanced and skilled than the day before. The pride swelled up in Bramblestone and Thrushcall's hearts. Spiderpaw was swiftly made into Spiderleap, and his parents were almost overjoyed. When Spiderpaw was twenty moons, Thrushcall announced her second pregnancy. Bramblestone fell horribly sick during this time, and Spiderleap spent most of his time making sure his mother had enough food, while visiting his father. Coincidentally, the day before Thrushcall went into labour, Spiderleap padded into the shamans' den only to see his father heaving, struggling to breathe. Bramblestone's last words were to forever believe in the StarGathers, and for Spiderleap to protect Thrushcall and his new siblings with his life. Of course, Spiderleap agreed, and the next day his brother and sister, Charcoalkit and Larkkit, were born. Unfortunately, due to complications, Thrushcall died the next day. He handed his little siblings over to another queen, whose kits had died in their birth a few days ago. Charcoalkit and Larkkit grew up knowing they had a foster mother, and that their mother died the day after their father died. Spiderleap didn't want to keep it a secret from them, of course. Spiderleap was made into a general when the kits were five moons, and he was twenty-five moons. Almost a few days after he was made general, a rogue attack was launched on HickoryClan, and both chiefs were killed, leading to him and his fellow general to become the new chiefs of HickoryClan. Spiderstar was proud to name his siblings cadets, and it's now been five moons and the two kits are healthy, ten-moon-old cadets.

When you first meet her, she's shy and tends to pretend to be busy with something, but once you get to know her she's bold and absolutely hilarious. Poppysong is very sweet and patient with everyone, and will always think twice about doing something that may be unfair.

Negative Persona» Poppysong hasn't got too much that's negative about her, except for a few things. Poppysong is a very happy, sweet and gentle she-cat on the outside, yes - but when she's alone, she's depressed and tends to think of dark things. When she was five moons, her mother was out hunting and her father was left with Nala to defend the den. Two badgers lumbered past and attacked. Nala watched her father die, before she fled to HickoryClan. Nala became Poppypaw, then Poppysong. Poppysong has been depressed ever since, for she was extremely close to her father and has no idea whether her mother is alive or not. She blames herself for Branch's death, but keeps all of this a secret.

Then when (and if) Poppysong has kits, she hands them over to her sister, and since a queen doesn't have to reveal the father, Leafstorm doesn't? But the kits grow up knowing everything, and that they have to keep it a secret.

Very flirtatious, the she-cat can sometimes create awkward situations that were not her intention to create. She's pretty sarcastic in terms of humor and doesn't care for filtering. Her mouth is an unpredictable explosive. Meadowleap loves messing around with other cats and generally enjoying her life.

Negative Persona» In terms of negativity, Meadowleap is generally the pessimist. She often sees the worst in other cats and the world around her. She is insecure about herself and bottles her emotions, refusing to show weakness. This can lead to mental breakdowns when too much has been built up. Her behavior can be easily seen as reckless, Meadowleap doesn't always think before she acts, though she can also be reasonable when she has to be.

scar Aha, you don't have to delete this. Sure, but Poppysong is pretty patient anyway and Distantpaw will be her cadet, so she'll be able to persist. Could you adopt Pearl, scar? Since you play Distantpaw, I think it'd be weird if you played Leafstorm too because Poppysong and Distantpaw will be giving their kits to her (if they have any ~~c'mon we all know they will~~). Also, I highly doubt Periwinkle will become chief all too soon. I'm not really okay with this, but I don't really mind it if you get what I mean x3 I have a loonnngg life planned for Spiderstar, and I'm planning on having him retire.
