[align=center][font=times new roman][I]There are many stories about the Millhaven dragon. The song for it tells of how it came from the mountains, where people normally never go. But, occasionally, it would get lost from it's family. That's how it ended up here...Only, no one has ever seen it before.

But I know a person that could tell you otherwise. A boy I met, and his brother. They could tell you the whole story, maybe even tell you what happened next. And maybe, just maybe, they might tell you where to find this dragon...Dragons, rather.

    This is their story.

  • I set up mine in the fashion that we did for our first dragon roleplay, if that helps XD. Working on the intro now. I'll let you know when I've finished.

  • You are forest ranger who works alongside Grace (the woman in the trailer who is also a forest ranger, and is the one who discovers Pete) and should be about the same age as Kevin. There could be a third dragon that she could find for herself that lives with Elliot, Branch, Kevin, and Pete, but that's up to you XD.

    Description is done, btw.

  • Ok. I may as well start my first post then!

"Faster, Branch, faster! They're getting away!"

Beneath me, I could feel Branch's rumbling growl of playful exasperation, and wrapping my arms tighter around his neck, he pushed more power into his wings, and we were quickly speeding along after Pete and Elliot. The four of us had been having a wild, happy romp and flight through the forest the entire morning, and we were just finishing a race that, currently, we were in danger of losing if my friend didn't fly any faster.

I've known Branch for six years - he's been my friend and something like a brother and a father to me all wrapped up in one package. Even though we look nothing alike (he's a dragon, of course), he, aside from Pete, is the only family I've ever known since our parents died in a car crash. Pete and I would've never survived the first night had Elliot and Branch not taken us in. And we most certainly have not had such great friends as them. I would certainly not trade Branch for anyone else. Not in a million years.

Little did I expect that our perfect life in the woods was about to change.

  • Sorry, school and work has me so tired.

I was sitting beside Grace that morning, munching slowly on a piece of toast that she was making me eat. It was either eat or don't go to work; I would rather eat and go to work because she was my ride there considering the fact I didn't have a car (it was needing a new part which name I forgot; it's written down at my house) and she didn't want me running all the way there. I had before, she scolded me for it. But the cabin's had showers, I got there early enough to wash off. Finally when I finished, I ran out to the car, eager to drive there this time. And she let me. We waved a goodbye to Natalie and Jack before we departed, me behind the wheel skillfully putting on the seatbelt with my right hand while driving with my left. It didn't take long to get there seeing as I took different roads than she, made the trip quicker meaning more money on the hour. Just.. There was something different about today, I could feel it, I knew it every time my tattoo began to itch and my bones began to ache. Mama used to say I had a gift nobody else did, a gift that could sense when something good or something bad was coming. This one was good because the ache in my bones wasn't harsh, but gentle. I told this to Grace whom merely smiled at me, for she had heard the words many times in the past few years and none of my predictions ever came true. She didn't know they did. She was never around when they did.

  • It's ok! I've been busy too lol! Also, I'd say Grace is around...20? 21, maybe? Somewhere around that.

The name of the town is called Millhaven, btw. And I just saw the movie on Sunday, and I cried at the end :'( Such a good movie.

Our race having ended, the rest of our time was spent looking for logs and branches for our treehouse. Pete went with Elliot, of course, while Branch and I went out on our own. We liked being alone - well, I liked it the most out of the both of us, anyway. Whenever the four of us weren't playing around with each other, I liked nothing more than to take long walks through the forest with my big green friend. We would get to our own games while doing so: for example, Branch would sometimes go invisible, and we would play hide and seek. Or which one of us could make the loudest howls (Branch always won, but it didn't keep me from trying to beat him).

I kicked along some stones and twigs with my bare feet as I walked, Branch right behind step for step. There was a road coming up that we would have to go across, but I wasn't worried, for nothing usually came: an occasional car, but that was it. Soon enough, we were there, and I grimaced as the light reflecting off the asphalt glared into my eyes. I didn't like it, and promptly went back into the bushes. Branch whined, concerned, but I patted him on the nose, letting him know I was ok. It was then when I saw the station wagon driving our way, and instinctively I ducked out of sight. Branch quickly faded into the trees until there was nothing to give us away, and we stayed like that until the car had passed us, and moved on. I let out a breath of relief, and after calling for Branch to come out, we quickly hurried our way along to the other side.

  • That's what I was thinking. I FOUND THIS APP ON GOOGLE PLAYSTORE AND IT'S CALLED GEEKING IT'S LIKE FF BUT IT'S AN ACTUAL APP AND I LIKE IT YOU SHOULD CHECK IT OUT

Okay. Was it that good of a movie?//

Finally reaching our destination, I got out and tossed her the keys, running over to the ranger's station without her. My bag left my hand and landed on the chair at her desk, my boot kicking it underneath it, and without waiting I ran off to go check the area since it was my job. They all did their bits of paperwork while I did this and toured around tourists. It was fun touring them around, but also very irritating because sweome of them just kept talking to me like I wasn't on the job. I was skilled at getting them to fuck off, though. I rubbed my hands together, remarking the paths calmly. "This truly is the perfect job for me." I said, smiling to myself, sitting back against a tree and pulling out a sketchbook and a pencil to draw the view of the mountains and trees in front of me. I could do this one job all day, going around and making sure the paths were visible, and still get paid for it because not a lot of us did make sure the paths were clear. It was a big forest after all.

  • OMG YES. And it so turns out, there is a song on how to find them. Would you like to hear?

Also, the movie takes place in the 1970s, and the lumber industry is pretty big in this time period (and tourism wasn't that big), so Ayodele and Grace's jobs would be to go out every day and tag where the lumberjacks couldn't cut down the trees.

An hour later found me carrying a bundle of branches and ferns in my arms, and Branch with an enormous log in his jaws. He had quite the trouble of trying to get the damn thing through the forest, as it would keep bumping and getting lodged against every tree Branch tried to squeeze by. Another clunk of wood against wood alerted me of another failed attempt, and I turned around and looked at him with a mixture of amusement and exasperation. "Turn your head, silly," I told him, laughing when the dragon huffed and did what I said. Then he suddenly tensed, his nostrils flaring and his eyes widening with fear as he caught a strange scent. "What's wrong, Branch?" I asked, worried, but he had already turned invisible, the log floating in the air the only indication he was there.

Sighing, I looked around, trying to smell what he smelled. And I did smell something, so I followed it until I was crawling through a clump of bushes when it started getting stronger. Peeking out through the leaves, I saw someone. A girl, it looked like. Drawing on a little pad the mountains and the trees. Curious, I tried moving closer, but stopped when some twigs broke beneath my weight.

  • Oh that'd be nice :)

Okay, I'll edit that little bit later.//

It was peaceful here, much better than being stuck at home with three brothers, my niece, my sister, and my parents. I was the second oldest, behind my brother Henry of course. He was not the first to have kids. My twin sister had a child before any of us, and let me tell you something; my parents were livid when they found out. Nikkie, my niece, is now half a year old, she'll be one when Sarah and myself turn eighteen. I glanced every now and then at the scenery in front of me, enjoying the silence until a crack that boomed throughout the area caught my attention. I looked over at it. Too big to be any of the small creatures and I don't see many bears roaming around. I thought, putting my things away and quickly disappearing from view of my previous seat, slowly walking my way over to the source of the sound. I was rather shocked when I was close enough to see at a safe distance. A boy was out here. And.. He looked my age with platinum blond hair. I tilted my head, moving my hair from my face as the wind blew a small breeze. "Hello there, why're you out here by yourself?"

  • Okay! And here's the song!

    Go north, go north
    With wings on your feet
    Go north with the wind
    Where the three rivers meet.
    Now plant yourself down
    Beside the tallest tree.
    Measure the stars shining
    One, two, three.
Look all around you and see,
Deep in the forest, there dragons will be.

My heart was pounding when the girl got up from her spot, and when she walked over towards me, I was beginning to panic. I hadn't seen another human being besides Pete for six years, so I didn't know if I could trust this girl or not. My instincts taking over, I backed out of the bushes and rushed away, not looking behind me to see if she was following. Ahead, the trees shook and swayed as Branch, still invisible, crashed towards me, and reaching my arms out wide, I felt for and grabbed onto one of his forelegs, and pulled myself up onto his back. I hugged tightly on to his neck, feeling his muscles powering through his frame as he frantically searched for a place to take off.

  • I was stunned. He just ran off. "Hey wait!" I shouted, running after him without thinking. I had half a mind to use the walkie talkie to call for Grace, but didn't. Something said not to. This boy was obviously frightened by just me, who says he won't be hostile if more were here? Since I did track and cross country and was always active my whole life, and ran these woods every chance I got, I had no trouble keeping up even with the bag on my back. I huffed, jumping over fallen trees or roots sticking out the ground. I ducked under any low branches if needed. I also did hurdles for track, so jumping over the trees was no issue.

"Wait! I am not a threat!" I called out again, trying to get him to stop. My grey eyes followed him, even as I lost sight of him briefly, I followed my nose. My father was a hunter and the best one in town, he trained all of us to hunt with and without our sight. We had our hearing and sense of smell heightened because of this. And this boy had a particularly unique smell, it wasn't like most seventeen years old or any other person I had come in contact with. It made it easy to track him once i kept the scent in mind, shifting through the scents the wind brought. I stumbled upon seeing him suddenly jump into the air and stay in the air. It.. Was like he was riding something. But what was big enough to carry him so far off the ground and remain invisible. As far as I knew, invisibility cloaking systems had yet to be invented so what was this? I could only gawk in awe as I watched him.

  • I dared to look over my shoulder, and saw the girl a ways behind us, just staring with her mouth gaping. I knew she couldn't see Branch, but I knew she could see me riding on something. I gripped tighter as Branch knocked down another tree on accident trying to spread his wings out, and I could hear him growl in frustration. As soon as we broke tree cover on the banks of the river, I was already shouting for him to fly, and the wind gusted as he left the ground and took off, leaving the girl far behind. We better go find Pete, I thought as distance was put between us and her. I've had enough for one day.

  • I didn't come out of my shock till it was too late and the boy and whatever he was riding were long gone from my ability to shout for them to come back. My feet didn't move me. I didn't even have any idea what the thing he was riding on was, nor did I even have the shape of it. I was left completely baffled by it. The buzz from the walkie talkie on my hip caught my attention. "Ayodele? Hey, come in." I grabbed the device and spoke into it, letting Grace know I was there. "Come back to the station. Natalie is here." I mumbled something to myself before responding with an "On my way." and beginning the ling trek back, but not after grabbing mental images of the small destruction left from the boy and whagever he was on. I had two thoughts. Who was he and why was he alone?

  • LOL I can't wait when they find out he wasn't alone XD!

    [hr]

The image of the girl I had seen stayed with me the whole flight back to our cave, and by the time we got there, it had begun to rain. I was off Branch's back and rushing for the entrance as soon as we landed, Branch following close behind, snorting and shaking the water out of his fur once we got inside. Pete and Elliot sat waiting, and seeing the silver compass around Pete's neck, they seemed to have had their own experience as well. I listened as Pete recounted how he had seen a red-haired woman in a green dress walking around through the woods, and how he had gotten the compass from her bag she had left on the ground. "She might come looking for it," I warned, but I smiled, not putting a damper on his pride of not being seen. Elliot chose this moment to stretch his jaws wide and let out a big yawn, and soon the rest of us were yawning as well. It had been a long day, and it was time for rest. Pete crawled over to Elliot's side; I sat in between Branch's paws, curling up happily against his furry chest.

I didn't go to sleep very quickly, though. I was still wondering: who was that girl I had seen? Branch must've sensed my thoughts, for he growled nervously and looked at me with wide eyes. "Don't worry. I won't let her hurt you," I assured him, and the dragon sighed, relieved. He spent some time making sure I was comfortable, and soon he laid his head down, all of us falling asleep.
