  • Jax stuck her tongue out playfully at him as she moved about the kitchen, tossing together an easy and large meal to make for the men on the ship, her stomach rumbling as the smells hit her nose. "Aw, c'mon Dante, I thought you'd at least wanna surprise your lady with a delicious meal the next time you go home?" She said with a cheeky grin as she glanced over at him, jerking her hand back from a hot pot with a tiny frown, shaking her head. A little laugh left her at the thought of the gentle giant becoming large and round, smirking as she stirred the stew slowly.

"Ah well.. I guess all the men will be cannon balls by the time they leave if I keep cooking, hm? I don't think Solomon would appreciate that too much." Jax laughed softly with amusement, struggling not to laugh even more at the thought of Solomon surrounded by fat men on his ship. It was a hilarious and lightening thought, her smile never leaving her lips as she moved about the kitchen, grasping a rag to wrap around her burn for the moment.

  • ooc: I’m alright now, but let me tell you, this past week has been a ride. Btu all is well with mental health and we’re getting there emotionally, so we’re good. :)

“Oi, if y’think Theo’d ever e’en le’me NEAR ‘er kitchen yer out o’ yer d*mn mind.” Dante said with a little snort as he watched the girl twirling around the kitchen, frowning when he heard her hiss, immediately realizing what she’d done. He pushed himself off the wall to go look at the offending finger, because he knew showing him was the last thing she’d want to do, but then she was moving around again and looked relatively unbothered, so he settled back against the wall with a little huff.

I tried t’make the woman breakfast once, y’know? It was ‘er birthday ’n e’erything… She woke up ’n immediately started yellin’ ‘bout people touchin’ ‘er stove. I shuffled in after that. She smiled at me, which was nice,” he muttered, getting a little lost in the memory and offering a toothy, lovestruck smile at the memory before actually blushing and looking back at the floor, scuffing his ginormous foot on the wood. “But then sh’ told me t’ never do it again.” he finished with a pout.

Wit htaht, he looked back up at the princess, waiting to see her reaction, but she was just smiling, a smile more sincere than anything he’d seen from her yet, and he raised na eyebrow for a moment before smirking and leaning back against the wall smugly. Musta been talking about the king… he thought, kn0woing exactly what was going on between them. Even if they didn't know it themselves....

  • OOC: I'm sorry this week has been challenging for you : ( But I'm glad you're starting to feel better! ^^

Jax glared at him as she heard him starting to come near her when she hissed in pain, thinking nothing more of the burn and didn't want Dante to be too concerned about it. A little smirk tugged at her lips as he went back to his wall when she started moving around again, as she was going to take care of the burn later. She listened to his rather adorable little story, her smile growing wider as she saw the lovestruck look on his face when he spoke of Theo. Jax had never seen a purer love between the two and it made her undeniably happy for them.

"I'm seriously not surprised.. It would be like her to kick you out." Jax grinned over at him, wiping her hands off on her pants as she stepped away from the stove finally, cracking her knuckles. "I was just thinking it would be absolutely hilarious if I managed to get the men fat... Solomon would have to roll them around." Jax snorted with amusement as she washed her hands, drying them on a rag she had hung over the edge of a counter. She leaned up to grasp some bowls, humming softly as she counted them out before setting them near the boiling pot of stew.

"Meal's ready if you wanna call the boys in.. I'm sure they're dying to eat." Jax huffed softly as she got herself a bowl as well, pouring herself some of the stew and nudged Dante over to the pot when he was done calling the men in to eat. She took a seat at the table, which was rare since she liked to eat in her little cabin but did join the men now and then.

  • I knew it… Dante thought with a smirk when he heard what the girl had been thinking about, his mind still slightly distracted by the thought of the woman he’d left back on shore, but that was fixed quickly when gossip presented itself. Or, at least, the promise of gossip presented itself as the princess talked about the man she “totally hated” and who “totally hated her right back”. Sure, like Dante believed that for a second. He’d seen love, he wasn’t an idiot.

Dante watched her set up, though, and didn’t push it any further. He was actually a fan of this little romance, if he had to admit it. He thought they were cute together, and if they could just hurry up and get together it would make him quite happy. He was broken from his wishfulness, though, at her announcement, and he just snorted at her offer. “‘Lrightie, girlie. But, remember, y’er th’one that told me t’invite’m in…” he warned teasingly before lumbering over to the kitchen door and popping it open, revealing the wall of men that had already formed there in anticipation.

“‘Right. Girlie said y’could eat. Be careful in ‘er kitch’n.” he warned the men before flattening himself to the side of the staircase as best as possible to keep from being run over by the hoards as soon as he stepped out of the way. He locked eyes with Jax as the men ran towards her food, and after a second he broke out into that same toothless smile, laughing at the ridiculousness of the small girl perched so properly at the head of the table, the master’s seat, the ginormous men accepting it without a question as they tried to slide into the skinny seats around the rest of the table.

    Solomon wasn’t bitter.

Okay, he was a little bitter.

Which he knew was ridiculous. He was better now, there was literally no reason for the girl to care for him anymore. Not that he admitted to ever being injured in the first place- he was a king, a captain, and king-captain’s didn’t get injured. That made them look weak and that led to mutiny. And besides, he was hit with the boom. It wasn’t even a good injury, anyway. Not a chance in h*ll he was confessing that maybe he did feel a little off for a few weeks afterwards.

But that was over, now, and he watched as the girl that had cared quite loyally for him during his sickness care instead for the entire crew. And if his stomach wound around itself and he felt a little angry, well, it’s only because he was the captain and the men should have waited for him to eat before they got their own food. Obviously.

And, with that sh*tty, sh*tty justification in his head, he brought up the end of the line for food, grabbing a bowl and scooping out the remains from the bottom, acknowledging the men at the table cringing when they realized he had very little left. Good he thought smugly, even though he was quite excited internally, since the burnt bits at the bottom of the stew were his favorite anyway. “Girl…” was all he said as he took the seat directly across from Jax at the other head of the table, giving her a tight nod before looking away.

No, he wasn’t bitter at all.

  • Jax swore she could see Dante's thoughts almost burning out of his head as he stood there after she spoke, shaking her head as she got herself and Dante a bowl of stew before moving out of the way once he opened the door. She nearly burst out into laughter as she saw the men hovering near the doorway of the kitchen, her eyes glimmering with amusement as she settled into the chair at the head of the table. Jax knew it was Solomon's chair, but she didn't care one bit, since she had a feeling that he wouldn't mind too much anymore. And if he did, it wasn't like she was going to budge from her seat.

Jax hummed softly as she ate, noticing that most of the men waited for her to start eating until she did, finding a bit of smugness in the action. She took her time to eat, glancing up as Solomon walked in soon after to get what was left in the pot of stew, making a note to get a bigger pot if possible at the next village they stopped in. That way everyone could have more. Jax nodded in return as he spoke and looked away, shifting her weight in her seat at the look he had given her.

Why is he so tense? Did I do something wrong again? She thought as she sipped the last of her stew and rose to her feet smoothly, carrying her bowl to the sink and wiped her hands on her pants before her eyes flicked to Dante. "Come on, we can't waste anymore daylight." Jax said with a cheeky grin, nudging him playfully before she headed out onto the deck, glancing behind her at Solomon with a pinch of confusion in her eyes until she shook her head and headed out onto the deck.

She picked up the pole from where she had left it, popping her neck and stretching her arms above her head, determined to get at least a few more hours of training in before she had to help around the ship. No doubt she would be sore from the training, the thought of a hot bath making her groan softly as she spun the pole in her hand, practicing a few of the moves.

  • ooc: oh dude I am so sorry. I know I say that every single time but I mean it every single time. :( SORRY.

    --

Dante watched Solomon, his earlier smile at the thought of the two “enemies” interacting disappearing when he saw how Solomon was acting. “Yeh, like that’ll help’ye” he grumbled under his breath before drinking the rest of his stew and pushing his chair back, pushing some of the other men out of the way so he could rest his bowl in the sink and then follow the girl onto deck. He let her go, protectively following behind her, even though he knew that none of the men on the ship would do a thing to hurt a hair on her head. In fact, he’d say some of them were just as protective of her as he was, but he knew that was a lie. They could try, but he’d established himself firmly as her sole protector- besides Solomon, of course- from the very first minute, and he was quite proud of that.

When he managed to squeak through the small doorframe- one shoulder first, than the ohter- and step onto the deck, he just raised an eyebrow when he noticed the girl was already going over her moves from earlier that day. She’s already getting good… he thought with a proud grin before clearing his throat and raising an eyebrow at her teasingly. “Y’sure y’really need me ‘ere, girlie? Seems like y’got it all under control…” he called, watching her for a few more seconds before picking up the dowel, only pausing when he heard a voice from behind him. He turned around, as if he didn’t know who was speaking, and then scowled when he saw his king standing there next to him on the deck. That’s what y’get for being an *rsehole during dinner…

“Yer not supposed to b’ere, ‘ighness…” he muttered, casting his eyes over to Jax for a second before just looking down at the deck of the ship, not really wanting to deal with the other man at the moment. “This training is just h’Princess and me. She’s training t’fight ye, remember?”

“I remember.” Solomon muttered who, unlike Dante, was having no problem finding a place for his eyes to rest: she was there, practically dancing along the surface of the ship, her movements looked so natural. Sure, they might be basic, beginner maneuvers, but anyone with eyes would be able to tell that she would be a master in no time. She didn’t question her movements, her limbs moves fluidly with her, and he could see the focus in her eyes. If he didn’t know any better, he’d say it was hot to see her like that, so intent on the task in front of her. Good thing I know better… he thought, that same jealousy- because thats what it was, after all- that had knotted his stomach during dinner winding around in him again. Because why should Dante have gotten to spend all day with her, watching her? He knew the reason, but at the moment he didn’t exactly care.

“You’re looking good, Jax.” he called out after a moment, and only then did his eyes flicker away from her form, over to the bow of the boat, because really? You look good? With cheeks that were bright red, which he prayed were covered up by the settling dusk of the night, he cleared his throat, ignoring the way he could practically feel Dante quivering next to him with the laughter he was trying to cover up, and then slowly let his eyes drift back to the princess, though they immediately darted away once more and his blush was renewed when he saw how she was looking at him. “Natural. I meant natural. The training seems to be working?”

  • OOC: It's totally okay! I keep doing the same thing to you on accident >< Just been busy with life.

Jax could feel the lumbering giant of a man directly behind her when she got up to leave, wondering what was making Dante so protective all of a sudden. She shook her head, thinking nothing of it as she grabbed the pole with a delighted smile. It felt nice to practice fighting again, especially with the looming threat of her father finding them. Jax didn't want to lose a single soul on board this ship, and she knew she would give up the fight if it meant keeping everyone safe. Even if the men wouldn't let her go, which she knew they wouldn't.

"Of course I need you...You're the one that knows Solomon the best." Jax replied with a cheeky grin, going through the movements over and over as her feet practically glided over the deck. She knew it so well, it was if the boards were simply air. Of course, being light on her feet would indefinitely help with the fight later on. She spun into a move, only to raise her eyebrows as she saw Solomon standing beside Dante, glancing at him curiously. Normally he wouldn't even bother to say hello, but now he was stopping to watch? Maybe it was a tactic to see how well she was doing with Dante's training.

Jax's eyebrows shot up at the King's words, trying not to laugh until she realized he was absolutely serious. "Oh...? Are they so natural that they flustered you?" She winked over at him playfully as she leaned against the dowel, not wanting to practice with Solomon watching her. Purely for the fact that they were to fight each other soon. She hummed as she stepped closer, whacking Solomon lightly on his side as she smirked over at him. "You know, I think I will beat you this time. Dante is an excellent teacher." Jax spoke proudly, smiling broadly over at Dante as she moved back to pace.

  • ooc: I’m finally responding! Maybe it’s a month later, but it’s happening. I’m finally out of school, so I should have a little more time on my hand to do my thing. We’ll see how it plays out.

“I’m not flustered.” Solomon grumbled a second later, so embarrassed that he was literally scuffing at the floor with the toe of his boot. He looked up for a moment before seeing her smirk and scowling, locking his eyes on hers even though everything in his body was telling him to look away. No. No, I will not back down in front of this girl. I am the King, I back down for nobody, he coached in his head, although even he knew he was being an idiot. That didn’t stop him from smirking, though, when she turned around and grabbed her staff again, because even though she was going back to practicing, that meant she was the one who looked away first.

“And you’re not going to beat me.” Solomon responded with a snort, relaxing slightly now that she was focusing on the training and not on him, his eyes starting to wander more over the planes of her body, the angles of her arms and legs and curves as she moves fluidly with the stick, admiring her. “I’m the best that there is. THere’s a reason I was able to capture you, doll.” he said with a snort before shaking his head and, in a fit of bravery, walked over and placed his hands on her hips, correcting her technique slightly. “Even if I taught you everything I know, I think I’d still win.” he finished with a smirk, his voice soft against her ear, his hands lingering for a long second before he pulled them away, though he remained there, not moving all that much, knowing that she was feeling the electricity between them too.

  • OOC: Yay! I love this thread so it's always nice to respond to it. I'm busy with work but I'll respond when I get the chance.

Jax's eyebrow rose as the Captain protested against being flustered, even though he was literally kicking the deck and avoiding her eyes for a moment or two. Definitely flustered. Her throat bobbed as she held his intense gaze, not wanting to break away from the stare but eventually did. Her tanned cheeks were a light pink as she started practicing again, scolding herself internally for even thinking of Solomon as more than a King. He probably thought she was nothing more than a crew member.

She frowned a little as she focused, her breath light and relaxed, her muscles rippling beneath the shirt she wore and the pants that clung to her muscular thighs. She was getting stronger every day, and she loved it more than anything. "You were able to capture me because I wasn't properly trained. Now I am." She said simply, a stifled noise of surprise slipping from her when he was suddenly in front of her, the touch of his hands on her hips sending bolts of electricity throughout her body. Her cheeks were ablaze from his touch, though with a sweep of her legs, she had knocked his feet out from under him and had him pinned to the deck with her fingers gripping his jaw. "I doubt it. Just know I'll win, and you'll be pouting like a child." She grinned cheekily, her hips straddling him with her knees pressing on his ribs to keep him from moving.

  • Solomon felt the wind knock out of him as he slammed back against the deck of his own ship, that traitor, his eyes going wide and surprised before he quickly realized what had happened and gave a little growl. And here we were having a moment… he thought, a little bitter that the girl had interrupted their togetherness of seconds earlier. Togetherness that I shouldn’t be wanting… he added to himself just a moment later, yanking his head from her grasp though eh didn’t try to wiggle away. He could tell himself that he shouldn’t want her, but that didn’t mean that it necessarily always went down like that.

“I don’t pout. Especially not like a child.” he grumbled after a second, not pouting as much as scowling, crinkled forehead and all, as he looked up at her. His gaze quickly turned to a smirk a second later as he launched himself to the side, flipping them around, trying his best to take care of her scarred shoulder, even though he knew it was long since healed. “And you’re not going to win. I know more than you ever will. You’re just a spoiled princess. I’m a pirate king.” he added, smoldering taunt back in his voice as he looked down at her, raising an eyebrow playfully in her direction as he sat back onto her stomach, actually sort of impressed with himself that he’d been able to flip her. She’d really looked quite stubborn. "I have the experience of a whole lifetime at sea."

  • A little snicker of amusement slipped from her as she heard the growl when he was knocked to the ground, a smirk tugging at her lips since she knew she had taken him by surprise. She placed her hand by his head as he jerked away from her touch, her soft sapphire eyes glittering in the sunlight. Her smirk grew into a grin as she saw the semi pout on his face, tempted to poke the wrinkles forming on his forehead as she stifled a laugh.

Though holding back her laughter made her lose her focus, a sharp noise of shock leaving her as she was suddenly beneath him. Her cheeks flushed a bright red once more as she gazed up at him, landing a smack to his chest as he smirked down at her. A little shiver raced down her spine from his smoldering tone, letting her fingers dig into his sides to get him off of her. "I'm no longer a spoiled princess, or did you forget that? " She spoke lightly, giving a quick buck of her hips to throw the King off of her and roll to her feet with her fingers wrapping around the dowel again. "I'm learning from the best. Someone who's been with you for years and knows your every technique. So keep that in mind when I win." She grinned as she straightened up, smoothing her shirt down since it had twisted up over her pale stomach. "The training also gives me plenty of time to think of a proper punishment when you lose." Her grin grew, causing the corners of her eyes to crinkle and her dimples become visible as she tossed a playful wink at Solomon.

  • This is not me responding, sorry!! I just wanted to let you know that I’m going to be inactive for about two more weeks. I’ve been in Tokyo for a bit a week, and the house where I’m staying has no WiFi, so I have to be really conservative with my service. Sorry, babe.

  • Solomon only smirked when he felt her smacking at his chest, reaching up with one hand to catch her wrist, pinning her further down to the boat a moment later, smugness radiating from his eyes. He listened to her speak, raising an eyebrow teasingly at her words, though he couldn’t help but agree slightly with what she had said. She wasn’t a spoiled princess anymore, if she ever had been in the first place. He saw how hard she worked on the boat, how she was right in the mix with his men- no, how she led the mix of his crew- in doing the chores, preparing the boat, making sure that the boat worked flawlessly. Not that he would ever admit that, but maybe his grip loosened slightly in those few seconds as he stared down at her, wondering at how quickly she had become irreplaceable in his crew.

He was, of course, completely taken off-guard at her little thrust, though he just laughed as he tumbled across the deck, landing on his side a few feet away and just laying down, looking at her as she stood up, the good-natured grin remaining on his face. “I can’t wait to see what you think of, Princess. My body is tingling at the promise…” he purred playfully before holding out his hands and giving her a meaningful look. “Now are you going to help me up or what? I can’t help it that your hips threw me off-guard. It wouldn’t be the first time that’s happened…” he finished, and though he was trying to speak in a purr, his voice ended up much more a barely controlled laugh.

  • OOC: I am so sorry for not responding for so long...My mind has just been blocked for a while and work has been driving me up the wall. I promise I'll try to respond more often, if you're still interested!

Jax's cheeks only flushed darker when her wrist was pinned to the deck of the ship, trying not to squirm too much beneath the male as she gazed up at him. She couldn't help the flutter in her chest, deciding to distract herself by throwing him off of her. It didn't help that he was on the verge of laughter when he spoke, giving a playful roll of her eyes as she leaned on the dowel. Her lips felt as if they were stuck in a permanent smile as she gazed down at Solomon, giving a soft huff as he held his hand out.

She obligingly took his hand, yanking him to his feet unceremoniously and let go as soon as he was steady to shove his chest with the training rod. "You really need some training with that dirty mind of yours. I think every crew member knows what you really want from me, Captain." She spoke with a cheeky grin, turning to skip away over the deck of the ship and rest a hand on the mast in the middle before she turned to glance at him over her shoulder. "Who knows, maybe we'll both enjoy your punishment. Or just me... You won't know until I've beaten you." She sighed with boredom, studying her once perfect fingers that had become calloused and rough from working on the ship. Her head lifted, gazing out over the horizon of the ocean they were traveling on.

It made her feel relaxed and safe to be on the ship, surrounded by men she knew she could absolutely trust with her heart and soul. And Solomon was one of the men, despite all the teasing they went through. And then her heart dropped, her gut twisting as she saw a familiar flag in the distance with a menacing ship attached to it. "Solomon...We have to change our direction. Now!" She practically shouted these words, already climbing up the mast to slide into the crows nest to get a better look. She felt as if she was going to be ill as she watched the ship get closer, scrambling back down the mast, her hands trembling horribly as she dashed for the little cell she called home.
