  • Darkpaw padded out into the snow, shivering slightly. "It's cold!" he complained. Brightpaw came to stand next him and shoved him playfully. "Of course it's could, mouse-brain, it's snow!" she mewed, her whiskers twitching. He shot her a look of mock irritation.

  • Darkpaw tipped his head, considering. "Up here? Yep, snows pretty normal," he purred back.

Brightpaw nodded solemnly, still rather in awe of the clan leader.

(By the way, any idea who my mentors are yet? Maybe there are still too few cats for that.)

  • OOC: I gave Cinderstreak as Brightpaw's mentor, and Bluerain as Darkpaw's mentor, but I just hope Bluerain is active...if not I'll give you a different mentor, and we would also have to get a new deputy. Haha.

IC: Snowstar smiled. She blended in just perfectly, what with her snowy-white pelt. The only thing that stood out was her dazzling ice-blue eyes.

  • Cinderstreak padded from the warriors den and yawned. "Hello, Brightpaw." She greeted her apprentice.

  • Brightpaw turned and cheerfully mewed; "Hi, Cinderstreak! What are we doing today?" she asked, eager to do something.

Darkpaw nodded to his sister's mentor, and wondered where Bluerain was. It was great that he was apprenticed to the deputy, he loved it.

  • "I haven't decided yet. Maybe we'll work on hunting." Cinderstreak mewed.

  • Brightpaw nodded enthusiastically, kneading the ground in eagerness. "Can we go now? The snow is great and all, but sitting here watching it isn't all that enjoyable or productive," she complained, a warm light in her pale green eyes.

  • Flamepaw was padding around, her orange pelt sticking out like a thorn in her pelt. She was sniffing at a bush for some herbs when the snow gave way beneath her. She looked up. "Mouse dung!" she cursed as she tried to get out. She jumped onto a tree root. She jumped farther to where the ground looked firm. She fell through even deeper. "A rabbit hole?!" she hissed angrily. She jumped out and continued to sink. She hissed and jumped into a tree.

  • Cinderstreak nodded. "Okay, let's go." She lead Brightpaw out of camp and into the snowy forest.

  • Brightpaw followed, scenting the air for any prey. She spotted a squirrel looking for nuts and dropped into the hunter's crouch, stalking towards it. She pounced, killing the squirrel in a bite. "Was that okay? I mean I guess it was cause I caught it....," she asked, slightly nervously.

  • Cinderstreak nodded. "That was an amazing catch! Keep doing that and you'll catch a lot of prey. It's kind of hard for me to hunt because of my dark pelt," Cinderstreak mewed, gesturing to herself with her tail.

  • Brightpaw shook her head slightly, "Look at me, I must be just as visible," she gestured to her golden pelt the same way Cinderstreak had.

  • Cinderstreak shrugged. "I dunno. Gold probably fits in better than a dark gray, it's closer to the color black, which really WOULD make it impossible to hunt." Cinderstreak purred. "But I'm alright. Watch this." A rabbit was out and about, looking for food. Cinderstreak dropped into a hunters' crouch and slowly stalked towards it. She kept her tail just above the ground, straight out, so it could help her balance, but not stir the leaves. She sat there for a moment, wiggled, and pounced like a panther. The rabbit stared in shock, it's eyes big and round, it's ears lied back, but Cinderstreak body-slammed it into the ground, tossed it around a little, and then gave it the killing bite to the neck. All that was left was red snow. "Like that." Cinderstreak purred.

  • "Wow, that was great!" she mewed, her eyes wide. She scented the air again, suddenly remembering that she was supposed to be hunting as well. Brightpaw scented a mouse and once more dropped into a hunter's crouch, and ghosted forward, toward the mouse. She pounced, but the mouse had felt her and started to scurry away. Brightpaw leaped again and brought it down, killing it quickly. "That was close," she mewed, relieved that she caught it.

  • Cinderstreak nodded. "I've never seen an apprentice hunt as well as you!" The gray cat marveled. "I can tell you will be an excellent fighter."
