I twirled it by its handle as I laid back. I knew she was just being friendly but I couldnt. Every ounce of affection I'd ever felt was a lie.
"You wouldn't understand." (p)

Alex's body soon relaxed. Asleep in the mound of blankets. Oliver mewed and dug inv with her.
-
Why did I care? I shouldn't care. Not my fault she got butt hurt. I laid back and closed my eyes. Little did I realize I gripped her favorite blanket, smelling it, holding it.
-
Alex woke up to the feel of cold running through her body. She lifted with a slight shiver, looking around.
-
I slept my face stuffed into her blanket. It just smelled so good. It actually made me feel like I was back at home in my own bed. With my- No...No...
-
Alex got out of bed abd went downstairs. Oliver followed as she grabbed a glass of water and sat on the couch.
-
Tonight was calm and quiet. I had woken up due to my dreams. I looked st the blanket and smiled abit before quickly forcing it away. No attachments, no deaths...No again. I looked up and closed my eyes
-
Alex didn't sleep for the rest of the night, not sure why. She sat with Oliver I her lap as she watched TV.
-
I felt something under my hand and saw the walkie talkie. I sighed knowing it was pointless. I sat against a concrete wall and looked up
-
"Hey Oli...wanna ride." He me owed and she took him out into the garage. She was bored, and what else was there to do besides ride a bike in the middle if the night? She put him in the basket and climbed on.
-
I got up and slipped on a Grateful Dead shirt. I'd ripped off the sleeves. I walked to the shore and picked up a flat rock. When I threw it, I threw it so hard that it shattered. I sighed knowing I could probably do the same to the girl.
-
Alex began riding off down the street. Like she had done many times before. She sighed, her mind slipping off to the stranger.
-
The girl...What was her name? I wanted to know her name. I needed to know her name. I didn't know why. I gripped a rock slowly crushing it. I looked around and dropped it shaking my hand off
-
"You were always on the other side..." Alex mumbled in a quiet song. The song made her think of her and the stranger. "Running in parallel lines..."
-
I stared at it unsure why I did that. "Stop...Just Stop..." I whispered to myself as I raked a hand through my hair. I bit my lip and looked around with tears in my eyes which evaporated
-
Oliver gave a meow before springing out of the bike's basket. Then he took off without warning. "Oli!!!" She shouted before pedaling after him.
-
I sat down my head parallel to the ground. I took a deep breath
-
"Oliver stop!" She was getting frustrated at the cat. He was headed where Ashley hoped he'd never go near. The stranger. Down the bank the little cat ran, forcing Ashley to ditch her bike.
-
I heard yelling and looked up to see a little cat. Slowly I got up and keeping low I walked over. Cats were usually intimated by taller creatures and ran off. Slowly when I got close I reached out a hand carefully. "Hey little fella."
-
Alex growled. She almost screamed when she Oliver approach him and nuzzle into his hand with a small mew.
