By the will of the ancients, life was always meant to prevail. All entities, living and passed, abide by a sole clause; survival. By the word of a feline belonging to the void of the labyrinth, the makings of a tribe was inscribed into the earth. A society was born, similarly, the makings of tradition. Though the depths pose as an imminent threat to the tribes survival, it also brings about an atmosphere of mystery, feeding the minds of the intellectual, courageous and curious. Life has been gracious to those that walk beneath the earth, religion, kinship, allegiance, harmony. These are all the things that keep all who live among the Labyrinth content and comfortable. Having devoted their livelihood to the darkness of the tunnel systems they call home, the Cats of the Labyrinth have found ways to maneuver about the pitch through the means of attaching a glowing stone to rope or vine. At the core of the mountain lies The Heart, a room encased in ice colder than the winters of the far North. Though it is not proven to exist, the tribe has devoted their lives to finding and worshipping the geode buried within the earth. Many have perished in their attempts to locate the mysterious stone, to no avail though their memory lives on in history.
The Labyrinth dwellers do not perceive death as a means to an end. They believe that their essence is absorbed by the gem deep underground, giving light to the stones around their neck. These objects are to be cherished. To lose such an item could result in banishment or being revoked of your role in the clan. Honour is highly regarded among these cats, meaning that; should you do something that makes you unworthy, it would not be the first occasion that one was shunned from the tribe as a whole. To recover your lost faith, one must travel alone into the Void to reclaim a new stone. From there, the Matriarch(s) shall decide whether you can be welcomed back or turned towards the wasteland.

viii. Mating scenes are to be faded to black. Gore and graphic violence is allowed but make sure to tag your post accordingly.
ix. Low muse is understandable and acceptable, just let either ShadowStream or I know. :0)
x. Please don't engage in OOC drama. If you have qualms with the roleplay or a specific turnout, message either of the mods (Shadow or myself) then we can discuss it in a civil manner.
xi. No controlling another persons characters. That's rude and unfair for each party.
xii. It's encouraged that people let romance blossom during the roleplay. Allow it to develop. That being said, no relationships between your own characters, please.
xiii. Don't try to force relationships onto other people in roleplay if the other party is uncomfortable or does not like the pairing. It creates unnecessary unrest.
xiv. No mother-less kits, please. Maybe one or two are alright, but it makes it troublesome to really progress their story-line. Unless of course some plotting had been made beforehand.

Wasteland

Encompassing the territory of the Labyrinth cats is a barren wasteland where wildlife perishes in a few days time. With the sun scorching down upon the heat-baked earth, cats who tread this open field risk dying of starvation, dehydration, or heat-stroke. Where water is scarce and the brush is dull and dying, nothing survives this formidable tundra. Travellers that wander these plains are often sentenced to their death.

The Adit

The entrance to the mineshaft is known as the Adit. This is where almost all camp activity takes place. Lining the roof of the cavern are jagger stalactites that could plummet at any given second. Though nary an incident has been recorded, it's always important to be aware of ones surroundings.

The Colliery

Beyond the soothing light of day that floods the entrance of the camp (Adit) lies the Colliery, a maze of tunnels systems that bring older members (above 12 moons) deeper into the mountain. Though light here is scarce, the crystals many have collected over the seasons illuminate the chambers that branch off into different directions. Inexperienced members (apprentices) are encouraged not to enter the Jagged Pass, a path that leads many cats to their death as the Void lays claim to them.

Crystal Caverns

Buried deep within the husk of a mountain as old as the earth itself lies cavernous rooms infested with crystal growths. However, to get there would increase your chances of getting lost in its depths, a tricky labyrinth lay before you as you scour the darkness (light being a myth in the Void) for anything of value to bring back to your clan.

The void is a darkness that is all encompassing. Light is an absent thing within the tunnels of the Jagged Pass, making it near impossible to traverse without some sort of illumination device. The caves are narrow and are hard on the paws, making it difficult for anyone with some sort of infection to wander the abyss without leaving unscathed. Many tunnels are caved in or crumbling. In some, just the vibrations of an excited cat's voice could topple it. With crumbling Gunite and toppled ribs, the mines are often dangerous beyond exploration. In many places the floor has fallen from under paw and you must make the decision to leap across into unknown or to venture back.

Caverns

As you bury yourself further into the mountain, you'll come to realize that light is beginning to return, despite being hundreds of metres beneath the surface. Hanging from the ceiling are silk-like, bioluminescent string that is produced by glow worms and caterpillars. Travelling further will introduce you to tunnels that are filled with glowing crystals. Most are far too great in size to bring back to the top, but deeper you go, the more likely it is to find underground springs and smaller crystals. Per the fables that have been created, the Heart of the Mountain is a chamber filled with nothing but ice. Frost is said to bite at the tips of your whiskers as you close in on the geode showering in light and is supposed to be colder than the far North's bitter Leafbare. Rare minerals and gems are plentiful in this area, but even so; it is forbidden to take anything from the core. None have had the chance to tempt that, and it's likely that none ever will.[/fancypost][/fancypost][/fancypost]

Written Description;; With fur as pure as the setting sun, red as the desert sand, Sunpaw harbours a thin physical structure, making it easy to slip through even the smallest of cracks. Her posture, despite being dwarfed by her fellow Greenhorns, is straight and strained as she does her best to appear larger than she actually is, to no avail, unfortunately. With golden-brown hues and a gentle looks to her features, Sunpaw in overall has a fairly genderless physique, being neither terribly broad nor thin. With small palls and a light frame, this makes her light on her feet and able to sneak about with ease.

Detailed description;; Sunpaw is an individual that is fairly easy to get along with, should one be willing to overlook her exuberant excitedness that comes and goes like the wind. She has a respectful, albeit playful attitude that she is able to control on her own, given the situation at hand.
Her attitude and look on life, albeit jaded in some ways, make her quite the social-butterfly when she wants to be. She loves to go on tangents (ie. stuttering) in regards to fantastical ideals and the things she enjoys, showing off all aspects of her personality, though knows when to allow the other person to speak, often becoming discouraged to speak on her own behalf in the process. However, with her issues in regards to socializing, Sunpaw would rather spend her day within the confinement of a den, watching her clanmates venture to and fro with nary a care in the world. With this comes her appeal to authority. Believing that others should be kept in line through some sort of ranking system, Sunpaw is easy to maintain and look after, considering how fondly she regards the system the tribe has established.
Avid to adhere to her beliefs, the red femme often finds herself in scenarios that show off her energetic personality, thought process and skills in combat. With her defecit in attention, however, Sunpaw often finds herself being unable to sit still, despite all her best efforts. There are pros and cons to this due to how unpredictable and quick thinking she is, though this also makes it difficult to train her in any other form of art.

Detailed description;; after being adventurous and troublesome throughout her kit and apprentice hood. She has very much calmed down. She is now very level headed and though still explorative and playful she has boldend and become quite an interesting character. She now adores sitting in the meadows at night, listening to the crickets and hunting voles and squirrels. Along with being creative in telling stories of adventure to the kits and polite to her clanmates, she does hold grudges. Her somewhat spacy personality along with her uncompromising and clingy personality, she does have her flaws.

the officer is the Overseer's most trusted individual, the Overseer is assigned by the Matriarch and there is no current Overseer. In my opinion the officer should Be decided in the roleplay though because of this being the start of the roleplay I can and will reserve the position for you. Though as a reminder, there is no promise that the officer becomes the Overseer. When the Overseer passes away, a new overseer will be voted by everyone in the clan, including a new officer chosen by the overseer.

Detailed description;; kindness is a virtue that polarflame possesses. she is gentle with the young and always willing when it comes to her clanmates. she has always had a kind heart, though it hides behind a ruthless mask.
conservative is another one of her defining persona traits. not like today's conservatives, but conservative with prey and safety. she doesn't waste anything and tries her best to keep the group running smoothly from her position as a scout.
energetic is another thing that polarflame is. maybe too energetic... yeah, you'll see in roleplay, trust me. it's like she never sleeps.
hot-headed polarflame does have a problem with her temper. she is easily angered and stays steaming for a few days, even moons sometimes. the only thing that helps is taking time and screaming in her own head.
