So, for immediate relief from back pain, lay down on your back on a bed, with your head just off the edge of the matress. Bend your knees and rest your feet flat against the mattress. This realigns your spine and lets gravity pull it into place, and relaxes the muscles, where the pain most often occurs. It's best to do it on a level, soft surface, because it will have a small bit of give but will keep your spine straight.

You can do it without hanging your head off he edge, however the relief will not be immediate. Do not do it on the floor or any surface that doesn't have give to it.

While in this position, with her knees bent and her feet against the ground, she can try moving her legs together from side to side /slowly/. The motion should be fluid and she shouldn't stop in between. Try not to do any more than ten "sets" of this, because you don't want to fatigue the muscles. That's good for lower back pain in the long run.

Heating pads also help a lot.

  • A thing:

I'm against stereotypes, especially about mexican ones but then I remember 5 key facts about the people around me (who are mexican:

1.) Fast food is a no when a parent drives, straight home to the pinto beans and rice. This is 100% true.

2.) Every house has salsa Valentina or tapatío. They put it on basically everything.

3.) A normal breakfast is Pinto beans, eggs, rice, salsa verde, and tortillas de maíz. Salsa verde is To add that extra spice to our food in the morning. If there is no salsa prepared we take a bite out of a jalapeño.

4.) a major stereotype I saw was that fathers/mothers used knives to sharpen pencils. I can't lie, my dad has done it for me. I'm pretty sure it's international though ?

5.)I remember that I was always telling people that not all Mexicans dressed stereotypically then I remember that when my mom takes my dad to the dance, he wears his cowboy boots, cowboy hat, dark blue jeans common amongst the farming community in Mexico, and tucked in flannel shirt and it's just like..I also wear boots and tuck my flannel shirts in..and so do all my uncles and mexican friends..

6.) WE LIVE FOR THE JESUS OF CHRISTS.IM AT A FAMILY FRIENDS HOUSE AND IM GLANCING AROUND AND BOOK JESUS BOOM HOLY MARY. My house has this stuff, so do my friends and family?? I AM STEREOTYPE.
    THE HOLT MARYS
    THE HOLY SQUAD MEAL

  • okay, my take;

1.) fast food is a no, when Military pays for you to have free lunch!

2.) if other people's mouths aren't burning when they take a bite of my taco, it ain't spicy enough.

3.) my normal breakfast is Oatmeal, and water.

4.) I've sharpened pencils, logs, branches, hiking sticks, and knives with knives.

5.) I dress in a uniform all day, every day. except the weekends.

6.) I'm a protestant who believes that just faith won't let you into the Gates. You live a good life, you go to heaven, the Sky, Allah, Death, Elysium, whatever faith you belong to/believe in. The world has too much bad to not be good. Listen to your heart, and Earth will be a little bit better by the time you leave this world.

  • @Tired Optimist can i live in ur house and eat ur food?? ur making me hungry

but yeah here are some lgbt stereotypes ive noticed a lot of lgbt people follow. i think its partially so we can make other friends in the lgbt community?? since you can't tell by just looking at someone usually. i follow... quite a few of these

    1. lesbians/bi women wear flannel shirts. im wearing one right now. they're comfy and also look fashionable??? so its really just like why not wear them.

    2. dyed hair. i think this is one of those like trying to make other friends in the lgbt+ community things since whenever i see someone with dyed hair like mine im like "oh hey i like your hair" and we have a moment where we're both like "aw yeah"

    3. you know how in tv and movies a lot of gay dudes have like... a feminine voice???? that happens too sometimes. the spanish teacher has that voice, he runs the gsa and his (male) fiance is pretty nice. don't mention it out loud if you notice it tho cause a lot of people can be self-conscious about it, especially if they've grown up in conservative communities.

    4. women who like women (wlw) have short fingernails. um, yeah. if you don't know the practical reason for that, you may not want to look it up.

    5. i don't have any rainbow pins or anything but if i did i would put them on everything. i DO have a rainbow bracelet. i wear it often. i mean, rainbow stuff goes with every color of the rainbow, so why not wear it??

    6. people tend to dress more androgynous-- gay/bi dudes wear more feminine/fashionable clothes, gay/bi women wear more masculine clothes, maybe because we don't have to prove to people of the opposite gender/to society that we're man enough/woman enough?? the exception to this is trans people who tend to dress in a more gender conforming way in order to "pass" as a girl/boy better, or else someone might go like "oh you said you were a boy but you're wearing a skirt??? does that mean you aren't a boy anymore???" of course, two of my friends who are trans boys tend to dress more femininely bc i guess skirts are just really fun to wear. seriously. they're great. you should try wearing a skirt sometime.

  • Live with me pal. I ain't sharing my beans though.

I have worn skirts, my legs got cold. Felt very breezy. Then it went up and some people saw my stunning boxers and gasped at such beauty they provided to their simple eyes.

Anon wears flannels, has semi-short hair, dresses in anything, male or female, cuts nails short. Maybe she's bi?

I'm just unsure of American stereotypes. Like..I've seen the stereotypes in real life when I go to the areas with little to no diversity.

  • omg good im sure u looked fabulous

maybe she is, but maybe she just likes to dress like a dude. i mean, its wayyyy easier to have short hair than it is to have long hair. and its more like something i see on a lot of people who happen to be bi/lesbian, not necessarily an indicator.

also hell yeah does america have stereotypes. they're just different by state/area. we're all rednecks or surfer dudes or annoying and very capitalist or whatever according to europe. it's actually kinda funny.

  • I was flawless, covergirl/coverboy.

She tells people's she's aromantic but it's unsure.

And the stereotypes I see here are either the positive ones or negative. Mostly positive but the nagtive ones are fat, Big Mac in hand, yelling racial slurs and freedom with a beer. That was all in one day not in my neighborhood O-O

  • Well, the stereotypical Minnesotan; "Oh, you had a nice lunch, didja? Well, the highways just o'er there, past the silos. Have a nice drive, and come back soon, donctha know!"

Also, Duck Duck Grey Duck. now That's Minnesotan.

  • [center][font=minion pro]!! I can contribute to American stereotypes - or at least the ones we joke about in Canada!

We joke a lot that Americans don't know how to spell, since we spell 'color' colour and 'favorite' favourite, and that you guys don't know what real maple syrup is (Canadian stereotype insert)

We make a lot of jokes about accents, most specifically southern accents and Jersey/Brooklyn accents, but it's all in good humor.

In terms of more negative ones, we do make a lot of jokes about McDonalds and Starbucks, and about 'peacans', and about steak and such. We also make a tonne of jokes about American politics (moreso than Canadian ones), and tend to make 'Murica jokes and generally jokes about Americans being amazingly patriotic.

Although, as a Canadian, I would point out that I 100% say 'eh' a lot. Probably more than what's healthy (lmfao).
'Canadian Bacon' is actually peameal bacon (pronounced P-male), and not a lot of people eat it/like it, myself included. I hate it with a violent passion.
We have many things made with maple. Maple lollipops, fudge, chocolate, popcorn, chips, sausages, maple smoked bacon (which is amazing, go buy yourself a pack).
I know many people who have an obsession with Tim Hortons (their coffee is good, anything other than their 'cafe-standard' muffins/cookies etc. is actually horrible). And yeah, a lot of people order double doubles.
Nobody actually speaks in a 'Canadian accent' (humm, like in this video. The slang is exactly the same though and I'm laughing my *ss off because I understand exactly what they're saying. 'Soda' thing is true though. It's pop.).

    Basically this ( link ) over-exaggerated video.

  • it is Pop. thank you. Northerners Unite! I would also like to admit that I say 'Beaut' or 'Beauty' a lot, and 'Eh' a lot too. as well as 'Aye', speak in a Scottish accent, pirate, and Minnesotan accent. (Although the Scottish and Pirate aren't very good.)

Funny thing is, when I compare myself to southerners, I feel like I use larger words, where they say 'Y'all', I say, 'All of ya'. My judgement of anything south of Iowa is that Y'all's are Rednecks who can't speak right. that, and anything in New York City or Jersey. I just feel smarter than anyone who doesn't speak my accent XD

  • you're right about the maple syrup thing, sort of. while a lot of people have never had the beautiful taste of real maple syrup, up in new england, especially vermont and maine and new hampshire (which are all p foresty and also very pretty in the fall) we got some REAL GOOD maple syrup. that makes me want maple syrup. goddammit. i especially like maple w bacon. one time i had maple flavored ice cream with bacon in it???? it was very good.

also its soda but i dont have a very strong opinion on it since i dont like soda. like at all. carbonated things just arent my thing.

  • I want to admit I've never had maple syrup anything, not even maple syrup. And in Nevada, our accents aren't really anything interesting. I admit I say 'how y'all 'doin' but that's out of habit. I do call soda 'coke' though. No matter what flavor is.

And a quick question, here in the good sin city we have Fast food on basically every corner. Is it like that over there? Just wondering because my teachers from up north say it's not normal to have so much fast food joints everywhere. We legit have three pizza places right next to each other and across the street a McDonald's.

  • I live in the suburbs. I'm a hop, skip, and a jump away from 20 fast food joints. Although, anything north of me (aside from Brainerd and Duluth, honestly) is going to be a little spare on fast food.

  • [center][font=minion pro]Yeah, there are a tonne of fast food/restaurants in towns and cities. Timmy's is everywhere xD

As for me, it's about a ten minute drive and a six hour walk to the nearest town. But that's just because I live in a rural area.

  • Now, I understand there are regional shops. Being so far North, I've never eaten at In-n-out, which I think is a Cali restaurant? Nor have I ever had this 'Timmy's' you speak of. I barely had Jack-in-the-box until just last year, and I've never had Five Guys. On the other hand, you guys probably have half as many Targets as we do (It's a Minnesota company) and SuperAmerica is a gas station you've never heard of.

  • we have a dunkin donuts (very massachusetts of us) right up the road, and like... at least 3 in my town in total. we have a lot of dunkin donuts. i think you guys probably have them too, but its just... very common here.

  • [center][font=minion pro]I've never seen a Dunkin Donuts here, and I don't know what Jack-in-the-Box is, in terms of restaurants.
Ahh sorry, Timmy's is slang for Tim Hortons. We have them literally everywhere, so I guess it's like our dunkin donuts...? They have great muffins and timbits :).

  • yeah that sounds like dunkin donuts. i was just thinking abt it and i think we have more paneras around here?? i love panera. it makes great like salads n sandwiches n soup. like, you feel like you're eating healthy even if you might not be?? idk if its just massachusetts/new england or if they're scattered about.
