  • Falconstars' orbs danced though the green, his whiskers twitching with anticipation. He didn't much mind what it was he caught, he just figured.. catching anything would be nice, to bring back and set upon the fresh kill pile. Despite his status he felt the warrior code as deep as any of the old five clans, or the standing four. As he thought about those clans, he felt his mind begin to wander. Just before he entered a place it would take perhaps an hour to return from, the scent of rabbit flitted across his nose.

He drank in the scent. Rabbits were less common here than say, mice or birds. Or maybe only less common in our prey pile- the uneven ground, and roots from winding trees made it hard to catch such a fast creature. Falconstar slowly pulled himself to the ground, where his fur lightly brushed the grass as he moved. He felt like a snake; the friction between his pelt and the greenery reminded him of a breeze. He looked up to the sky. It was changing from the dark blueish purple to a grey color- dawn was approaching. It was cold for the times, but he was sure that it would warm up as the day went on. He returned his focus to the rabbit- that he could now see. He bunched up his haunches, before it could run- and took a leap.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=transparent; bordercolor=transparent; borderwidth=50px; width: 500px][justify][font=georgia][size=9pt]Silentleaf was wandering.

She liked to wander. Wandering was fun. Just walking and running and seeing things. Being away from other cats. It was peaceful.

The she-cat used her sleek, slender body to wind through the messy tangle of branches and undergrowth that her forest home held. She felt beautiful and majestic, like an unstoppable wind, like a river gently bubbling through the forest. It didn't make sense, but neither did most anything about Silentleaf.

Suddenly she caught a familiar cat scent. It was her leader. For no real reason, she decided to go see what he was doing. She maneuvered her way through the trees, following Falconstar's scent.

Silentleaf found him in a hunter's crouch, his eyes locked onto a rabbit. The she-cat tilted her head to the side in interest. A rabbit? Those creatures weren't very common in their territory, if Silentleaf remembered correctly. Strange, to see one of those furry rodents hopping among the gnarled roots that made up the forest floor. She wondered where its family was. Did it have a little rabbit mate, or little rabbit children? Or maybe it was out here alone, looking for a friend. Silentleaf suddenly felt sympathetic for it. Poor rabbit, with a story of its own, and that story was about to end.

  • When he came back up, the rabbit hung from his jaws. He was a little giddy with excitement, his fur sticking out in every which way. He gently sat down the kill, to lick down his pelt. He would not return to camp looking like a new warrior. He raised his head, looking at the sky. He hadn't heard from Starclan in a while- not that he wanted to. Oftentimes Starclan only spoke to him when there was trouble ahead, and though he was thankful for no impending dooms, he couldn't help but miss speaking to them for the sake of hearing old stories- like a kit in the elders den. He sighed, and looked back to the fat lump he'd just caught. He wondered if he should have let it be, let the population of rabbit grow, so that their prey pile would be filled with the fat specimen. At the thought, he chuckled to himself. Rabbits grew and mated faster than Falconstar could imagine, and he was sure where this rabbit came from, there were many more.

He dipped his head to lift the hare, and a scent caught his nose. It didn't take him but a moment to identify her. Silentleaf. The she-cat did things like that often. Wander off, or wander close, never giving any hint to her coming or going. He flicked his ears at her. It was a, I know you're there, gesture. But he didn't speak to her. No, he figured when she did those things, even if she was close, she'd been out wandering at first- that she'd like to be left alone. She never told him otherwise.

Holding the rabbit, he jumped over gnarled roots onto the small pathway their paws had worn over generations, and he went back to camp. His tail flicked at Silentleaf as he padded back to their shared home, something to say, You can come, or you can stay.

His large head pushed through the vines and greenery that had grown in front of their cave entrance, and he looked around. The cave was something else, he reminded himself. A gift from Starclan.

shadowwalker blinked once, twice, three times before she was able to pull herself completely out of dream state. she had most defiantly woken up late and many of the others were most likely already up and about. although, to be fair to shadow she had gone to bed incredibly late - she had agreed to lead a late night patrol around the territory and by the time she had returned to camp everybody had already been fast asleep.

she let out a large yawn before slowly stumbling to her paws, her long black fur standing up in all directions. shaking her fur out shadow cast her yellow eyes around the camp, there were a few cats hanging out but overall it seemed many were out and about. she gave another loud yawn before moving to the entrance of the cave, she may have woken up late but that didn't mean she couldn't go out and be productive with the daylight she has left. as she moved to the entrance she watched as falconstar returned, moving through the cave to drop his catch into the food pile. she gave him a quick nod before stopping in her tracks.

now, shadow wasn't much of a hunter no matter how hard she tried she always seemed to mess a catch up. turning around quickly she walked slowly to stand by her leader. "have you already run morning patrols? if not i can take someone out and we can go over boundary lines." she asked lightly her voice still rough from her apparent lack of sleep.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=transparent; bordercolor=transparent; borderwidth=50px; width: 500px][justify][font=georgia][size=9pt]Falconstar looked up to find Silentleaf from where she sat in her tree. He flicked his ears in a gesture of acknowledgement, letting her know that he was aware of her presence. Silentleaf stared back at him in reply. Her face was blank, no emotions seeping through to any of her features, and her milky green eyes were wide and expressionless. She sat there in her tree, looking at him, staring at him as he began trotting away. He invited her back to the camp with him. Silentleaf stared.

That was one of the many things about Silentleaf that frightened other cats: her staring. It was a rare sight if you ever saw any type of emotion on Silentleaf's face. Many were convinced that she didn't even have any emotions. They may have been right.

The tortoiseshell had a habit of staring. This, combined with her lack of emotions, made other people get sort of an eerie feeling when they saw her. When she was spoken to, she stared. She stared at anybody. Sometimes she stood in the middle of the camp and stared at everyone as they passed. She liked to look at them. If somebody asked her a question, they got a stare in response. She was definitely the most queer of the cats in her Clan, but she didn't mind. She didn't really mind anything.

Long after Falconstar had left, she sat there in her tree and stared after where he had disappeared. Finally her gaze moved to a leaf that was falling. Then to a squirrel as it skittered over to a nearby acorn. She could have caught it. She was an amazing hunter; her inability to make sound left the prey with only her scent to detect her by. But Silentleaf just didn't really want to catch it.

Then another object caught her eye. It sat on the forest floor, covered so heavily in dirt and scattered leaves that it almost blended in with the rest of the forest. But it definitely did not belong there.

Silentleaf quietly leaped down from the tree she was perched on and made her way to the object. She pushed back a few leaves with a speckled black paw and hooked the object with a claw. It was a thin circle made of different bright colors, woven in some sort of pattern. Silentleaf looked at it and recognized it as what she had named a Pawloop. Many Twolegs wore them, usually the ones with the longer fur on their heads, on the paws that they didn't use for walking. Why, Silentleaf didn't know. Twolegs were strange.

Silentleaf sniffed the object. The twoleg scent had almost faded completely, which told the small tortoiseshell that the Pawloop was long abandoned. She sniffed for any other dangerous scents, and when she didn't find any she picked the Twoleg thing up in her mouth and began walking. This time she had a destination. It was her den, the secret place where she stored all of her Twoleg things. She wasn't aware if any of the other cats of her Clan knew where it was or if it even existed, but if they did they never cared enough to look for it. Silentleaf was glad about that. It was her spot.

The post was edited 1 time, last by Silentleaf ().

  • He dropped the rabbit, and looked at Shadowwalker. "Only take two other cats with you, he murmured. "I want you to specifically check for any fox or badger. This is the time of year that they come around." he stifled a yawn, not wanting to appear as tired as he was, but he knew she would see the sleep in his eyes. "The other day I caught the scent of fox, but even then it was stale." the day was only beginning, but he had a feeling that it would be strange. He didn't move, he was still thinking. "If you could hunt, while you're out.. I would appreciate it." his voice was a honey-smooth kind of voice, and he could have been charming if he wasn't always stuck up in his head. He was sixty moons, and had seen five leaf-bares. He wasn't an old tom, didn't look like an old tom- but he was old in spirit. Only as a new warrior did he have a consistent spring in his step.

His blue as ice orbs watched Silentleaf carry a strange twoleg item back to her nest. He blinked at her; her actions were nothing he pretended to understand, but he accepted her as she was. A fine hunter that never made a sound, with peculiar habits. Not the type of warrior he had hoped his clan would harbor, but a warrior non the less. He looked back at Shadowwalker. "Be thorough, but please do not take long." with that, he went to his den. The cave was large. It seemed never-ending. The further back it went, the smother the ground became, and the higher the roof went. There were holes, large, deep holes along every side of the cave. There was a warriors den, a nursery, apprentice den, and an elders den. The apprentice and elders den currently went unused. Falconstars' own den was further back in the cave. There was a large pile of rocks about a fullgrown foxlength high, and his large hole rested above them in the wall. In the bottom of his pile of rocks was an equally large hole, if not slightly larger, reserved for the medicine cat and his or her wares.

He jumped up onto his rock, and decided to lay there, watching his camp from the back. Thinking.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=transparent; bordercolor=transparent; borderwidth=50px; width: 500px][justify][font=georgia][size=9pt]Silentleaf padded into the camp, her Pawloop still dangling from her mouth. She felt the gazes of some of her Clanmates, but she didn't care. She went silently into the warrior's den, walking all the way to the back where her nest rested. Few cats slept back here; it was cold and dark, not very welcoming. But it was perfect for Silentleaf.

In the wall behind her nest, hidden by shadows, was a small hole in the cave. Luckily, Silentleaf was a small cat; were she the size of Falconstar or any of her other fellow warriors she wouldn't be able to fit. Any kit or apprentice most likely would be able to fit, but they never went into the warrior's den and thus never realized that her den was there. In fact, even most of the warriors probably didn't know about her secret cave.

Silentleaf quietly disappeared into the hole in the wall. It was a small tunnel, crowding around her sides and brushing against her fur, but she didn't mind the space. It wound left and right, even broke off into multiple tunnels in some areas, but Silentleaf knew the way.

At last she walked into her secret den. A small hole, barely the size of her own eye, punctured the roof of the cave and let the daylight filter through. The room was maybe the size of two large dogs. The walls were illuminated by the golden sunlight, holding various Twoleg objects in each of the crooks and crevices. Silentleaf sat there for a minute, letting the Pawloop drop in front of her delicate paws as she looked at her things. They were all organized by categories. Over there were her Footshells, the things that Twolegs wore around their walking feet. There were her Furloops, which were like the Pawloops but they went in the Twoleg's small patch of fur that they carried on top of their heads. Those were the Silverguards, the small jingling things that Twolegs carried with them that seemed to be able to access the Twoleg's territory. All of it fascinated Silentleaf. She could sit in this exact spot, looking at her collections, for sometimes an entire day without knowing how much time had passed. This place just made her feel happy.

Silentleaf picked up her Pawloop again and placed it besides the others she had collected. Some of them were shiny while others were not, and they all had different colors and patterns. Silverleaf found that interesting.

The mute she-cat decided that today was not going to be spent looking at her things. She turned and made her way back to the warrior's den. She entered the main cave just as she caught Shadowwalker and Falconstar discussing a patrol. The tortioiseshell sat down beside the entrance to the warrior's den, her eyes staring and her face expresionless as she listened. She would have offered to join, but she could not do that. So instead Silentleaf stared.

4 and a quarter moons Kit

[color=#0b0f11]Curled up in the bedding that she had been sleeping in for her whole life, which was short as of now mind that, the brightly colored kit stretched and extended her claws. It took her a couple of moments to blink the sleep out of her eyes and push away her dreamy thoughts before she eventually got up onto her soft, tiny paws. She couldn't wait to get out and about - but oh wait, she couldn't exactly do too much yet. All she could do is wrestle outside in the camp, closed away from the surrounding forest. She wished she could just control time itself to push her own age a couple moons forward, making her an apprentice. Although she was doing her best to remain patient, it was quite hard given her naturally pushy personality. The excitement had been boiling up inside of her ever since she had learn about becoming an apprentice. Possibly a medicine cat! That's at least what she hoped for the most.

  • Falconstar watched and listened as his clanmates began to stir. He saw Silentleaf staring at Shadowwalker, which could have meant something, but could also have meant nothing at all. He knew she was a good hunter; that, nobody denied. But sometimes he wondered if she chose silence- that she just did not speak for some odd reason. It was a distasteful thought, yet he did not feel ashamed for thinking it. He was only curious. His thoughts then wandered to Russetkit, who was nearly to her fifth moon. A low rumble of pleasure vibrated his body, as he was thrilled to have an apprentice bounding about. He knew it would bring more life into the clan, and he secretly hoped it would do the same for him. He remembered the warrior code, that a kit must be six moons to train- but he also knew that many kits had been made apprentices when they were going onto, their sixth moon. He thought about this, and though he knew his clan wasn't desperate for apprentices, the thought clung to him. He was in a state of thinking, from one thing to the next, but the next thing he thought of was something he had not thought of in a long time.

A family. A part of him wanted to wail from a life that seemed so far unfulfilling, and another part of him wanted to puke at the thought of loving another cat to the point that he was willing to share his ancestry with her. He held a secret of his ancestry, one that linked his bloodline directly to that of Tigerstar.
He then remembered the love between the windclan she cat, and the cat of Bloodclan. How they had loved one another they disregarded their heritage. He felt his skin crawl. Perhaps love shouldn't be a science. and with that thought, he found he doubted the way he had been living his life. He sighed, watching the nursery. Then looking to Silentleaf, and then to shadowwalker.

"Shadowwalker, he called. Take Silentleaf with you.

Ooc: sorry if that was terrible, I'm on my phone and I hate typing on this thing.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=transparent; bordercolor=transparent; borderwidth=50px; width: 500px][justify][font=georgia][size=9pt]Silentleaf turned her eerie stare to her leader as he spoke. She did not nod as a way of agreement, but she stared. He looked quite strange at the moment. There was something thoughtful in his eyes, some confusion. He seemed to be figuring things out. It was the fact that he had looked at her and Shadowwalker the same way that gave her a strange feeling. What was on his mind?

The small tortoiseshell silently wondered how often her Clanmates imagined what was going on in her mind. It was most likely strange things they imagined. It made sense. Silentleaf herself did not know much of what went on in her head. There was the fact that she had a very large interest in collecting and naming various Twolrg things. How funny, she suddenly thought, that nobody would ever know what she had called these things. But she was getting beside the point. Silentleaf also knew that she was extremely loyal to her Clan and her leader, perhaps too much so. If her leader told her to eat a deathberry she would do it in an instant. Even if there wasn't a reason, Silentleaf couldn't see why she wouldn't do it. She also knew that if anybody were to ever hurt her Clan, she herself would gladly rip out all of their throats. It was violent, but true.

Silentleaf waited quietly--as per usual with Silentleaf--for Shadowwalker to lead her out of the camp, or something. For now she stared between the she-cat and her leader. Nothing in particular on her mind.

//omg a romance with Silentleaf that would be the weirdest thing ever XD

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px; width: 425px; text-align: justify; font-size: 12px; text-trasform: lowercase][font=arial]R U S S E T K I T
4 and a quarter moons Kit

[color=#0b0f11]Not too shortly after Falconstar had turned his focus to something else, the tiny kit popped her head out of the front covering of the nursery before she quickly turned her head to look both ways. She figured most of the clan was still sleeping or just waking up. This made her release a puff out of annoyance. It was always quite boring waiting for all of the cats to get up, stretch their paws, and get a move on. It especially got on her nerves that she wasn't one of the warriors bounding out of the expansive - at least compared to hers - den to go hunt, or just do whatever they pleased.

The thing that ached her even more intensely than the thought of being a fierce warrior was when she saw the medicine cat strolling out of their own nests, herbs in their mouths for most of the part. The thought of sleeping in such a warm, cozy den surrounded by all sorts of growing plants, all with their own distinct smells. The ability to venture out of camp when you please, not having to be watched as they trail their noses through the grass, covering their noses in dew just to pick up the scent of a patch of medicine for the clan. It sounded like walking with StarClan! Although, give it she didn't completely grasp the concept of StarClan, but it still sounded like all of her biggest dreams.

Russetkit had hoped no one noticed her just frozen in place, staring at the entrance to the medicine cat's den. Shaking her head from side to side, she finally took a couple more steps out of the nursery so that she wasn't just poking her head out of it and sat down. She wondered when the other kits would ever wake up. She might not like company all of the time but being alone during the beginning of the day irritated her. She needed some type of stimulation. Pawing at the ground unconsciously, the she-kit sighed before drifting back into her thoughts of longing, gazing up at the newly drawn out sky.

  • Falconstar watched the kit emerge from her den, after a long peek through its entrance. He saw that she needed something to do. Perhaps he needed it himself. He stood up, shaking his fur. He didn't need to jump down off of the rock, nor had he even needed to jump on. The numerous rocks alongside the larger one made formidable stairs, and he decided to use them this time, down. Once he found himself on the cave floor, he looked at the soon to be apprentice. "Russetkit," he called. "I think it's time you got a look around the territory, and he had a talk about things." he planned on getting to know her. He looked to Shadowwalker. "We will be heading around the borders, beginning with the bridge," he explained. "If you could begin on the opposite side and make your way around, that would be great. I cannot chance an encounter with an enemy." with one of his ears, he gestured to Russetkit. As if saying, I cannot defend the two of us alone if the challenge is great.

Falconstar knew his limits, and fighting off a badger or fox for the life of this kit would only mean the death of them both. Now if it were a cat, it wouldn't be a problem. But something told him that if there were any danger in the woods today, it would not be feline.

He looked back at the kit, realizing he hadn't even stopped to see what she thought of his announcement. Something lodged in his stomach, and he looked at her with worry that instead of excitement, it would be loathing.

OOC: yeah, I know I want a mate for Falconstar, mostly because I believe it will induce a lot of character development for him- and I'm really urging for his bloodline to continue before he dies, which I imagine if I can get this roleplay to be active and consistent for long enough, will happen. I don't know where I would want his romantic loyalties to lie, though, so I thought I would put it out there that I was thinking about it. I'll also probably wait until the clan has more cats. I don't want to play favoritism and make anyone new feel outcasted.

4 and a quarter moons Kit

[color=#0b0f11]Just the sight of Falconstar approaching her caused an intense ripple through her body. It filled her with almost any emotion she could think of; confusion, curiosity, fear, excitement. She had no idea what he could be coming to her about. She assumed that it couldn't be something bad, as she had not been the usual prankster she was. The confident kit wanted to prove that she could be trusted and not seen as just another rowdy kit.

Her eyes then grew ten times their size, seemingly filled with awe and starlight once she had heard what her leader had said. Outside of the camp! Me! She had done as much as she could to try and contain her own bundle of happiness but it exploded like lightning hitting a tree, setting it aflame. "Really! ME?!" It seemed as if she was about to burst out of her own fur. She then stopped. This wasn't a mature way to act in front of Falconstar! Quickly, she regained her posture, planting herself right in front of him almost like a soldier. "I mean, yes! I'd love to go out and see what's out there!" Although she was close to being an apprentice, she was still quite tiny and as she blurted out those words, it all sounded extremely high pitched and squeaky. She wished she could apologize for that but she couldn't help it.

  • He blinked, taken aback by the energy the kit had just released. A purr rumbled throughou his body, and he let out a hearty chuckle. "Alright then, we ought to be getting a move on." he began walking, but kept a slow pace. He knew he was significantly larger than her, and that her short legs (in comparison) may not be able to keep up the whole time. Or worse, that she may become tired before they even reached a quarter around their territory. He blinked at this thought, something that had not occured to him before. He did not know the size of his territory in comparison to other clans. Of course, like all the leaders before him, he had made his long trek to the moonstone. It was a few days distance, as his clan was further from the moonstone than all the other clans. Very few of those cats knew of Clan of Tooth and Claws' existence, and he wondered if any of them got the others to believe them. He remembered the stories of Skyclan; he knew they had existed. But like COTAC, they lived far away, and as far as he knew, they were located on the other side of the four clans that lived side by side. Both clans were too far away to be tested by the others, but also so far that their cats rarely made any contact.

He looked down at Russetkit, as they sat directly outside the entrance of their camp. He breathed in the familiar scents of the forest, and then he asked her: "What can you smell?"

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px; width: 425px; text-align: justify; font-size: 12px; text-trasform: lowercase][font=arial]R U S S E T K I T
4 and a quarter moons Kit

[color=#0b0f11]Raring to get going, the kit bounded just next to Falconstar's front paws and would from time to time walk underneath him and just in between his paws. She snapped herself out of this behavior as soon as she realized it might be annoying. This made Russetkit casually slide away from her leader's paws and she tried to not make it noticeable that she was trying too hard to please him. It was probably already quite obvious at that point though. She seriously had to get herself from acting like just another kit.

Once they had reached the entrance of the camp, it took the small kitten to take it in; all the scents, the trees, the plants, the noises. There was so much for her large eyes to gaze upon in just one moment. It filled her with utter fascination of the outside world, the bundle of fur wanting to just dart off into the woods but she knew for the best that she didn't dare to such a thing. Just like she always told herself, she had to present herself in a manner that made her trustworthy and her leader was the one she had to impress at all costs.

Sitting down in the semi-moist earth, she tilted her head up into the air and drew in a large breath, shutting her eyes softly in the process. There were so much scents to take in though that it almost knocked her back, even when she was sitting down. She had no idea what to say to the large warrior. "There's... so much!" She exclaimed, her eyes popping open so that she could set her eyes upon the scenery once more. "Too much!"

  • Falconstar chuckled, and shook his head. "No, not too much. Today, there are lots of smells... but that is because of the season we are in." he looked around. Everything was green, and lush, and beautiful. Soon it would be leaf-fall, and then leaf-bare... and he didn't want to imagine leaf-bare. He hated the lack of prey, the lack of warmth... nothing good came with the season of cold, besides maybe the fun of the snow- and he hadn't experienced that since he was a young warrior.

"No, when as you grow old, you will also grow to love these smells, and miss them around the year." he began to keep walking around the forest, around the borders they had lain. Not unlike the four clans that lived alongside one another, Clan of Tooth and Claw still laid down scent markers, despite their lack of neighbors. As he walked, he explained to Russetkit the prey she might find out in the forest. At this time, the leader decided not to mention the predators and the horrors that came with them. He did not find this to be an appropriate time to breed fear. "Have you thought about the future?" he finally asked. He had to stop discussing the prey- his mouth was watering. He also figured he could ask her about herself, and find out about her dreams of becoming a warrior. Or at least, that is the answer he figured she would have.

4 and a quarter moons Kit

[color=#0b0f11][OOC:] sorry for not responding, i was in pain yesterday and passed out.

[IC:] Russetkit spent the vast majority of the time while Falconstar was elaborating about the animals in the enormous, green forest to gaze around at all the vegetation that surrounded the two cats. It fascinated her to extreme levels of excitement, the small hairs trailing down her spine tingling just because of it. Out of anything that the large tom had mentioned, she wished he could've spoken about all the herbs that were out there that were waiting to be taken back to camp, ready to use by the medicine cats. Of course, she just assumed he knew way more about hunting and fighting than medicine as that's what every kit besides her dreamed of being. Fierce, loyal, willing to defend their clan. While it didn't completely distaste her, she would rather be on the sidelines during the heat of battles, assisting her clan mates if they had ever been injured. Though she was anticipating every moment of doing so, she had never taken a moment to realize how other cats lives would be in her paws and if she failed, they would no longer be around.

She had became so involved with the forestry around her as well as her own thoughts that she had almost forgotten that her leader was right besides her and his question to her nearly drifted right through both of her ears. "Ah, yeah! The future!" Immediately, she was filled with the same eagerness towards the role of being a faithful medicine cat. She wondered if her leader thought different, assuming she would want to step into the paws of a warrior like every other feline that lived in the camp. All of the roles in the clan, besides the medicine cats and the roles for those who could not fight, all revolved around fighting. The leader, the deputy, the warriors, the apprentices, even the kits when they tossed their little bodies around the grounds of the camp. Always fighting! She shook her head before letting her words slip out of her mouth and turned her head up to look at Falconstar. "I wanna be a medicine cat!"

  • He blinked at her, his eyebrows raised. "A medicine cat?" he hadn't actually thought that this kit had wanted something besides becoming a warrior. He looked at her, feeling a strange sense of comfort at the fact that she wanted something so directly related to Starclan, not that any cat in the camp did not reside under Silverpelt, the seventh clan. He continued walking around the border, allowing Russetkit to examine more of the territory. "Well, I'll have to have a talk to our medicine cat." he admitted as he walked, avoiding roots and rocks.
