Riverclan is known for their grace in water, beautiful pelts, and intelligence. We can swim and move in the water like no other, and we use this to our advantage. Outside of Riverclan, the other clans perceive us as stubborn and lazy, and even use insults such as 'fish-breath.' However, Riverclanners enjoy shiny and beautiful objects, even decorating our dens with cliquant shells and rocks. We hold ourselves to a higher standard than the other Clans; training our apprentices to swim and fish, as well as fight fiercely and cleverly. Riverclanners are the only cats that are taught and able to swim in the river, as we rely on it to keep us sustained. Our main source of prey is fish and wetland animals such as frogs.
Riverclan lives on a large grassy plain, surrounded by a river on all four sides. The soil is rich and damp, causing many unique herbs and plants to grow here. During the spring, small ponds or puddles can be found where rainwater has gathered, and some even enjoy relaxing in these pools, as they are often warmed by the sun. Thanks to the river, we are one of the safest clans to live in in terms of raids and attacks, as the other clans fear drowning. Riverclan is located between ThunderClan and WindClan's territories. WindClan is to the northwest, ThunderClan and BloodClan to the east, ShadowClan to the far northeast, and Fourtrees and the Moonstone to the north.
CAMP Riverclan's camp is situated upon a sizable island surrounded by a stream, nestled in a cluster of tough reeds and trees. Due to it's location, it's not hard to defend the camp from invaders. In fact, the camp has never been attacked (as of 7/25/16) due to the surrounding clan's fear of water. As many enemies aren't too fond of crossing the stream, especially during Leafbare when the thunderous currents result in death. However, the stepping stones across the stream allow for easy passage for many Riverclan cats.
TWOLEG BRIDGE The twoleg bridge is a man-made structure that arcs across the river. It is connected to a twoleg path that leads to the Fourtrees. The other way leads to the suburbs. Often times, Riverclanners like to hang out underneath it and enjoy the shade it provides. Just past the bridge, the falls can be found.
GORGE/FALLS The gorge is located near the Windclan border, large and thunderous- a massive waterfall plummets into the belly of a large river many tail lengths within the steep drop of the gorge. This location is very dangerous and one wrong maneuver can lead a cat to their death, often times, apprentices are told to steer clear of the area.
BEECH COPSE The beech copse is where the apprentices are often taken to be trained. It is a small clearing surrounded by various deciduous trees. It is located to the east of the territories, and serves also as an arena for sparring.
STEPPING STONES Across the stream surrounding the camp, there are some naturally-formed stones that allow access to the camp without getting wet. The stones are generally flat, but are quite slippery. It takes skill and precision to cross them, but most Riverclanners can with no problem.
Riverclan is a Pro-clan, meaning the majority of it's members worship and believe in Starclan. Their traditions and worship revolve around this concept. The non-worshipping of Starclan is discouraged, but otherwise there are no rules against the worship of any religion. The only exception is the Dark Forest, which is strictly forbidden to go there and/or train there. Twisted and evil cats are sent there for a reason. Riverclan cats posses many skills and techniques that many other clans don't. Because of the presence of the river within the territory, the cats here have adapted to it and used it to their advantage. These skills learned and taught by their ancestors have been passed down to the clan and helped it flourish even during Leaf-bare, when most clans are famished.
SWIMMING Riverclanners are known for their prowess in the water. They move in it with grace and can even fight in it. Kits are first introduced to the water at an early age, where they can wade in the shallow stream that borders the nursery. Only when the kits are apprentice-aged do they learn to swim in the larger River, where the current is much stronger. Riverclanners who are clan-born tend to have very glossy and beautiful coats. The extra oils on them helps repel water. Clan-born descent also often have webbed paws to aid them in swimming.
FISHING One of the most crucial skills taught by Riverclan is fishing. Every apprentice must learn, as fish are the primary food source of the clan. Riverclanners use their hooked claws to scoop fish out of the river as they pass by. They can do their either in the water, or waiting on the riverbank. Apprentices are taught both how to hunt on land, and fish. Many common fish found in the Riverclan river include trout, pike, salmon, minnows, guppies, perch, and many others.
COMBAT A pass-time of many Riverclanners is play water fighting. This seemingly innocent hobby can actually be training for possible real battles in the water with other clans. When there is a river nearby, Riverclan will always have the advantage in any battle. If the attacker isn't already at a disadvantage in the water, common and deadly battle move unique to Riverclan is holding the attacker underwater enough to weaken them and gain the advantage. Another move that is used to knock opponents over includes rearing up in the water and using the force of their body and forepaws and splash the attacker roughly. This is intended to weaken them as well as loose their balance and get caught by the current if there is one.

—Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory.
—Elders, queens, and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders. If any warrior or apprentice is sick or injured, they may eat while the elders, queens, and kits are eating.

—A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.
—Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.

—The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies, retires or is exiled.
—After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh
—A Gathering of all four Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time.
—Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.

—An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his/her battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or if it is necessary for self-defense.
—A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.
—Each Clan has the right to be proud and independent, but in times of trouble they must forget their boundaries and fight side by side to protect the six. Each Clan must help the others so that no Clan will fall.
—Cats on their way to the Moonstone are allowed to cross other Clans' territories to get to their destination.
—Cats may travel on other Clan territories if they have something to report or ask for help.
