Well, it had never been like herself to host social events. No, usually Lyrepaw spent as much time as possible hiding in the library, buried up to her nose in books and suffocating her mind with knowledge. But the serval, though quite the bookworm, honestly wanted friends. Didn't everyone feel a little lonely from time to time, with nobody to have a casual conversation with, or without someone they knew who was willing to share a serious discussion? Maybe she was alone in that "everyone", but she was going to do something about it.

She was going to host a game.

Though the spotted feline may have zero social skills, and wouldn't usually host such a thing, that didn't necessarily mean she was terrible at them. She was quite the confident public speaker, given an attentive audience and a situation that avoided embarrassment.

"Would anybody like to play two truths and a lie?" Lyrepaw would inquire, glancing around at all the unfamiliar NPCs. She would befriend them soon. All they had to do was show up and introduce themselves.

Expect games, one was never too busy that. So he trotted over and plopped down, "I'll play."

The sound of her voice briefly weaving through camp, followed by the suggestion of 'two truths and a lie', happened to briskly beckon him towards her. He was rather well versed in lies, and less-so in truths and honesty. Nonetheless, he happened to enjoy engaging in this game, in particular. He was.. somewhat good at throwing people off, he supposed. "Sure, why not?" Nighttales would hum, making his way over, and promptly seating himself.

Two truths and a lie? It was too soon for this again... Spectre was just a bad liar. Everyone knew it. Even she knew it. She was nothing like her boyfriend, in that regard. Even if someone believed her lie, she'd probably tell the truth about it not too soon after, anyway. "Alright... I guess I can play," she said, trying to refrain from sounding unhappy because of her huge disadvantage, taking a seat next to Ni.

Well, Mids had certainly dominated 'Never Have I Ever,' so she timidly approached in hopes of scoring another win in another game she was new to. "I'll play," she chimed in after the others had also voiced their interest. Come to think of it, she didn't think she'd met this gal before. Maybe she'd get to know more about her in this game; this seemed like that sort of game, after all.

Lyrepaw was pleased with the numbers that had shown up. She hadn't really expected so many, but she wouldn't complain. This was a quick and easy way to get to know people, even if she wasn't the best liar. The serval gave everyone a few minutes to state whether they would be participating or not, and then pulled a tight smile, wrapping her short tail around her. She straightened her spine and cleared her throat importantly, content with the feeling of being in charge - though she had to remind herself it was just a game, after all.

"Alright!" Lyre would begin on a bright note, slowly dipping her head to acknowledge everybody. "So first, you introduce yourself-" so she could get a grasp of their names, he most important part, "and then you state three facts about yourself. Two are true, but one is a lie. The others guess which the lie is, and the first to get it right goes next." Her mind gears turning fast and a lie ready to spout, she confidently volunteered as first to go.

"I'll go first. My name is Lyrepaw. I have read two books in one day." Yes, put the lie first, that was a good strategy - because since when had she restricted herself to only two books for an entire twenty-four hours? Never. She was certain of that, and rather proud. It was a sneaky fib. "I have hiked to the peak of a mountain." Though not very tall, it had been a steep and rocky climb. She and her family had been very close, taking off on outings every second day. On the note of family... "And... I have no siblings whatsoever."

Judging by your demeanor, you don't seem like the type to enjoy reading picture books, and would instead opt to read novels, right?" As most of a moderate age would. "Therefore, it'd be impossible to complete two, whole novels, in a single day. Or at least, it would be near-impossible." Nighttales could recall her having had books tucked away in the bag that she had been rifling through when he had met her, also, and were she to go through two books per day, even if not on a regular basis.. she would have likely required a larger bag.

The female was about to guess the mountain-climbing one when her leader spoke. He did have a point. After all, Mids considered herself a pretty fast reader, and could only read about 200 or so pages a day before her eyes got tired and she thought of doing something else. The kitsune would stop to wonder if one could possibly read even faster at an older age. Come to think of it, she had a friend where she came from who could read super fast, but admittedly he had to go back and reread everything because he hadn't fully absorbed the information the first time. On that thought, she decided to voice her agreement with Nighttales. "I think the book one is a lie, too. It's too hard, but it would be cool if you did read that much!"

Lyrepaw sat back as the others guessed away, a grin growing on her face. This was going rather well, she had to admit. The serval's tail ticked off the seconds patiently before she grasped the chance to step in. Somebody had gotten it correct, and pretty quickly, too. It was a relief to see that more than one person here had a clever mind.

"Nice guess," she commented, nodding to Derrick thoughtfully. "But it's true. My parents and I went out on day trips all the time. It was quite the hike."

Turning to the two who had guessed correctly, she offered a strangely huge grin. "Right, of course, Nighttales," she agreed, regarding the picture books. She did, obviously, prefer novels given the choice - and the thicker the better. The largest ones she could just manage one a day, whereas with a collection of short stories she would fly through them. And unlike Nighttales' assumption that it was impossible to read two novels in a day, she'd gone through three. She had nothing else to spend her time on, and books were far more exciting than real life. "And though you are correct, I've read more than two books in a day. I've never stopped at two." The spotted feline grinned again, and nodded to Midnightpaw in acknowledgement. "Well done, but Nighttales did get it first." It was his turn next.

Nighttales would add, quirking a fictional brow at the femme. A light smirk graced his maw, and he'd lean back on his hackles. "Wow, I never would have thought.." He had been somewhat interesting in books since he had been a child, but he hadn't been that avid of a reader. Three books in one day..? Or no, maybe it amounted to more than that? Who knew, honestly. The idea of it being a mystery was somewhat temptingly ominous, and therefore, he refrained from questioning it further. "Hmm, let's see.." What could he have done.. "Well, seeing as you all know who I am, I doubt I need to re-introduce myself." He knew everyone present, including Lyrepaw herself, having been present at her joining. Now he had to rifle through his mind for facts to present.. Ah. "I've died before, I have amnesia and.. I play the piano."

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px solid white; width: 450px; text-align: left; height: auto; font-size: 24pt; text-shadow;px px px white; color: #ffd1dc; font-family: georgia; line-height: 90%]

His ears flickered and he looked at Nighttales. Well, it's not a crazy idea that someone had died before and is alive again. He's seen a few people like that. "I'm going to say the lie is you have amnesia."

  • [align=center][fancypost bgcolor=none; bordercolor=transparent; borderwidth=0px; width: 370px;font-size:8pt;line-height: 130%;][justify]"Ah gee, I used to be better at lying back in the day." Nighttales would hum, in a jesting manner. Technically he.. wasn't that old - but hey, putting it that way made it sound as if he was a little older than he actually was.. Though, then again, considering the fact that he had died.. Well, he supposed that his age really did depend on whether you wanted to include all that time he had spent dead. "Or maybe you just know me too well." The leader would chuckle towards Derrick.

  • [align=center][fancypost borderwidth=0; width: 400px; margin-top: -10px; font-size:12px; font-family: felix titling; text-align: justify;]
Lyrepaw smiled, though listened intently as Nighttales listed out his facts, her eyes trained on him curiously. She didn't know him well, though it was worth a try despite. Her ears swatted away a fly as she thought quickly. Resurrection... wasn't too rare, in all honesty. The femme had heard of it before and it was more common in leaders, she'd read somewhere. She mentally crossed that off.

Now, amnesia. Nighttales seemed too intelligent to her, to have amnesia, though she couldn't be sure. She couldn't, and wouldn't delve through his memories to try and find a block, and so judging by his physical state, amnesia appeared unlikely.

As for playing the piano... that would require some serious skill, though wasn't impossible. The serval had never bothered to learn, and though she couldn't imagine Nighttales sitting tall at a glossy black instrument, she decided it was more likely than having amnesia. But by then, Derrick had already guessed.

"Huh, I was going to go for amnesia too." Though perhaps it would be better if she didn't go again. She smiled, dipping her head to Derrick. "You're up next, then!"

  • It was no mystery that Mist didn't know very many in the clan. In fact, he'd only met one person in the gathered group. But the black jaguar wanted to meet everyone, he wanted to make friends. He was just so shy.

And what emotions are you feeling a lot when you're shy? Anxiety and nervousness. The emotions that cause that stupid fog that clings to him to grow and thicken. Trying to obscure him from view.

The big cat took a few moments to concentrate and will the haze away, of course it never truly went away, but it would lessen to very thin tendrils of fog that lapped at his paws.

When he had himself under control, he padded up to the group playing Two Truths, One Lie. He caught the last statement, "I hate pinecones."

"That's a lie," the jaguar blurted and then instantly regretted. How rude of him to just jump in like that and quickly apologized, "I'm sorry." Though he was sure that statement was a lie, the feline smelled strongly of pinecones.

  • Mist smiled at Derrick, "It was such a hard guess..." He laughed. But now it was his turn, it really would be difficult for them to guess because he was new to the Clan.

"Umm..I once talked to a unicorn at the top of mountain. I used to live near SunClan. And I'm really good at catching fish." He finished and didn't even stutter.
