The floating islands covered the moon, rightly so as the shady female completed the deed. Regret filling her eyes, she slinked near the islands while the clan slept, setting down the basket of kittens- barely old enough to speak, much less understand the situation. Choosing the smallest she-kitten out of the four, she laid her carefully on the grass. With an awkward affectionate lick on the forehead, the mother picked up the basket and made off. "Goodbye, little one. I hope you have a better life here." With that, the little kitten would never know anything about her birth family, but only of where she had been abandoned.
The kitten mewled quietly, shivering from the heat deficiency that had previously been supplied by the close quarters of her and her siblings inside the basket their mother transported them in. She wasn't hungry, simply alone. Most likely, the long-haired blue lynx point wouldn't be found until morning, where she practically screamed out for someone, after sleeping where she'd been left for the rest of the night. "Hello?"
What was her name? What did her mother call her? Cloudy blue eyes starting to fill with tears, she pouted at her forgetfulness. Sweetkit, yes. That was it.
