Addy had no idea where she was. When her plane went down in the middle of the pacific, she figured she'd be dead within hours. A reasonable assumption when in saltwater and with nothing but the life jacket on your back- however, the water was warm in midsummer (enough she wasn't dying of hypothermia) and the plane's destination was Moloka'i. Though one of the smallest islands in the archipelago known as Hawaii, it was near many other very tiny islands.
Addy had, thankfully, not been knocked unconscious upon impact, but had soon passed out after freeing herself from the wreckage of the plane. She had only just woken up, in the middle of the Pacific, washed up on a sandy beach somewhere- deserted, alone, and dehydrated. It was all very cliche and aesthetically pleasing, because the island was a beautiful one, but Addy knew that she wouldn't survive long without getting out of the sun, finding fresh water, and bandaging her oozing gashes.
Water, water, everywhere, she thought deliriously, but not a drop to drink.
