  • [fancypost bordercolor=transparent; width: 450px][justify]Well shit. She'd forgotten her own damn birthday.

It'd been a while. Peachmoon had found some time to settle down and think for a little while. In fact, her typically stubborn self had shockingly shown some change over time. She was... a tad bit more down to earth. Not that anyone would believe that statement, but it was true. It was bound to happen eventually, right? She couldn't stay so little forever. She'd grown up. Sort of.

Now that her hibernation had concluded, Peachmoon finally decided she'd go out searching for her dearest, most darling husband. Approaching the garden with feather-like footsteps, the now creamy marbled feline scanned the area for her lover. How did she know he was there? Instinct of the devoted. Or perhaps she was just positively creepy. "Jax?" the girl called out, hushing the lively morning songbirds. She looked absolutely beautiful, and perhaps a little older. Had her hibernation allowed time to move a drop faster for her? She glanced downward, long lashes draping her eyes. She could only pray that was so.

  • [align=center][fancypost bgcolor=; border: 1px transparent solid; width: 450px; height: auto; font-family: verdana; font-size: 9pt;][justify]The Garden was certainly a beautiful place. It was small and tightly-knit, which he enjoyed. No one knew him here, no one had questions for him... Well, except for Capricorn. The discovery of his distant and rather mysterious daughter had certainly been a surprise for the canine. An unwelcome surprise, but he was happy to reconnect with her no less. He still needed to go talk to her at one point... there was obviously a lot they had to catch up on. He felt guilty for not being there to raise her, but then again he was thankful that she hadn't lived with him in WindClan when everything had gone to shit. The last thing he needed was another estranged child.

He had woken up early that morning to take a quiet stroll through the gardens. Jax found that the sight of morning dew shining on the flower petals was rather soothing— he could stare at them all day, if he wanted to. He wouldn't let himself dawdle for too long, though. Despite not being a man of importance anymore, he still had obligations to the Garden. Jax wouldn't let himself become a deadbeat now that he was convinced that he had peaked when he had become leader of WindClan. That would be shameful. The African canine stopped to stare down at a rose bush. The flowers were a beautiful light pink... At one point, he knew the meaning of such a flower, but the information was long lost, replaced by something else that was more important than the meaning of a simple flower. The rose's beauty was not lost on him, though. They reminded him of a specific woman...

"Jax?" He nearly jumped out of his pelt, startled by the sudden interruption. That voice... it was awfully familiar. Jax turned away from the rose bush and padded around the corner of a hedge, where he spotted a lovely feline looking down at the ground. He assumed that she had been the source of the voice, but unfortunately, he did not recognize his beloved wife in her new body. "Excuse me?" he questioned, tilting his head to the side. Who exactly was she, and how did she know him?

  • [fancypost bordercolor=transparent; width: 450px][justify]She fluttered her dainty lashes. Ah, of course he didn't recognize her. She couldn't blame him, honestly. Her pale coat had always been her signature appearance. Still, could he not familiarize her voice?

She puffed her cheeks up and pouted, "Do you really not remember me?" Boys were so useless. "It's your wife. Peachmoon Lucian-Banner." She stared at him with her milky blue eyes, re-familiarizing his being. However, she hadn't forgotten an ounce of him -- not even if he'd changed his own appearance. "Truly, have you forgotten me so?" she inquired with a dainty frown. She was indeed rather disappointed in her darling, however in the end her affection for her Prince Charming did not falter. She averted her cloudy gaze and sighed. "You left me."

  • [align=center][fancypost bgcolor=; border: 1px transparent solid; width: 450px; height: auto; font-family: verdana; font-size: 9pt;][justify]As soon as he saw that pout, he knew exactly who it was. He didn't even need her to introduce herself— only one person ever looked at him with that pout. Jax met her soft blue gaze with his own golden one, the honey hues glimmering with mixed emotions. "I thought that voice was too familiar," he would murmur, his eyes tearing away from his wife in favor of his paws. He felt like a child who got caught trying to run away. Guilt sat in his stomach like a heavy stone. To be honest, he had expected another heated encounter with her like the other time, but she was... oddly calm. It made him feel ashamed and selfish. How worried had he made her? Did she think that he had been with someone else? What pain had he caused her because of his own selfish desires?

As she stated the obvious, Jax's frown deepened and he felt his pelt burn in shame. "Yes. Something like that," the canine agreed. There was a long moment of silence as he mulled over his thoughts. This was the second time that he has ran away from his wife, from his familial responsibilities. What had he been thinking? What an awful man, doing that to his beautiful wife. Jax took a deep breath before looking her in the eye once more. "I'm sorry," he apologized quietly, his voice abnormally small. It wasn't much, and it was up to her to forgive him. After all, it had been careless and selfish of him to abandon her again.
