Cool! I was thinking that Asteroid plays the wrong cat, accidentally getting feelings for that cat, and he pushes them away like every other cat. They end up getting into a fight about something or other, and he confesses without thinking about it, friends get involved, maybe a love triangle. Other details may be added. Plot twists are very encouraged.
