(a rhetorical question, implying no person is like God), and/or 'gift from God'. the name rose's meaning is self-explanatory and his last name, quinn, means 'wise' or 'intelligent'.
    - nicknames & pet names: most people call him rosie, which he doesn't mind and actually loves. otherwise, everyone just calls him by his first name, when not rosie, or some pet name. he has many pet names, such as sweetie and angel (which came to be because he's just so sweet and loving and altruistic).
    AGE: briar's real age is twenty-three, though he could probably pass as a bit older, sometimes maybe even a year or two younger. his mentality, a lot of the time, is that of a child's, though; an intelligent, nurturing child—his mental age ranges from five to mid-twenties. he feels his age, or at least around his age, for the most part. he was born on the twentieth of february, which would make him a pisces, in london, uk.
    GENDER: he was assigned male at birth, and identifies as/feels male for the most part, albeit gender nonconforming in society's standards.

    - briar's known for being very optimistic, even in the worst of times, which is probably his best trait.
    - he's very intelligent, though he doesn't always seem like it.
    - he is probably one of the sweetest, most kindhearted people you could ever meet; he has a heart of pure gold.
    - the brunette has a soft and gentle voice, and rarely ever raises it; very rarely.
    - his anger levels are almost always below 0, and always tries to confront things with a sense of calmness.
    - briar is a very talented mediator, and can often times settle fights before it gets physical.
    - he's rather nurturing, and loves to take care of others. he's almost like a mother bear, though he tries to not overdo it and annoy/anger someone in the process.
    - he is also very benevolent and altruistic.
    - he's very artistic and creative, and very talented in making music.
    - rosie can be quite sassy and sarcastic, but it's mostly all in good fun; in a joking manner.
    - he's utterly compassionate, but sometimes his compassion comes to his disadvantage, hence leaves him vulnerable and easily hurt.
    - he's stubborn and determined, that's for sure--when he sets his mind to do something, he won't stop until he's done it, no matter what. sometimes it can cause downfalls, though, like lack of sleep.
    - like his compassion, his selflessness can be a good and bad thing. he cares much, much more for others than he does himself.
    - rosie is, without a doubt, childish, in a lot of ways. he can be rather annoying, but he tries not to be--he's quiet, but very childish in that silly, tries-to-ignore-bad-memories way.
    - he's very imaginative, and often has his head in the clouds.
    - he may be stubborn and intelligent, but briar is pretty gullible, most of the time.
    - he always tries to hide his own pain, and bad memories. he doesn't like showing any form of sadness, always wanting to be the happy one of the group so he can bring others' hopes up, even if his hopes are low.
    - briar is probably one of the most self-conscious, insecure people you could ever meet. when someone calls him annoying, or something, he'll die a little on the inside, and the dislike towards himself grows.
    - he's also pretty damn sensitive, and takes little jokes - you're so annoying, shut up you don't know anything, jeezus you're such a child - to heart.
    - he rarely gets angry, but when he does, he gets angry, and it's not something anyone wants to be around to experience.
    - he tends to space out a lot, which causes him to forget a lot of things (or, well, not know them in the first place, haha).
    - he also tends to forget to eat and drink a lot due to his spacing out and focus on trying to hold in any pain he feels (if any, of course), and has to constantly be reminded to eat and drink something.
    - he's an insomniac, mostly because he's such an anxious character. he's not pessimistic, but sometimes he can think of the worst outcomes to certain situations, and it'll leave him worrying about it all the time for hours on end.

    note: a lot of his quirks can be seen as headcanons as well.
    • he knows shorthand sign and jokes with arabel behind people's backs. he also carries her around in the pocket of his hoodie when she's a stoat.
    • he always has a hoodie on him. usually, it's the same tattered red pullover with frayed wrists and uneven strings.
    • his favorite food is a diner style cheeseburger, fries, and a tall chocolate milkshake.
    • his favorite ice cream flavor is chocolate, with black raspberry as a close second. his least favorite is pistachio, though he likes pistachios on their own.
    • he once drank a glass of toilet water (not used) for $10 so he could buy himself lunch when times were rough.
    • he really loves cats, beyond just the urge to chase them.
    • he lost his virginity in the backseat of a beat up flatbed truck. he was drunk, and she was the prom queen.
    • he can usually make people laugh, no matter the situation. his sense of humor is never dull, and he finds it to be a coping mechanism of sorts. sometimes his jokes enter borderline dark humor, but whether it's making a fool of himself to take the heat off someone else, or just cracking a lame knock knock joke at the right time, he can usually lift people's moods. he's the one people come to when they're feeling down but don't want to think about their problems or talk about them, just have a good time.
    • he keeps a flask of whiskey in his backpack, even though he doesn't really care for the taste.
    • he sometimes pretends he can communicate with dogs, and has been known to sit and pretend to have a conversation with them, much to everyone's amusement.
    • no joke about the cat thing. he once spent an hour and a half in a standoff with a kitten because he wanted to pet it. it didn't end so well, but no hard feelings.




    DISORDERS/DISABILITIES: slightly bipolar, his mood can swing at the drop of a hat. he also has a bit of adhd, and needs to occupy himself doing something with his hands or his mind. this does not affect him when he is hunting or when he is in his lycanthrope form, and he can sit for hours without moving when tracking prey.

    • constantly quotes movies, and can usually identify the movie a quote comes from.
    • takes stupid bets/dares for small amounts of money or random objects (i.e. he once accepted a dare for a small pin someone was carrying in their pocket)
    • keeps a small collection of stones, crystals, and shiny things.
    DO THEY HIDE THEIR TRUE OPINIONS/EMOTIONS FROM OTHERS?: if he doesn't know you, yes. with people close to him he is an open book.
    ETIQUETTE: ryker was raised to be a gentleman, though still be able to have a good time. he has good manners, and does not believe in the whole "respect is earned, not given" thing. instead, he believes everyone deserves respect, but it can be lost very quickly.
    OUTLOOK ON LIFE: generally positive. he sees it as the only way to survive what he has been through, and what the rest of the group has been through.
    RELIGION: he was raised a christian, and though he believes in the central ideas of the faith (for the most part), he does not actively practice it or obey the rules so to speak.
