Silverkit walked around in the clearing. Ever since she found WindClan, she hasn't been given a mother. Her small silver pelt shimmered in the sunlight.

Ermineleap saw the silver kit. She trotted towards it, and asked: "Where is your mother, young one?"
-
Silverkit looked up at the she-cat. "I don't have one," she replied.
-
Whitewind padded up."Hello!" she said to the kit.
-
Ermineleap licked the kit's head. "Are you looking for one?"
-
Silverkit ducked her head as Ermineleap licked it. "Yes," she replied. The young she-kit looked up at Whitewind. "Hi."
-
Ermineleap looked at the kit. "What is your name?"
-
Projectionpaw was looking for something too, but he was sure he wouldn't find it just sitting around. So anxous and excited was he, that the Apprentice was doing circles just outside the Nursery, too accustomed to the feeling of the hard-tracked ground to wander farther, though he certainly could now.
He flicked his ear at a few sounds-- birds, cars, a trickle of water falling a long way somewhere- and then raised his head at the conversation across the camp, which he could of course hear clear as a bell. The brown tabby walked out of his pace and straight over to the trio that now sat and stood talking.
"How can you not have a mother? That's like the saddest thing I've ever heard!"
Immediately, because for one thing Projectionpaw had no grasp on personal space, and for another he was just so terribly over-the-top sad for the girl, he pressed up against her in a nuzzle-glomp that might have sent the smaller kit tumbling.
-
Icepaw padded out of the apprentice den. She spots Projectionpaw and the kit, and immediantly finds herself so full of grieve and sadness, that she could almost yowl. She always had been very good in guessing other cat's feelings, ven if they tried to hide them. But this was new. The sadness came to her, not the other way around. Impressed by it, she wordlessly presses herself to the bodies of the to cats.
Ermineleap began to groom herself.
-
Silverkit tumbled over and giggled. She looked at Ermineleap. "My name is Silverkit. What's yours?"
-
"My name is Ermineleap. Nice to meet you!" Ermineleap smiled. "How old are you?"
-
"I'm three moons old!" Silverkit said this proudly and boldly.
-
"I'm 6 moons!" Projectionpaw announced proudly, puffing out his chest. He seemed unaware of having sent the kit into a tumble, but she wasn't hurt or upset so maybe it was all for the best. Projectionpaw wriggled forward and wound himself around Silverkit, head on one side and tail on the other. His eyes found their way to Ermineleap and he gave a tongue-wiggle.
-
Ermineleap smiled at the sight of the kit and apprentice. They really look cute...
-
Silverkit felt comforted by the two cats. "Finally I have two cats to be friends with."
-
"Of course, little kit!"
-
"Oh, you wanted to be friends?" Projectionpaw mewed, backing away suddenly and turning his head to the side. Quickly he gathered himself up and wrapped his tail around his paws, flicking the end of it gently. He could hear someone's heart beating a little ways away. The camp was always so full of sounds and activities.
"I don't know if we can be friends..."
-
Ermineleap lifted her chin. "What's wrong, Projectionpaw?"
-
Silverkit tilted her head to the side in confusion. "Why can't we be friends?"
-
He tried to keep composure, but it wasn't working, and finally he blurted it all out in a big giggle.
"Because you don't have a super cool Probro approved nickname yet!" he laughed, hopping up and headbutting her shoulder softly.
