☯ birdsong blushed. "i wasn't crying for my mother!" she defended herself before listening to the rest of the story with a grin. "we should, but i agree. maybe get some loner scent on us? make it at midnight?" she asked ashstar as soon as the apprentices started sparring. "i would blend in nicely, so i could pretend to be a loner that is intruding? and not all of us will go, so it won't be so suspicious." she added in, the grey cat flicking her ear.

bearpaw yowled in surprise, falling to his side. he pummeled as hard as he could with his back paws, to no avail. the muscular cat chuckled, keeping his claws sheathed as he pushed stormpaw to the side. "that was unfair!" he called out in defense, getting to his paws and crouching. "let's do this right!"

☯ birdsong nodded at ashstar and then looked to snowheart. "and on another note, you did not always win." she chuckled. getting to her paws, the slender deputy chuckle, narrowing her eyes. "if you did you'd fight me." making sure her claws were sheathed, she shuffled the dainty paws on the ground, a small dust cloud rising around them. she glanced at ashstar, her fur going back down to her spine. "but because we're not apprentices anymore..."

bearpaw tried to jump to the side to dodge the smaller tom but tripped over his own paws, slipping until his nose hit the ground. stumbling back up quickly, bearpaw darted to the side a little more, keeping his belly low. stormpw was smaller, and more than likely weaker - not a bad thing! - but he was faster and more agile, which were both good things in spars.

bearpaw ducked his head, though he still felt stormpaws paws graze over his ears. he play growled. "god move, stormpaw." he commented quietly, leaping forward and whipping his body around. his claws gripped the dirt and stone before sheathing again. he crouched down, ears flattening back in a mock pose of battle. "come at me!" he called, his voice joyful.

☯ birdsong chuckled. "are you?" the deputy questioned, before turning more serious. "be careful, bearpaw! stormpaw is smaller! if you can get one strong swipe in you should be good!" she called out to her son with a flick of her gray tail.

bearpaw heard his pretty mothers advice and nodded quickly. his eyes were narrowed, ears flattened, and his claws sheathed. belly low to the ground, bearpaw waggled his haunches slightly, just to give an edge to his pounce. leaping forward bearpaw attempted to swipe at stormpaws ears. feeling his paw hit his ears was a pleasant feeling, though it was just the tips and wouldn't have done any real damage if his claws were out. maybe caused a small nick at the most, not even painful. he leaped back again, though more to the right than before.

Palekit spun around and blushed, "Oh, hi." She mewed quietly. "I'm not supposed to be here, so quiet down." She ordered. She turned back around to watch the apprentices before looking over her shoulder, "Hey wait, who are you?" She whispered.
Deerflight stood and nodded, "Lead the way, Frozengaze."

bearpaw's face hit the dirt, sending pieces of the earth flying up. it didn't hurt, but his vision swirled around, the colors mixing together. he stood straight again, paws unable to keep him upright. wobbling around, bearpaw struggled to see straight again, shaking his head to clear his sight. he coughed a little bit, but shoved himself forward, his head lowered. what he was planning to do, he didn't know, but he could just stand around and wait for stormpaw to hit him again!

birdsong watched with caution. as a deputy to scold any claws, but as a mother to watch out for both of the apprentices. they were young and she didn't want either of them injured. she saw her son struggling to get back up after the blow and her heartbeat quickened, but it practically stopped as she saw him race forward. birdsong leaped forward, stopping bearpaw from charging with her own force. "you're too big, you'll crush him." she said in a serious tone, looking to stormpaw. she knew he probably could have dodged bearpaw's impulsive attack, but she didn't want to risk it.

☯ sending a glance to snowheart, the fawn colored apprentice rolled his eyes playfully. bearpaw chuckled. "i'm fine. that was a great blow stormpaw! you really made me daze off. my vision went blurry, that was cool." he informed his fellow apprentice with a flick of his tail. "that would work wonderfully in battle! just don't let your belly show so much next time!" he said, voice wavering still. maybe it did hurt, but not much. it was more shock.

birdsong chuckled at stormpaw's enthusiasm. "you did do it. good job." she said, praising the young tom with a blink of her eyes. the deputy lifted her tail high, pride in both of the apprentices. "that was a fabulous fight." was that a nonclan cat she smelled just now? no, it was probably her imagination.

☯ bearpaw considered it. it'd be a kind act towards their retired warriors, but this was ambush training! "no." he laughed. "i'll be coming with to training." he said with a flick of his tail.
