**Though he has dissociative personality disorder, both of his identities simply refer to themselves as 'Oz', so for the sake of simplicity, let's call them Oz 1 and Oz 2'. Oz 1 being who he presents himself as and Oz 2 being the mentally unstable side.

I couldn't tell you the exact moment when he went wrong, maybe he'd been born that way and I just chose to ignore it, or maybe there was a turning point... I began to first notice it after my divorce with my first husband, James... Oz's father. Oz began to ask me if I'd seen 'the flying cars' outside or 'the little turtle that lived in the sink' of course, at the time he was six, so I assumed it was an overactive imagination. However, this continued on throughout the years and innocent things began to turn into 'people lurking in the shadows' or 'voices in his head'. I'd heard things about people like him, people who saw odd things, but I refused to believe that was my baby, so once again, I ignored it. That was my biggest mistake.

I was a busy woman, my second husband worked away and I had a full-time job, so Oz's care was left to his elder sisters, yet when he was about ten, they began to tell me things that he did to them. He would become violent, sometimes bite them. They told me that he thought he was being held prisoner and that they were trying to kill him, another time, he was convinced that the mafia was out for his blood. We were confused but the point of ignorance had left, we knew something was wrong.

So we took him to a doctor, and after multiple tests, he was diagnosed with Schizophrenia and Delusional Disorder. He was put on medications yet seeing as he was young, that was as far as the doctor was willing to go. Unfortunantly, I didn't have time to homeschool him, so he had to continue his studies in public education. My second mistake, soon enough, we began to get calls and complaints, apparently he was scaring the other children... Nothing happened until he was finally kicked out of school when he bit a girl quite violently.

The rest after that was a blur, I think he became depressed, but it was so hard to tell. One moment, he was Oz, my Oz. A cheerful and friendly kid, even if a bit ditzy at times. And then others, he seemed so twisted and malicious that it even scared me, he said dark things, things I'd never thought I'd hear, not just from my child but from anybody. He threatened to kill us, he said that the only way we could stay a 'happy family' was in death. I just didn't know what to do.

It all ended when he tried setting fire to our house, luckily enough my daughters and I got out fast enough, yet Oz stayed, he got severe burns and was admitted to a hospital before we were told was being recommended to a mental hospital... It's hard but... I don't know what else to do. I want my baby back.

Oz's biological mother, she's a generally busy woman, who leaves the majority of housework up to her two daughters. When Oz was six, she separated from her husband and remarried soon-after. Considering the fact that Oz was her youngest, she always refers to him as 'her baby', she cared deeply for him, though showed it only through materialistic gifts instead of attention. When it was definite that Oz suffered from severe mental issues, she was distraught, blaming herself for the majority of his issues. She'll do anything to help him regain his innocence, yet a certain level of hope has already been lost.

— —James Higgens Oz's biological dad, he was divorced from Maria when Oz was six and has since gone missing. Though Maria separated from him for her own issues, it was a complete blessing in disguise. James was a drunk, a very stereotypical one as you might see on. T.V who lazed around the house drinking and relied on the wife to work. Whenever Maria would go to work and the two girls would be at school, he was left in charge of Oz. Times whenever he was severely intoxicated, he would usually grab the child and ultimately, abuse him sexually. This lasted from when he was two to the time he was six. Maria never noticed the marks, mostly because she never cared for him, the girls did yet were too young to know what they were.

Nicholas Carroll Oz's step-dad, a friendly and fair man who sees Oz as his own child despite being away often. Oz doesn't care for Nicholas and often rejects his attempts at bonding. When Nicholas found out about Oz's mental issues, he tried to be there for him as much as he could, but that resulted in pointless efforts.

— —Thalia Higgens and Bianca Higgens His twin sisters, the two are seventeen years of age at the moment and in their final year of school. Ever since a young age, they had been the care-takers of Oz and looked out for him almost like parents, this gives them a certain sense of maturity that's hard to reach at their age. They love Oz no matter what, and even when he started acting up, they felt no fear of him, only concern. That continues to this day, their only hope in life is to one day help him out of this dark stage and they often call in to the hospital to see how he's faring.

— — He knows no other family members, his biological father's side is as much a mystery as his dad is, his mother's family all live across seas, and he's never cared to ask about Nicholas'.

— —He's never been in a relationship before, once in kindergarten a girl confessed to him and he ended up accepting the feelings out of pity, yet that was as far as his romantic side could be taken... It ended after a week anyways.

— —Logan Lewis A boy who Oz had grown up with, Logan was with him through thick and thin. Naturally gifted with extreme empathy, Logan managed to overlook Oz's little quirks and hallucinations, even ignored when Oz would steal his things or issue him odd threats. However, when his mother found out about his best friend's mental state, she banned the two from talking and unfortunately, that's how things played out.

— —Nicky Sterk The girl who Oz bit and ultimately the one that got him expelled. Nicky was disliked by mostly all her peers, loud, bossy and overbearing, she was the definition of a teachers pet. The only person who would talk to her was the odd boy named Oz, the one who was a bit airy yet friendly enough. She'd been showing him how to do a project and then he suddenly turned on her, smile gone and teeth bared, he ended up taking some flesh. Needless to say, her parents got ahold of the school board. reason for admission
— —Oz had been documented for having a couple of mental issues since a young age and since then, had built up a record from both school and a couple of doctor's visits. He'd been found out to have a stash of stolen items, made threats to unassuming people, caused disruptions in class from clear hallucinations. As such, he was being closely watched. Unfortunantly, he attempted to burn his house down one day, reportedly the 'demon' made him do it. As such, he was taken to the hospital with 2nd degree burns and when released, was admitted to KBHH immediatly after.
