[fancypost borderwidth=0px; color: black; font-family: timesnewroman; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify; width: 420px; height:;]Lukas didn't know what to expect from watching her switch forms, but it was definitely not what he had envisioned. His mouth went dry as he watched her body change into the big, strange creature. He kept his face straight, though, through the whole entire process. It was painfully awkward to watch her switch physical forms like she did. Lukas's face heated as he ran his hand through his thick hair, something he rarely did. Ever.

"No, it's okay, really." Lukas reassured with an uncertain smile. There was just one thing that hadn't yet crossed his mind. How the hell am I supposed to get on her? He thought to himself. This was going to be the worst experience of his life, Lukas was sure of it. He cleared his throat and gave her a once over before asking, "Are you really sure you want me to do this?" Lukas frantically thought of ways to get out of the situation that he had gotten himself into.

Seeing no way out it, Lukas heaved a sigh and gathered all of his, and her, items before slowly, hesitantly making his way toward her. "How exactly, do I get on you?" He asked with a grimace. Lukas shifted his weight from foot to foot. Could she even carry all of that weight? Lukas shuddered. The only thing that scared him this much was his nightmares.[/fancypost]

-- The dragoness watched Lukas carefully, relieved to hear his words but she could tell from the look in his eyes that he was pretty shocked. Although as the focus turned to his uncertainty she quickly hissed at him. Slight annoyance writing over her face as she bared her sharp fangs. "We better be going through with this, It's not easy changing you know." She grumbled quickly before carefully glancing at her back and shifting her wings. Perhaps he could put his legs right behind where her wings started. When her wings folded they would cover his legs and provide some protection and some stability. Then she'd hopefully be able to extend her wings without him moving around. At least that was what she hoped would work out.

As Lukas approached with their items Eliza shifted a bit, she couldn't help but feel a bit nervous having him so close. She was pretty destructive in this body. The white and blue mythical reptile watched him impatiently as he shifted his weight from side to side, pondering how he'd approach this and with a growl she suddenly grabbed the back of his shirt in her teeth, trying her hardest not to accidentally snag his back. Hopefully, the material would hold as the girl lifted him off the ground with a bit of struggle, but turned her neck to try and put him on her back. Once she was certain he was up there she focused on shifting her own weight, moving side to side to try and get comfortable. The extra weight upon her back would surely slow her down a bit, but aside from that, she wasn't struggling as terribly as she thought she would. Clearly, she miscalculated how much stronger her dragon form was than her human form. "Just- try and be comfortable. Maybe try putting your legs right by the start of my wings. If you press against them they should help keep you in place. Just don't squeeze the life out of me." She spoke, carefully focusing ahead of her before slowly taking a few steps. She'd start out slow until he got the hang of how to balance whilst on her back. Once he would get comfortable with that she'd try running and seeing how that worked. Flight although... could wait. He didn't like it and she wasn't 100% how it would work with the extra weight so that'd have to be something to try at a later time. "Have you ever ridden horseback? If you have I guess you could try to think of it like that..- But don't you dare start making me your personal steed got that?" She tried encouraging him, although quickly glared back at him over her shoulder before a dragon-like smile crossed her face and she chuckled before lashing her tail from side to side as they moved.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; color: black; font-family: timesnewroman; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify; width: 420px; height:;]Lukas let out a terrified yelp as she picked him up and threw him on her back. He closed his eyes tightly after making sure he was secure. Lukas did not want to be able to see how high they were flying. It was only after a few moments when Lukas realized they were still on the ground. He let his eyelids slide open. "Um, aren't we going to fly?" He asked, confused. Lukas readjusted his hold on their backs. They were starting to get heavy.

When Lukas finally got the nerve, he looked at the forest surrounding him. He hated to admit it, but everything did look more stunning when you are up in the air. The young man then glanced down at Eliza, as her blue markings caught hold of his attention. "Does your coloring have a meaning?" he asked, almost regretting the question immediately. How was she supposed to know the difference of colors when she had nobody to compare them too? Lukas sighed and looked around once more, an idea popping into his head. What if he was able to make it seem as if he was still on the ground? He tested it, using his powers to change the look of the forest. Instead of being even with the middle of the trees, he now was at ground level, or at least he made it look that way. Lukas smiled, pleased with himself. He wondered what it would look like from Eliza's point of view. [/fancypost]

-- Eliza chuckled at his reaction, but huffed upon hearing him ask why they weren't flying yet. "Oh so you want me to fly do you?" She hummed curiously before suddenly testing it out. She jumped up briefly, spreading out her long wings and flapping to lift herself breifly off the ground; just to test the feeling before contiuing along the mid-line of trees. Not only would it be dangerous for them to fly above the tree line as they risked getting noticed; but the last thing she wanted was for Lukas to freak out and fall off of her. So she'd take things slow and steady. The dragoness did her hardest to try and keep herself even whilst flying.

Eliza then blinked curiously as she listened to the older boy. She was quiet for a moment before smiling weakly. "I wish I knew... But as you have probably already guessed I've never really had the chance to ask another about it." She laughed kinda awkwardly. "But... I've always dreamed of meeting a real dragon... I could learn so much about myself from them... Despite what everyone says I think they're still alive out there somewhere. Just hiding from the Kingdom. Kinda like us." She enthused the thought before noticing Lukas was doing something. It looked a bit odd to her, considering she knew that she was flying yet shadowy trees surrounded her. But she decided to not bother; realizing that Lukas seemed to be more at ease.

They flew on for a while longer until the white dragon began to breathe a bit heavily as exhaust overcame her. They'd gotten quite the amount further but the extra weight on her back drained her energy more quickly. That and Eliza wasn't used to being in her form for such extended periods of times. Suddenly Eliza slowed her pace, slowly descending to the ground and landing a bit roughly. She growled and hissed slightly at her faltering. The last thing they needed was for two tired people. Perhaps Lukas was at least feeling better? "I-I'm sorry. I'm getting a bit tired." Eliza admitted, her chest rising and falling as she tried to catch her breath. Slowly she let herself lay down completely, half collasping and half lowering herself to the ground so she lay on her stomach, although being careful as to not accidentally throw Lukas off.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; color: black; font-family: timesnewroman; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify; width: 420px; height:;]Lukas nodded at Eliza's answer. "Hopefully, wherever we are going, they will have people with powers similar to ours. I'd love to learn about what more I can do with my illusions" Lukas said with a small smile. When they finally landed, though a bit roughly, the young man gently slid off the dragon. He was worried about hurting her. "I'm feeling a bit better now, but if your too tired, we could set up camp soon." Lukas offered. He sort of hoped they would have made it a bit further today, but he was more than willing to continue their traveling tomorrow if that's what she needed.

Lukas crouched down to where he had set their bags. He took a few seconds to rummage through them, trying to find something suitable to eat. At last, he came up with a loaf of bread and some preserves. He set them on a worn, thin piece of cloth that he had backed with him the day he left the Kingdom. Lukas smiled at Eliza. "How about we take a small break for now, so we can eat. After that, if your feeling better, we can keep going for a bit." he suggested as he spread the fruit preserves over a small piece bread. Lukas set it aside for Eliza, who was still in her dragon form. He took a moment to look her over once more, amazed that the same girl he had met while escaping had the ability to turn into such a powerful creature. He must have been staring for quite some time, as Eliza gave him a weird look in return. Lukas blushed a little and quickly focused his attention to the piece of bread he was currently piling in his mouth. He was starving. They had both skipped breakfast that morning, and it was now nearing midday. At the rate they were going, they would need to start either hunting for their food, or start stealing from people. As much as Lukas hated the idea, he was willing to do whatever it took to get out this damned Kingdom. [/fancypost]

OCC-- Oh sorry about that! I must've missed it! ^^

IC-- Eliza nodded in agreement and sighed in slight relief as Lukas moved off of her back, she laid down a bit messily although watched the boy curiously as he started pulling food out of his bag. Now that she thought about it, she was pretty hungry. Thankfully her dragon form didn't really need to eat, so she didn't have to go complete dragon and go around eating animals. But in her human form, she did have a slightly bigger appetite than most. She assumed this was because she had her dragon side. The dragoness then nodded, listening to him before smiling at him. A nice break would definitely help.

She hummed gratefully as a piece of bread was moved into her direction and she decided it'd be better to transform to eat it. Although just as she was about to get up and move somewhere else she caught Lukas staring at her. She cast him an awkward glance but she couldn't help but feel a bit flustered herself as she noticed him quickly avert his eyes. Eliza took that time to get up a shift a few feet away before transforming back. The red flames engulfing her dragon body and seeming to burn away all the extra mass before leaving the shorter red-haired girl in its wake. Eliza sighed, glad to be back in her human form before timidly returning to where her food was. The girl sat down and ate it carefully, savoring it's nice taste. The jam on top certainly helped it taste better. Then the girl shuddered briefly as a gust of wind rushed through the forest, giving her a chill. She glanced over at the bag with curious blue eyes before looking back to Lukas. "Er- Sorry to be a bother. But do you know where my cloak is?" She asked curiously. It generally helped keep her cozy in human form. In her dragon form, her thick scales kept her insulated with her abnormally high body heat. And though in human form her skin was always abnormally warm, she still could get cold.

IC: Lukas eyed Eiza as she transformed back into her human form. His mouth opened slightly, as watching her shape shift never failed to amaze him. Once she was back to the cute, red haired girl he had met earlier, Lukas resumed preparing more bread for him and Eliza both, occasionally sliding a piece across the cloth to her, offering a smile each time he did so. He had to admit, taking a break from the constant running they had been doing earlier felt nice.

Lukas's eyes snapped to Eliza's face when she asked for her cloak back. With a quick, barely there nod, Lukas turned around and began rummaging through their bags, in hopes of locating her cloak. The young man began to panic, though, once he reached the last bag without a single sign of the cloak. He took his time sorting through the contents, his worry palpable and thick in the air. It took a few seconds before at last, Lukas found her cloak. He tossed it over to her, slightly red-faced. "Here. For a second I thought I lost it, but there it is" Lukas admitted. He flashed her an apologetic smile before going back to their meal. By now, only one piece of the bread was left, and the young man offered it to her, rather than take it for himself. After all, he wasn't the one carrying her on his back all day. It surely had taken a toll on her. Which brought him to his next question. "So how was flying and everything with all the extra weight?" Lukas asked, a curious glint in his eye. She seemed to have handled the task well enough, but if their was one thing he had learned about this girl in the short time they had been together, it was that she was a lot stronger than he initially thought. He had no doubt that even if Eliza was tired, she would do her best not to show it.[/fancypost]

OOC-- I was thinking to make it interesting and to kinda prolong their escape, they should get captured and dragged into the castle dungeon or something like that and be forced to escape. That way they'll have to fight the kingdom's knights and maybe some dangerous pets of the King and it will bring some action!

IC-- Eliza smiled gratefully, eating the bread as it came her way, very grateful for the extra energy and nutrition. Although she didn't eat too quickly, she took her time and relished in the moment of her relaxation. Her shoulders were a bit sore but it was nothing she couldn't handle. The girl watched as Lukas fished around their bags, seeing the slight panic on his face made her frown in slight worry but she sighed in relief once he tossed it back to her. She quickly threw it over her shoulders, tieing the front and snuggling into it happily. As simple as it looked the cloak was rather important to her. She'd grown attached to the old thing. "Thank you!" She smiled over at him, a cheery grin covering her face as the hood was up over her head. She seemed to relish in the insulation it brought her. Although as Lukas slid the last piece of bread over to her she blinked at him uncertainly, about to open her mouth to question if he wanted it until he cut her from her thoughts by mentioning the flight. Eliza smiled once again and took a bite of the bread before clearing her mouth and replying.

"Well it was a bit more than what I was used too... I'm also not used to staying in my dragon form for so long. But it wasn't as bad as I originally thought it'd be!" She replied, taking another bite before humming and blinking her icy blue eyes in slight amusement before lifting the rest of her bread in front of her and grinning before blowing a small amount of fire from her mouth and lightly toasting the bread. She giggled and took one last bite of it, nodding contently before moving the rest back over to Lukas for him to try. She enjoyed her fire magic, though she looked forward to learning different kinds of fires. "So... I never really asked before... But what do you plan to do when we get out of here?... Do you have something you need or want to do?" She asked curiously, her blue eyes dimmed slightly, wondering if they would part ways once they got out. The thought was slightly disheartening, she'd grown rather fond of Lukas, even if only in a few days. He was just like her, and she just like him.

IC: Lukas nodded as she talked about their recent flight. He was relieved to know that she had little problem carrying him while flying, and glad he hadn't hurt her or anything of the like. Lukas watched her with an amused expression on his face before gratefully accepting the small piece of bread, now warmed, thanks to her fire. He stuffed it in his mouth, if only to buy time in order to form an answer to Eliza's question. Reluctantly, the young man swallowed and then, unnecessarily, cleared his throat. "Well, I haven't ever been out of the kingdom before, so I'm hoping that whatever waits outside will lead me to a safer place." He paused and quickly glanced up at her. To his dismay, Lukas couldn't quite read her expression, but he could tell something similar to doubt laced her features. Having nothing else to lose, The young man continued. "That's probably my number one priority." He declared. "I just want to find a village with people like us. Where people with our powers aren't put to death." Lukas finished. Just then, something crossed his mind that he hadn't put much thought into, aside from right now. Would she want to come with me?

Lukas rose from his spot on the forest floor. With a quick glance at the sky, he could tell they had a few hours left before it was dark. After slinging his bags over his broad shoulders, Lukas extended his hand out of Eliza. "Care to run some more?" he asked with a smirk that so commonly played on his lips. As the two prepared for their next run, Lukas couldn't help but think that if she decided to leave him, life outside of the Kingdom would become much more unbearable than he'd originally thought.[/fancypost]

OOC-- Yeah that works! and I agree I'm very fond of this roleplay ^^

IC-- Eliza listened to him carefully nodding in agreement, someplace safe huh? That sounded nice. Her face kept kinda hidden as he continued, she didn't wish to concern him any. After all, for all she knew, maybe he was eager to get away from her. Just use her to help him get out of this hell hole. And though she wanted to get out too, the thought of being using was, even more, heart breaking. Her curious mind continued to wander all the possibilities. It wouldn't be the first time she was betrayed by others. She should be used it by now. But there was still a chance that he was just truly trying to help her too. She forced a kind of cold smile, before shaking her head at her own thoughts. Just focus on the positive thoughts Eliza. She repeatedly thought to herself. Thankfully the girl was pulled from her thoughts when Lukas spoke again and she allowed a smile to lighten her face as she looked at him. "That makes sense. I just really hope there is a village like that." She laughed softly, for all they knew they could be the only two who'll make it out. There was never news about other people with strong magic other than the ones who were caught and 'put to justice'.

Then the red haired girl glanced up as Lukas now stood before her, offering his hand. Her bright blue eyes widened ever so slightly at his smirk, she couldn't help but admit he was a pretty handsome guy. But she quickly shook off those thoughts, trying not to think too hard about it as she took his hand and returned a big grin at him. "Why of course Lord of Darkness." She teased, laughing a bit herself at the power-related nickname before hoisting herself to her feet and grabbing her bag. She made sure it was on right before turning back to Lukas and nodded as they began their journey again. It would be best to try and make as much progress as they could before dark. After all, the farther they were from the Kingdom the safer and closer to the freedom they were. The thought was exhilarating, they've made it so far, surely they were ahead of the guards! They were practically free.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; color: black; font-family: timesnewroman; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify; width: 420px; height:;]Lukas grinned as they took off into the woods. They ran steadily for a while before Lukas heard a rustle deep within the woods. He slowed to a stop, willing Eliza to do the same. "Sh. Eliza, do you hear that noise?" He asked, concern showing on his face. He waited for the noise to sound again before making his decision. Lukas looked at Eliza. "I think we should probably ignore it. It could just be a rabbit or something" He pondered, though he didn't quite believe his own words. With a shrug of his broad shoulders, Lukas started walking again, only this time, he used his powers to cover what ever noise the two of them made.

Once he figured they had passed the creature, the young man began jogging again, his breathing labored. Lukas pushed every thought from his mind and focused on the task at hand. They'd be able to stop and set up camp in an hour or so, if things went as planned. Somewhere along the way, Lukas began humming quietly to himself. It was a tune he had only heard a few times, sung to him by his mother when he was little. When he realized he was doing it, hit face grew hot and he muttered an apology to Eliza. He probably sounded awful to someone else. They endured the rest of that hour in silence, only the birds' whistling to keep them company.

Once the sun fell over the horizon, Lukas slowed his pace and took long measured breaths. Though he had trained for it, he was still surprised at how hard running long distance was. After a short while of searching, they had found a suitable area for camp and Lukas began gathering materials for a fire. He later returned with a pile of fallen branches and some twigs. Lukas skillfully set them up in the middle of their small camp and left it to Eliza to light them. [/fancypost]

Eliza ran after him, doing her best to keep pace as they ran through endless trees. At least the scenery helped keep her mind off of the slight aches in her legs. Although as Lukas mentioned a noise Eliza grew tense; she wasn't sure if she heard it but once she heard him brush it off as nothing she continued to follow a bit closer, if anything were to happen she'd fight to protect him. As they continued running the girl caught his quiet humming and a intrigued smile began to glow on her face as she quietly watched and listened to him. The tune was unfamiliar to herself but she assumed it held some meaning of importance to him. She noticed him stop although and she frowned a bit, disappointed he had stopped but seeing his face redden only made her fluster a bit before letting out a small giggle.

After a while longer of running Eliza was rather relieved to see Lukas slow to a stop, the sun was beginning to set over the horizon and darkness slowly took over the sky. Noticing the fire pit Eliza grinned and took a deep breath in before breathing out a small stream of fire onto the dry sticks, allowing them to catch before creating a self sustained fire. The red haired girl smiled proudly at her work before putting her bag down and retrieving her quilt Jera made. She laid it down nearby the fire, but not to close to risk it catching aflame. And then Eliza eased herself down onto it, wrapping her black cloak tightly around her and smiling as she gazed into the dancing flames, the light of the fire reflecting in her light blue eyes. She then slowly reached her hand into the fire and pulled out a small portion of it, a tiny floating flame that sat on her hand. She giggled again, amused by the little trick before glancing over at Lukas to wait for him to prepare for bed. She watched him for a while before smiling and clearing her throat to grab his attention. "Hey. Try to get some sleep tonight okay?" She spoke softly, her voice suddenly warmer than before as she gazed over at him. "I don't care if your scared. Or if you have stupid night mares. J-Just try and focus on something, focus on something good or something that makes you happy!" She added, hoping her advice would help him a little. It used to help her when she was younger. She'd have constant night terrors of being a dragon and running into her friends and foster family in her state. They'd stone her, throw things at her, yell angrily at her. But she just imagined a trail of flames that lead her away. Away from the people and creatures that hated her and towards a unknown figure. She never knew who that person really was in her dreams but she knew that they were comforting and that they were always there for her. That made her smile softly before she turned her attention back to Lukas.

"Goodnight Lukas." She added with a smile before snuggling into her cloak once again and closing her eyes to drift off into a pleasant night's sleep.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; color: black; font-family: timesnewroman; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify; width: 420px; height:;]Lukas listened intently as Eliza talked to him about his nightmares. Though he didn't typically enjoy being the center of attention, part of him was grateful that she understood what he was going through. That night, Lukas attempted to use the little advice she had given him, so he took a moment to mull over what made him happy. After a few minutes of thinking about this, he finally came up with his answer. Satisfied, the young man spread out his sleeping back next to where Eliza lay. He quietly tucked himself underneath the ratty covers, before murmuring "Night Eliza" in response. He closed his eyes and allowed his breathing to settle, all while thinking about how the two of them had met, and that he was forced to go through this alone.

He had made it through half the night before shooting up out of his sleeping bag, sweat dotting his brow. Lukas sighed angrily as he trudged to the opposite side of the fire. The young man sat down and put his face in hands, trying to forget about his most recent nightmare. This one had been about his family, captured and killed for not turning Lukas over to the king. His throat ached, no doubt because he had been screaming. He glanced back over at Eliza, glad that she still appeared to be sleeping. Lukas then looked up at the sky. It was still dark out, and the stars glistened brilliantly against the pitch blackness of the night. After some thought, Lukas laid down on his back and stared up at the sky, attempting to clear his mind. He must have stayed like that for quite some time, as he was still awake when the first rays of sunlight began to peak through the trees. Quietly muttering to himself, Lukas rose to his feet with the intent to prepare a small breakfast for the two of them.

It didn't take long before Lukas had gathered a small assortment of dried fruits. He took note of what they had left and decided against anything more. They would need to be careful of how much they consumed. The young man resumed humming to himself as he laid out the fruit on the same cloth he had used for the bread. When he finished, pleased with his work, Lukas made his way to where Eliza was sleeping and crouched down beside her. He gently prodded her until her eyes fluttered open. "Hey Eliza, time to get up, alright?" he said gently. If they didn't get moving now, the two of them wouldn't make it to the border until tomorrow, which was something neither of them could afford. The girl had snored softly in her sleep as she always did, she managed to get a goods night rest but during the middle of the night she swore she'd heard someone cry out. Although too consumed by her sleep she merely deepended it as she fell back asleep, unaware that cry had been from Lukas. Suddenly as the sunlight began to peer through the trees, casting shadows over them Eliza stirred. Twitching slightly in her sleep before she heard a voice and felt someone poke her. The red haired girl's face scrunched up and she hissed lowly before her blue eyes blinked open and she realized Lukas before her with some kinds of fruit behind him. Curiously Eliza perked up, yawning and unraveling herself from the knot she was in with her cloak before sitting up and dusting herself and her quilt off. "Huh okay, good morning Lukas." She greeted happily before taking one of the dried fruits and popping it into her mouth. She grinned slightly, finding the dried peaches in particular enjoyable and she contiued to eat a few of the assorted fruits, careful not to take more than Lukas. Thankfully he looked a little bit better today, perhaps he'd taken her advice? Though she could still see from the look in his eyes that he hadn't slept as fully as he should've. She merely sighed at that and popped one last peice of fruit into her mouth before nodding and looking at the fire. With a small grin she leaned closer to the small, dying flames before inhaling the rest of the flames and putting out the fire. It looked as if she'd eaten it but really she just took back some extra fire power. She couldn't 'eat' lots of fire although, as it was a trick she learned only a while ago and it was tricky to accomplish. But she could take in small amounts of flames. The girl laughed slightly at how weird it must've looked before returning to her bag and packing away her quilt and few other things.

"The quicker we get moving the closer we'll get to the border! Who knows! If all goes well we might get close to it today!" Eliza chirped excitedly, her heart racing at the idea of true freedom. While the Kingdom could try to chase them outside of the border, it'd be useless as other Kingdom's could suspect an attack and there were so many places to run not even the Kingdom would know where to find them. The girl smiled and looked up at the sky, her blue eyes shining brightly. "Plus the weather looks good today! I think luck is on our side!" She giggled, adjusting her cloak and backpack before waiting for Lukas to begin their run.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; color: black; font-family: timesnewroman; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify; width: 420px; height:;]Lukas sat down next to Eliza as she ate. Though he wasn't particularly hungry, he decided it would probably best to eat, if only to make up for energy he lost by not sleeping. Lukas popped a few pieces of fruit in his mouth, leaving the bulk of it for Eliza. Though he was concerned he wasn't eating enough himself, the young man decided to put Eliza before him. He made sure she was first priority from this point onward. For everything she had given up for him, it only seemed fair.

After they finished their meal, Lukas rose to his feet and brushed of his clothes. More grime coated them than he'd expected after only two days. He decided that once they escaped the kingdom, the first thing he wanted to do was to get were some new, clean clothes. For now though, he was stuck in his current apparel. After stuffing his sleeping bag back into his burlap sack, Lukas hoisted them over his shoulder. Since he was feeling pretty well off today, he even offered to carry Eliza's pack. He added it to his own supplies and sent a smile in her direction. He noticed the way in which she put the fire, and couldn't help but laugh, something he hadn't done in days. It felt nice. Lukas nodded along as she spoke, her voice full of hope. He listened happily, relishing this moment of peace. Today was bound to be a good day for the both of them.

Lukas joined Eliza where she stood, waiting. "So how did you manage to inhale that fire earlier?" He asked, chuckling quietly. He wanted to ask about it right after she had done it, but decided they could use some conversation as they ran. Lukas took off at a brisk jog, matching his pace to Eliza's. He figured they would be able to reach the Kingdom's border before sundown, if they kept the steady pace. To take his mind off of his burning calves, Lukas imagined what life would be like once they'd escape. Whatever it turned out to be, in the end, he just hoped he met more people like him. Eliza kept in pace with him, a little bit embarresed that he'd taken her bag. It made running so much easier and it gave her shoulders a chance to relax but it made her feel bad. Although upon hearing him laugh she smiled and laughed softly in return. He had a nice laugh, it felt good to hear. As they began running and Lukas asked the question about the fire she merely shrugged whilst keeping pace with him. "It was a trick I learned only a few weeks ago! I figured since my body was pretty much fire resistant, I wondered if I could swallow it. So I tried it and volia, I pretty much ate it and consumed a bit of it's energy." She laughed, it sounded kinda ridiculous, just walking up to a fire and trying to breath it in. But it worked and thats how she figured it out. "Although it does feel weird and sometimes depending on what the fire is made from it can taste really bad and make me sick..." She whined softly at the memories. She'd attempted to eat a fire that was burning rubber and oh boy was that one fun day. She could remembering throwing up the entire day and to make it worse she caught a terrible fever. She grimaced at the thought and laughed awkwardly. "That and trying to take in a lot can hurt a bit." She added, explaining all she knew about it to him. She admired being able to share this information so openly with someone.

Then out of curiosity Eliza returned a question to Lukas. "What about you? What's the newest kind of shadow skill you've learned?" She enthused, eager to hear more about his powers as well. She knew that he himself was surprised when he made a coloured shadow that one time. But she wondered if that was something new he kinda figured out. Although as they talked Eliza kept her pace up, occasionally running ahead a few paces to scout around since she had less weight on her shoulders. The girl kept looking back at the brown and blonde haired boy, wondering if she should try and take her bag back. She'd hate to have him burn so much energy. They needed to work through this together if they hoped to get close to the borders by sunset.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; color: black; font-family: timesnewroman; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify; width: 420px; height:;]Lukas listened intently as she explained more about her powers. He would be happy to listen to her talk all day, but he found himself pleasantly surprised when she asked about his powers. He cleared his throat, shifting the weight of their bags to his other shoulder. Lukas drew in a deep breath before speaking. "Well, Dragoness" He began with a winning smile. "That other day when I conjured up that colored illusion was probably my most recent trick. Usually my illusions only come in black and white. It was probably because I had such a stunning model to go off of." Lukas laughed. He thought about his other abilities before adding on to what he said just a second ago, more serious this time. "No, but for real, I think the most significant thing I've leaned lately would have to be raising whole armies of shadow figures from the ground, and then controlling them individually." Lukas mused. He noticed her glance back at the bags he carried multiple times. "You can take yours back if you would like, but I'm okay carrying it." He insisted. He truly didn't mind doing this one thing for her.

After realizing she probably wasn't going to let the whole bag thing go, Lukas surrendered hers over. He wasn't going to admit it, but the lighter load felt incredibly easier on his shoulder, which were beginning to throb. Refusing to acknowledge the dull pain, the young man looked at the sky, taking note that it was nearing midday. It would only be a few more hours before they reached the border, and with it, their freedom. Lukas relayed the information to Eliza, grinning with happiness. He couldn't wait to finally leave this dreadful kingdom, and he knew Eliza felt likewise. He watched her as she ran, trying to think of how he should word his next question. "So, um, when we reach the border, would you want to split up or..." Lukas trailed off, a tinge of pink coloring his cheeks.

The girl couldn't help but let out a small giggle at hearing her nickname, it made her smile reminding her of Jera. She wouldn't how that old woman was doing these days although she quickly shook away the thought as she focused her attention back on Lukas to listen about his magic. As he mentioned being able to colour the image of herself she couldn't help but blush and timidly glance away, hoping he didn't catch her flustered face. Eliza wasn't complimented to often, but to have her dragon form complimented? It was an entirely new feeling for her. She couldn't help but feel a bit warmed up by his words but she quietly turned her attention back on him to listen more.

Shadow armies? That sounded pretty cool, her icy eyes blinked curiously and she smiled back at him. "Armies huh? That's pretty amazing, you must get headaches from having so much go on in your head..." She pondered aloud before hearing him. She really did want her bag back, not because she didn't trust him, no it wasn't that at all. She didn't want to burden him further. She gratefully took the bag back, quickly thanking him for carrying it in the first place. Then as they both glanced up at the sky Eliza sighed softly and returning the excited grin Lukas had cast her. But then when the boy spoke up again she paused, it was what she was thinking about the night before. Whether they'd split up or not once they hit the border. Eliza slowed a bit, shyly scratching her wrist as she forced herself to looked down, uncertain with how to respond. Did he even want her to stay with him? The thought of them traveling together and going on adventures and journeys sounded pretty fun. In fact, she admired the thought of having such a companion. But whether he wanted the same she was unsure of.

"W-Well. I'm not sure... I-I mean if you don't mind me staying with you a-at least until we find a village or something. I wouldn't mind that." She replied a bit awkwardly, it'd probably sound stupid or cheesy if she just told him she'd be willing to travel with him forever. After all, the two had only met a few days ago. But to Eliza, she felt she'd connected with him the moment she punched him; awkwardly enough. She kinda smiled at the thought before nodding and clarifying. "If you're okay with me sticking around, then I am too." She smiled at him, casting him her cheery full grin completely with closed eyes and her big content smile. Then Eliza resumed her previous and quicker pace, jogging alongside Lukas towards the hope of true freedom. Nothing could ruin this moment for them. They only had a little longer to go now.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; color: black; font-family: timesnewroman; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify; width: 420px; height:;]Lukas contemplated what Eliza had said. He felt himself smile at her words. He was glad that she wanted to stick with him through this whole journey. Lukas nudged her with his elbow. "It would be nice to have you around. My own personal pet dragon. I like it" He teased. Lukas was suddenly really looking forward to whatever lay ahead of them, and the fact that Eliza would be with him every step up the way was like the icing on the cake.

A few hours later, the two of them were finally nearing the border. Lukas couldn't help the grin that was plastered over his face. He was so excited at the thought of real, true, glorious freedom, that he hadn't remembered to even check for the guards that so often patrolled the Kingdom's borders. Instead, Lukas cast an excited glance at Eliza as he carelessly made his way to the border, made known by the chain link fence that wrapped around the very edge of the forest. After sending a hurried nod to Eliza, Lukas began to climb, his strong muscles allowing him to easily scale the fence. He turned back and waited for Eliza to do the same. It was in that moment when Lukas heard them. To his left, a large group of soldiers were running toward them at full speed. "Damnit, Eliza, we have to go right now" He warned, motioning her to hurry up. He wasn't about to give up his freedom, not when they were this close. Lukas watched dreadfully as the soldiers came closer and closer. Seeing no other option, Lukas harnessed what little energy he had left, and plunged them all into darkness.[/fancypost]
