MORTEM WARS [RP THREAD (REBOOT)]

On Earth, thousands of ships began leaving the Tower and heading to Venus. The Last City was buzzing with activity. Everyone was on high alert. The drums of war had been sounded. The Vex had returned, and we're fighting with more than they ever thought they had.

The campaign of Venus would be long and hard. Led by Fireteam Cerberus, they would strike the Citadel with all they had to attempt to weaken the Vex hold on the planet. They failed their first time, they wouldn't fail this time. They couldn't. For the sake of all humanity. For the sake of the universe. No, the Multiverse. They needed a way into the Black Garden. And quickly.

Something terrible had arisen. A great Darkness has reawakened. The Darkness that's consume light and life alike. The conquering Darkness that wanted everything it could have.

The Black Heart beats once more.

The Guardians had failed when they tried to destroy the Undying Mind. Their strike team was slaughtered, and now the Black Heart has learned from her mistakes. And she will take back all she has lost. Venus was the starting point in this dimension. But more were to follow. Vex scouts discovered many, many more civilizations. But one caught her eye. While not the most powerful, this UPM had power, no doubt. But what brought attention to them was their expansion across dimensions. A threat to the Vex rule of the multiverse.

And all threats must be destroyed, of course. Soon. Very soon. No.... Now.

Their military worlds were being marked by oracles as she thought to herself. Though she wouldn't doubt the people of the UPM would be shocked by the alien presence. They weren't attacking the home dimension yet. No, just all their military installations across their multiple dimensions. To prevent reinforcements when the main attack began. Very soon, they would feel the wrath of the Vex. Soon.

The Guardians went from pouring some to nearly all of their military assets into keeping Vex presence on Venus to a minimum. But they had to began dividing their armies. When Vex began popping up on the Moon, Mercury, and Old Russia. The fighting was almost at a complete stalemate, but the Guardians still had an edge.

With alien ships nearing their home system, the Warmind informed the Guardians and Fireteam Gorgon left the fight on the moon to speak with the alien fleet. "Attention intruding fleet. We are the Guardians. State your business here, or leave. If you show any sign of hostility, we will open fire," broadcasted the Fireteam leader. Rasputin's laser array was charging and ready to fire if needed. They were on extreme high alert with the war in their own solar system.

Meanwhile the Vex had their eye on the UPM fleet that had just entered the system. They saw this as an opportunity to sever their connection to the main defensive fleets that could be used to halt any defensive efforts when the Vex first attacked. Suddenly, the capital ships of Notch's fleet would notice a sudden spike in extreme hostile activity near all engine rooms. Vex Minotaurs and Hydras pounded them with powerful rounds meant to disable them so that they couldn't escape as a larger boarding force teleported on board it consisted of Vex Goblins, Hobgoblins, Harpies, and was led by Minotaurs. The main invasion force attacked the control deck of the capital ships. Meanwhile Fanatics teleported in the middle of any of the defensive constructs on board the ship and detonated in an attempt to disable them.

On the other offensive Vex front, the tame yellow oracles that simply revealed their hidden enemies disappeared and were replaced with bright red ones. If they weren't destroy right away, Entity's fleet near them would begin seeing a darkness slowly creeping along the edge of their vision, beginning to blind them. If the oracles were destroyed while this happened, the darkness would go away and they would see normally once more. But either way, a large Vex invasion force began the invasion by teleporting Fanatics in and having them detonate near explosive and defensive constructs so the Vex could take a hold of the planets much easier. This was done to all military planets outside of the home dimension of Minecraftia. Meanwhile on the least inhabited section of the planets massive Vex forces mainly comprising of Goblins and Hobgoblins arrived and began to terraform all the planets they came across. If not wiped out quickly the planet would be theirs in a matter of days. Cyclopses and Hydras surrounded them in an attempt to secure the perimeter and Minotaurs also stood on stand-by.

Before the Guardians could respond the ships disappeared. The Fireteam of six were the only ones who followed. Everyone else was busy fighting the Vex in their own system. The jump ships teleported them on board the ships and they began attacking the Vex near them, but they couldn't hold on forever. "This is Gorgon Leader to Fleet Commander Notch. These biological machines are the Vex, and they're all over our own system. We can't lend you any of our help until our fight with them is over. Our sensors are going haywires, we aren't in our galaxy anymore according to our ship maps and Vex are swarming all over this ship. When we're done here we need you to take us back," transmitted the Fireteam Gorgon leader. Their own jump ships couldn't take them back through dimensions. They'd need the UPM for that. In exchange, they'd help them for now.

With the Elite fleet out of the way the Vex pushed on their attack on the Minecraftian military worlds. Ammunition and supplies were being destroyed while Cyclopses fired at troop barracks and any star ships in construction to destroy them and prevent assistance for when they'd invade the Minecraftian home world. The main attack forces separate from the mechanization force that were terraforming the world began attacking any troops that escaped the barracks and resisted the Vex invasion. If they were successful, the next target would be Minecraftian industrial worlds to cripple their economy and ability to wage war as well.

On board the ships Vex sent Minotaurs to seek out and kill Endermen. It was clear projectiles wouldn't work, but a punch from a Minotaur would do. Their melee strikes had much, much more force than a player swinging a sword would and was covered in an extremely dense metal shell. These factors and the fact Endermen could die fairly easily to players armed with swords would hopefully assist in taking down the Enderman threat. After crippling the engine rooms Vex moved onto any gun platforms to cripple their ability to orbitally bombard their other invading forces. If they could fell this elite fleet, they'd have a great advantage.

With a fleet from the UPM assisting them, there was no time for formalities. No time for official alliances or anything. The Guardians had been fighting the Vex non-stop for about 74 hours now. Any held was taken. The aid against the Vex troops began to push the Guardian's very negligible lead into something that was quite noticeable. The Vex's weakest stronghold, the Moon, was taken. On all the other planets fighting raged on viciously. But Guardians were making progress in Old Russia with Minecraftian aid.

The Vex began to shift their focus from ruining their economy to destroying civilian infrastructure to ruin the Minecraftian will for war. If offered a chance to surrender and it was refused, then billions of civilians die, a revolution against the current leaders is bound to take place. On the home world of the UPM, billions of yellow oracles lit up the sky and broadcasted a message for all the inhabitants. "Your ships have fallen. Your planets are now machines under Vex control. Darkness rules what once were your lands. Your home world is next. Join us, surrender, and we will kill no more. We will bring you under the domain of Darkness. But with no more violence against you, would you be willing to give in? The Darkness consumes al. And you can end this with extinction or assimilation. Your choice," with that, the Heart did something she rarely did. She pulled her troops out so that they may possibly end the war. She'd get what she wanted either way. And if they refused they'd just return with full force. But for now, all Vex troops in UPM dimensions teleported away to let them ponder on the offer.

Now even with UPM assistance the Guardians actually didn't take much land. The Vex retaliation was very strong and they were dug in deep. But the fight on Venus and Mercury was the most difficult. The Vex had completely terra formed those planets so the Heart had complete control on the geography. If the Guardians took any high ground well, they could literally lower the ground. Massive walls of Vex consciousness blocked anyone from pushing up and taking more ground. It was bad.

The Vex now took their opportunity with the Elite fleets away from home. Extremely large Vex forces teleported onto the capital ships that were a part of the elite fleet and pounded their FTL drives with everything they had. Destroying their engines was one thing, but if they did this not even the failsafe could save them. After that, they pushed onto the reactor cores of the ship and began to destroy ventilation systems. They wanted to overload all the ships and cause massive detonations over Earth, possibly destroying the Earth's mantle in this region. This meant that the ships would have to move away or risk injuring their allied forces. Not only would that take them out of the fight but they couldn't head back home for repairs with constant Vex attacks on the warp drives.

The ground warfare on Earth was harsh. Vex were being pushed back, but Cyclopses behind them fired powerful payloads at the Shadow Knights and the ground forces. These massive cannons were meant to take down star ships threatening them, so some Shadow Knights shouldn't be too hard to deal with. If the ground forces the Cyclopses shot at avoided the projectile itself, the extremely lethal radiation it spread around the area of impact would kill them within the day. Shadow Souls were practically useless. When they possessed a Vex body the Heart easily disabled it and replaced it. Whether or not the Shadow Souls could keep the technology online wasn't the question, but the fact that all Vex were infused with darkness allowed the Heart to remotely disable them.

Now the campaign on Minecraftia itself was at hand. The military bases around the planet were the first targets. Vex flooded in. Hobgoblins picked off distant enemies with their Line Rifles. Goblins were the main foot soldiers and poured constant fire upon civilians and soldiers. Minotaurs bashed Endermen into the ground and fired their Torch Hammers. Hydras rapidly fired their Torch Hammers to take down enemy heavy armor and used their shields to negate damage coming back at them. Fanatics destroyed defensive batteries and densely populated areas of the military bases. Harpies invaded civilian territory and ravaged the population. Cyclopses were teleported in and began firing at the star ships in orbit. But the ground warfare was all just one part. If they wanted to succeed, they'd need to destroy the enemy ships that rained fire down on their own land. Fanatics teleported on and constantly blew up near all the orbital cannons. The Cyclopses from below also aided in the assault on the fleets. This was the way the peace the UPM had maintained would end.

vex attack Minecraftia and the UPM and are at war with them, along with the Guardians. UPM are helping Guardians fight the Vex as Vex are trying to take over the Guardian's home system. The Vex and UPM are both using the full extent of their military assets to fight each other.

The UPM's plan would've been a worthwhile sacrifice. Would've. The Vex were machines. And the Heart could create anything in the Black Garden. So with the UPM in a state of mourning, the Bex simply returned with full force. Vex flooded the planet, but did not attack. The Heart decided to offer them one more chance. "People of the UPM. Your leader is dead and only died in vain. We offer assimilation one last time before we conquer this world. Choose wisely. Oblivion or annexation,"

The Heart was a very impatient being. So their proposition wasn't one they'd agree with. All the Vex machines began opening fire upon the Gods of the realm and civilians alike. The heavier, Torch Hammer attacks were directed towards the Gods. Meanwhile only Goblins, Harpies, and Hobgoblins were really needed to eradicate civilian and police forces, along with any remaining military presence. If there were any, after all.

Meanwhile in the Earth's solar system things weren't going so well for either the Vex or Guardians. While the Guardians now had the Moon and Earth back, Venus and Mercury was lost to them. And orbital bombardment from Rasputin's WMD array wouldn't be allowed to be used due to all the Golden Age information hidden among those worlds. They'd just have to fight tooth and nail for them now. Though Earth and the Moon weren't abandoned. In fact, heavier fortifications were being constructed on them to assist in the fight against the Vex.
