"Wait!" Shikon turned and ran after him, reaching the cave at the same time as Jace. "It's not what it looks like...I swear." She said, snapping her fingers to draw Buster off guard duty. The dog went to stand next to Shikon, blood dripping from his jaws. He licked the blood off of his lips, his eyes switching between Shikon, Jace, and Amalia.

"Really? Then you've got a hell of a lot of explaining to do, because to me, it looks like torture." Jace said coolly, staring at the girl.
-
Shikon looked down at Buster. "I kidnapped her to get a message through to the Slayers." She said, scowling and looking away. "Buster only attacked her because she tried to escape."
Amalia shrunk back in fear. Two vampires, and a giant dog who likes the taste of human flesh. She was going to die, she just knew it. -
Jace turned to look at Shikon, his gaze icy. "You're only provoking them," he said evenly. "They'll recruit more, get more weapons, enforce training--whatever they can do." He looked at Amalia, his gaze softening some. "Let her go. She gets the picture. Maybe she'll warn her little friends not to mess with you." He added dryly.
-
Shikon scowled even more. "Fine." She said, turning to the frightened girl. "Buster will show you out." Buster growled, but turned and started out of the cavern at a brisk pace.
Amalia followed, slowly and timidly, but then quickly as she made it past the vampires.
Shikon glared at Jace, and turned, exiting the cavern and heading back out to the main cave. "Softy." She muttered, setting the bloodied dagger on the shelf next to the clean one. -
Jace gave Shikon a distrustful look and followed Buster, brushing past Shikon. There was no way he would let this dog lead Amalia out--he wouldn't put it past Shikon to have him tear her to shreds once out of earshot of Jace.
-
Buster growled as he realized Jace was following him. He lead Amalia out of the cave and to the edge of the forest, where he stopped, growling at her.
Amalia wasted no time, running off, away from the vampires and the dog.
Shikon rolled her eyes, fidgeting with a lock on a wooden cabinet. -
Jace watched the girl leave, glancing momentarily at Buster, before making his way back. He stood at the mouth of the cave, leaning back and folding his arms across his chest.
-
Shikon glanced up at Jace, but remained focused mostly on the lock, which refused to unlock, even when she had the key in. She growled, and swore under her breath as she stood up, and turned to Jace. "Didn't you want to ask me something?" She asked, considering giving the cabinet a strong kick if that's what would open it.
Buster followed Jace back to the cave, growling at him the whole way. Once he was back, he went and sat down next to Shikon. -
"What were you going to do to her, that girl?" Jace asked, his tone even. His eyes bore into Shikon, not giving away any of his emotions.
-
"Starve her half to death and then send her back." Shikon muttered, heading into one of the tunnels that lead out of the main cave. Buster followed, as usual.
-
Jace narrowed his eyes but didn't follow her, simply remained at the mouth of the cave. After a moment he turned and headed back into the forest.
-
"Buster, guard the cave entrance." Shikon growled, and Buster ran to the mouth of the cave, sitting down and scanning the forest.
Shikon sighed as she entered a large cavern with nothing but a red bed in the center, and Shikon lay down on it. "I'm such an idiot." She muttered, staring up at the ceiling. "Jace probably thinks I'm one of those vampires that goes around killing people just for the heck of it." -
Jace walked slowly through the forest, his eyes trained on the path ahead. He didn't know how to feel about what had just happened. Seeing the girl trapped down there, hearing what Shikon was planning to do--it reminded him of his father's many tests. Images of his tortured victims flashed before his eyes and he shuddered. He'd hated his father for that; he didn't want to feel the same way about Shikon.
-
((Hey uhh what's the capital of Argentina? XD))
Shikon rolled onto her side, and pulled the blood-red comforter over her head. "I'm such an idiot..." She muttered once more, before falling asleep. -
((Uhh....Wuht xD))
Jace sighed and pulled himself up onto the branch of a tree, sitting on it and leaning back against the tree and closing his eyes. He had to think this through; he couldn't go through this again, loving someone just to find out their evil ways. He had to think this through.
-
((XD uhhh should I timeskip? Shikon went to sleep already...or you could. I don't really care))
Buster lay down at the mouth of the cave, and yawned. His eyelids drooped, and he soon fell asleep. -
((You do it x3 I'll be back in a little while))
-
(('kay))
As the sun set below the horizon, Buster yawned, and got to his paws. He trotted down the tunnel that lead to Shikon's bedroom, and jumped onto the bed. He nuzzled her gently, and she ignored him, and rolled over. Buster then nuzzled her sharply, pushing her off the bed entirely, and looked down at her like 'Now who's laughing?'.
Shikon narrowed her eyes on the dog. "Stupid Bartholomew." She muttered, using Buster's full name. She stood up and stretched, walking out into the main cave with Buster at her heels. -
Jace blinked his eyes open just in time to see the last rays of sun dip below the horizon. He pushed himself up into a sitting position, his hair, which had somehow managed to remained perfect after he'd slept for hours in a tree, falling over his eyes. He brushed a stray lock aside and leaped from the tree, landing with a soft thud. He thought for a second, wondering how he'd ended up here in the forest, then remembered with a pang the week's events, including what had happened with Shikon.
