  • "Two things," Shikon said, smirking. "One, I am incapable of taking you seriously with that accent, and two, I am probably much older than you are, despite how I look." She paused, thinking. "And out of the two of us, I'm probably the better fighter, so, if I were you, I would get out of this cave pretty quick." She stepped to the side, gesturing towards the door, which was shut at the moment, blocking out the sunlight that would have burned Shikon if it caught her.

  • "You leetle brat!" The woman barked angrily, pulling a tiny, concealed pistol out of her pocket and holding it out, aimed straight at Shikon's chest. "Do you really zink zat you can win againzt me? You are nozhing. Now leave, before I zend you ztraight into ze depths of Hell!" She was practically shaking with rage, her eyes reflecting that of someone on the brink of insanity.

  • [[I'm too lazy to use my template xD]]
Despite her intentions to stay calm, Shikon froze at the sight of the gun. Most people thought that only a stake through the heart would kill a vampire, but they were wrong. Just about anything that was strong enough or moving fast enough to pierce her heart could easily kill her. Guns included. However, despite her fear--which was showing clearly in her eyes--she almost laughed at the woman's threat to send her to Hell. She was pretty sure she had been there and back already. However, she hid her laughter and kept her lips in a calm smirk. "If you give me one--just one--good reason why I should let you take him, then I'll consider it." She lied, her brain working frantically to develop a plan. She couldn't run out of the cave--she'd be roasted to death--and she couldn't go towards the woman, because, in her experience, humans will shoot at something even if they can't see it.

  • The woman's lips twitched upwards into a grin when she noticed the obvious change in Shikon's demeanor, and she slowly crept forward towards her, the gun shaking in her hand. At the girl's next words, however, she froze, narrowing her eyes. "One reazon? I can give you five hundred. For one, he keeled three of our country'z mozt renowned scientists." She wasn't sure whether to trust this girl or not--no, she didn't trust her at all. But she might as well hear her out.

  • "What?" Shikon looked puzzled. "Why?" She didn't know whether to assume that the woman was lying or telling the truth. She could have just hated Sebastian for personal reasons that she didn't want to share, and, instead, was making up ridiculous stories about him, but Shikon knew that she could very well be telling the truth. But this baffled her; why on earth would Sebastian do such a thing? It didn't seem like something he would do. But, then again, Shikon thought, she really had just met the guy. She didn't know much about him at all, so she decided to keep her opinions neutral for the moment.

  • "Zat doezn't matter," the woman growled, stepping closer, tightening her grip on the handle of the pistol. "I told you vat you vanted to know, now leave!" She seemed to be having a bit of trouble speaking at this point, her eyes growing heavy; however, she shook it off. Nothing was getting in her way, not now.

  • Shikon hesitated before she spoke again, resisting the instinct to back away from the woman holding a gun. "Okay, that's a problem." She paused, thinking. "I can't leave."

  • "Vell, you vill!" The woman barked, taking another step closer. There was a click as she cocked the pistol, her eyes flashing. "I don't care vat your excuze eez. You...You..," she blinked, swaying dangerously on her feet. Her speech grew somewhat slurred, and she stared at Shikon through half-lidded eyes. "You're not...Zebaztion...He eez ourz...," she stumbled forward a few steps, then collapsed onto the ground in front of the girl, blood trickling from two small puncture wounds in her neck. Jace stood behind her, his expression blank, golden hair radiating like sunshine. He dragged one sleeve across his mouth, wiping off the excess blood, though both incisors, needle-thin yet razor sharp, gleamed brightly, both tipped with blood. He was silent, gazing down at the woman as if he wasn't sure what had just happened.

    [okai, just a question
because of all of the Jaces I made, I forgot if this one was a vampire or not xD
I think that this one was the one who had been partially turned but the process had been interrupted or something so that he was able to hide it
    but idunremember]

  • [[You forgot your own character. xD hum...he's the vampire who Sebastian said drank his own blood and who can walk in sunlight and has only ever drank blood once twice, and he has a witchlight and stuffs...As far as I know...but I really don't know much more than Shikon does xD]]
"Jace, you're awake," Shikon's eyes were wide. "I...Uh, thanks...I guess." She forced a smile, though her thoughts were still clouded. Her gaze flickered from Jace to Sebastian and back again, not sure what else to say.

  • [Oh xD Just making sure]

Jace said nothing; he looked up, meeting Shikon's gaze. He looked emotionless, his face blank; however, the look in his eyes reflected those of someone who was only barely keeping themselves from committing mass murder--pure, blind white rage. "Anytime," he said coolly, his voice hard. "It's always nice to know someone appreciates it when you ruin your life for theirs. No matter how little their life is worth."

  • "What?" Shikon looked genuinely puzzled. He had never used such a cold tone with her, and she didn't like it. "What are you talking about?"
[[-headdesk- Sorry, for some reason BTR is playing, and it's draining my Shikon muse xD]]

  • Jace only turned away from her, golden hair swishing as he did so. "I'm leaving. You can take care of this. And you might want to get Sebastian to a hospital, before he bleeds to death. Then you'd have no one. And wouldn't that be unfortunate," he said, his tone just as cold as it had been before, as he walked towards the entrance of the cave.

  • Shikon's eyes simply followed him for a moment. Was this about Sebastian? She blinked, pondering it. Did Jace really have a right to be mad about that?
Shikon mentally face-palmed. Of course he did. He had been her boyfriend, and then all of a sudden she started going out with some other guy. If it were her, she would've been pissed off, too. What had she been thinking, suddenly dropping Jace for Sebastian, who turned out to be a murderer?
Maybe that's what had drawn her to him--besides his eyes. Maybe some part of her wanted someone other than a goody-two-shoes who didn't like killing.
She shook the thoughts from her head, making a grab for Jace's arm. "If this is about Sebastian, I'm sorry." She said, her tone bordering on a plead.

  • Jace froze in his tracks, tensing noticeably at Shikon's touch. He snatched his arm away from her, as if her hand had burned his skin. He turned to face her, the look in his eyes dangerously malicious; otherwise, he looked fairly calm. "Sebastian? This isn't about Sebastian at all," he said, his voice surprisingly soft; however, it was a scalding softness, equally as threatening as the look in his eyes. "This isn't about anything, because there's no reason to make it last."

  • "What...?" Shikon paused, brow furrowed. "What are you talking about?" This wasn't like him, and Shikon knew it. Why was he acting like this? Had she done something else, something she may not have noticed at the time? She sifted through every memory, every second that she had spent with Jace. She came up with nothing. Why was he acting like this? She had never seen him like this, and it scared her. She would never have admitted it, but the look in Jace's eyes, his behavior, and even more so, his words, sent fear spiraling through her, all the way to her core.

  • "Sebastian may have had something to do with it, but this isn't about him. He was just dragged into it," Jace said through clenched teeth. "This is about you. And me. But since there's no more you and me, there's nothing to talk about." He turned away once more, but not before adding, "I always promised myself never to love anyone again, and I was stupid for breaking that promise to myself."

  • Shikon stepped in front of him, blocking his path. "Okay, so, if you all of a sudden hate me, why'd you bring these people here?" She asked, gesturing to the dead woman on the floor.

  • "Because I hate you," Jace said simply, shrugging as if it were obvious.

  • "Okay, next question." Shikon said slowly, thinking each word through very carefully. "Why do you hate me?"

  • "Why?" Jace frowned, staring at her. He could think of a million reasons to hate her, yet he couldn't bring himself to actually do so. He finally sighed, his hands clenching into fists. "I...I don't know. I just do--I mean, I want to hate you. But I can't."
