  • "Wow, this place is so much bigger then our den.." Jay said, looking around. A small mouse scampered past his paws, but he didn't notice it.

"Of course it is, it was built by humans. Or.. twolegs, as some clan cats call them." Willow replied, smiling at the young tom. "I'm going to go find somewhere to sleep."

  • "Yes, humans did build it. Not sure why they just left it here though," Kit meowed and shrugged.

She already had her own nest made from bird feathers and hay in the far corner of the barn where the moonlight or sunlight didn't reach. There was also a smile pile of herbs stored by there. General herbs like dock and feverfew. A mouse was sitting by a small pile of loose hay and Kit instantly focused on it. She nudged Jay softly.

"See that mouse, there?" she whispered to the young tom, gesturing to the mouse, "Do you think you could catch it?"

  • Jay looked up at Kit and nodded. He stalked toward the mouse as quiet as he could be, but just as he was about to catch it, a loud creak of the wooden floor of the barn scared it away. He looked toward where it was now, but figured that would happen again if he kept trying to go after it.

Willow was already assembling a nest of hay in another corner, not paying attention to the two other cats.

  • Kit looked down at Jay, almost sorry that the young tom didn't make the catch.

"Can I show you a trick?" she asked the young tom, glancing over at Willow briefly.

  • "Sure!" He said back. "I've been trying to get better at hunting anyway."

Willow looked over at the two for a moment, and then went back to fixing the nest.

  • Kit, pleased with the young tom's answer, nodded at him. Without saying a word she walked over to one of the old stables and climbed her way up to the top of it on the edge. She looked down at Jay.

"From here, you can ambush the mice without scaring them off," she meowed and with expert balance made her way along the top of the stable. She narrowed her eyes and spotted a small movement under some hay. "Now watch carefully."

She crouched down on the stable and pinpointed the prey's location. She unsheathed her claws and waited. Then, she jumped down from the top of the stable onto the small pile of hay. A small squeak from the mouse was abruptly cut off as Kit broke its spine easily. She picked up the mouse in her jaws and padded back over to Jay and dropped the mouse at his feet.

    "Nothing to it," she mewed.

  • "That's cool," He said. "I would have never been able to do something like that back at my den.."

He looked over toward the stables, and as he did, he spotted another mouse scurrying through the hay. He padded over toward the stabled and leapt ontop of one, trying his hardest not to fall off. He managed to stay on long enough to spot the mouse again, and when he did, he unsheathed his claws, just as Kit had done. He crouched awkwardly on the stable, but then leapt toward the mouse, catching it. He brought the mouse back over to where Kit was, proud of his catch, even if it was small.

  • Kit beamed proudly at Jay.

"Great catch, Jay! With that trick you'll be able to ambush birds, squirrels, and even rabbits," Kit meowed then stretched. She pawed the mouse that she caught over to Jay. "Why don't you take this over to Willow? I'm sure both of you are hungry."

Kit stretched again and licked her paw and dragged it over her ear. She let out a soft yawn and padded over to her nest where she curled up and watched Jay and Willow with sleepy eyes.

  • Jay smiled and ran over to where Willow was with the mouse. She was laying down, curled up in the newly made hay nest. He gently pawed at her, and she slowly opened her eyes.

    "What is it?"

"I caught this mouse! Kit taught me a new way to catch prey in here!" He said.

    "Oh. That's nice," she replied.

"Here, have some." Jay set the mouse down and they began to eat.

  • Kit purred, content. They really did act like a mother and her kit. Maybe Jay was Willow's kit after all. She would have to ask in the morning. Kit curled into her nest in a tight ball, her tail tickling her nose as she closed her eyes and tried to sleep.

  • After the two finished eating, Jay curled up next to Willow, hoping to fall asleep fast. He was really tired now, from everything he had done today.

  • Occ: No worries

    Ic:
Kit woke the next morning, stretching. Jay and Willow were still sleeping, so Kit took this opportunity to hunt. She quickly caught a mouse, the thing had basically ran straight into her waiting claws. Kit crouched down in a sunny spot and began eating, keeping her eyes on Jay and Willow.

  • Jay slowly opened his eyes, looking around. Sunlight was streaming through the holes in the wall and roof of the barn, which was what had woken him up. He glanced over, seeing Kit eating some prey.

  • LUCIDSINS
    "Your wildest desires come true."

    OOC:

IC: They had followed the scent of prey, then hurried along further scenting feline scent as well, only to find the feline's had caught it already. Luckilyfor them, a mouse was stupid enough to run out in front of them in a panic and they dispatched it quickly with a snap of their jaws, swallowing it hole.

  • Jay thought he heard the sound of another animal outside the barn, but it wasn't a cat. He knew the scent of cats, and that wasn't one for sure. He slowly got up, walking towards a hole in the wall of the barn to look out and see if anyone was there. Sure enough, there was another.. animal outside. They were not right near the barn, but Jay could just barely see them from where he was. Again, that definitely was not a cat.

Jay kind of wanted to go over and see what they were doing here, but stayed away from doing that for now. He walked back into the barn to go tell Willow what he just saw.

  • LUCIDSINS
    "Your wildest desires come true."

    OOC:

IC: Lucid padded towards the barn slowly, the feline scent was growing stronger. They concluded that the cats were inside the tall structure. Instead of walking in uninvited, they sat down a few steps from the door, curling their tail neatly around their paws, with a light grin on their face.

  • ((Just saying, unless CrimsonFlame replies, I'm just gonna pretend her character isn't here anymore because she hasn't replied in a while))

Willow raised her head. She had still been sleeping, but saw Jay - and heard something strange. A loud creak, like the floorboards or the wall of the barn, could be heard. She also smelled a weird scent - it wasn't cat, prey, human, or anything she could recognize.

"Do you-" Willow was cut off by Jay, who began to speak.

"Yeah, that's what I came to tell you!" Jay exclaimed. "There's another animal out there - but it's definitely not a cat!"

"Huh. I wonder what it could be." She replied. "Let's go see."

Willow got up, slowly padding toward the entrance to the barn, only to see the animal Jay was talking about outside. It wasn't a cat, but not a fox or any other animal that could be found in the woods. It looked almost like a dog of some sort, but with a cat-like tail. She had no idea what it was.

  • Ooc:
Sorry for not replying. I had some personal things going on

    Ic:
Kit got up from where her half eaten mouse still sat and saw that Willow and Jay were investigating something outside of the barn. Curious, Kit decided to join them. They must have caught that strange scent in the air. A strange animal that Kit had never smelled before. She padded over to Willow and Jay and saw the strange creature through the hole in the barn. Kit's fur bristled slightly at the sight of the creature. It made her uneasy.

"What is that?" Kit hissed to Willow and Jay, gesturing to the creature sitting outside the barn.
