    		WELCOME to SedgeClan, a strictly traditional fanclan. Many moons ago, a group of cats formed together from the remains of another and created a refuge along a lakeside. For many generations, SedgeClan has made the lakefront its home, and clashed with its neighbor, DawnClan. Traditions and their histories are intertwined, tangled like vines and interwoven oak branches. Welcome to the forest.




    TERRITORY SedgeClan settled on the lakeside, where the pine trees grew in tightly woven groves. Meadows are few and far between so the clan has adapted to forest hunting and fishing along the banks of the lake. The camp is situated on a knoll in one of the few meadows. The knoll has a rock pile, stretching down both sides and creating many large dens back up into the earth. On top the pile stands a lone pine tree, grasping at the ground with gnarled roots. Up there is where the leader stands when calling meetings. Outside the territory is a waterfall, underneath is where cats go to seek StarClan's guidance.




    TRADITIONS StarClan is a major focus in SedgeClan, and the Warrior Code is honored before all else. The clan's reputation for ferocity in battle is to always be backed up with tooth and claw. All newly promoted warriors are mandated two nights of vigil, one to hunt for the clan and one spent watching camp. One every half moon, the SedgeClan Medicine Cat meets with StarClan. Then, once the moon is full, SedgeClan and DawnClan meet for a gathering.

      [li]Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.[/li]
      [li]Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory.[/li]



      [li]Elders, queens, and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders. If any warrior or apprentice is sick or injured, they may eat while the elders, queens, and kits are eating.[/li]
      [li]Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.[/li]



      [li]A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.[/li]
      [li]A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.[/li]



      [li]The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies, retires or is exiled.[/li]
      [li]After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.[/li]



      [li]A Gathering of both Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time.[/li]
      [li]Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.[/li]



      [li]No warrior can neglect a kit in pain or danger, even if the kit is from a different Clan.[/li]
      [li]The word of the Clan Leader is the warrior code.[/li]



      [li]An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his/her battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or if it is necessary for self-defense.[/li]
      [li]A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.[/li]

      [li]High positions must remain active and will be demoted if activity is not shown.[/li]



      [li]SedgeClan is strictly traditional, that means only domestic felines can join.[/li]
      [li]That also means that only traditional names can be used. Here is a list of appropriate prefixes and here are some good suffixes.[/li]
