The air was humid but not hot, in fact it was rather cool; one of the reasons why Marshall enjoyed the early morning so much. It was early enough that not many people were awake, just the way the canine liked it. Stepping out of his cabin, he stretched his limbs lightly before heading out of camp and down the mountainside. The border collie found himself quickly engulfed within the lush forest. The forest was not only a good place to hunt, but it was a nice place to take walks without the worry of running into someone he knew. He didn't really like conversing early in the morning.

After awhile of walking, Marshall happened to come upon a stream in the thick fog. He sat down upon the bank and quietly lapped up the cool liquid. Feeling refreshed, a small smile appeared on his usually expressionless maw. Too bad life isn't this peaceful all the time. he thought to himself.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; line-height: 14px; width: 400px; text-align: justify; font-family: ; font-size: 10pt; color:#;]Claudia wasn't exactly a morning person, per say, preferring awaking to the sun filtering into her eyes at noon than watching the sun itself rise. But today was different - it was the morning after a full moon, and the young werewolf hadn't even been sleeping in her cabin. No, after becoming a feral beast the previous night, Claud had simply collapsed in a messy snarl of tree roots, too exhausted to drag herself to camp and too afraid that she would turn again and kill someone.

So, the girl had slept in the forest, and instead of sleeping in and waking at noon, she was roused from her sleep by a familiar scent curling around her nostrils accompanied by the sound of pawsteps. Claud groaned softly to herself, slipping out of the tree roots with leaf mulch clinging to her multi-colored pelt. A headache pounded at her skull, and exhaustion made her want to slink back under the tree and rest until nighttime. But she'd already documented the scent, and it was of a creature that made her wolf instantly become suspicious. It wasn't that Claudia didn't like Marshall, no, but her wolf was a bit salty towards the canine. He'd blatantly ignored her question of where he'd obtained the skull - that itself was enough to warrant suspicion in Claud, and the fact that her wolf didn't like him was just another reason to be wary.

She considered slinking back into the tree, but her wolf wouldn't allow anything but confronting the other. Claudia let out another moan, approaching the masked canine by a babbling brook. "Hey, Marshall."

Marshall's insides almost flew out of his body at the sudden appearance of Claudia, but on the outside he sat still, not blinking an eye. The small smile and serene look had disappeared the instant she announced herself and the tip of his ear twitched in slight annoyance, yet he silently convinced himself that he would not let her appearance ruin the moment. Closing his bright luminaries, he took an inaudible breath inward, and released it slowly as if to re-kindle his peacefulness. Finally, he opened his eyes and they drifted lazily towards the feline.

"Hello." he replied smoothly, looking into her yellow eyes. A wise fellow once told him, the eyes were the window to the soul. Unfortunately, Claudia must have had the shades drawn today because he couldn't gather much information from them. A wise fellow also told him that people lie, but auras never lie. And gathering from her aura, she was quite uneasy around him. How odd. He wasn't that scary was he? Dismissing the unimportant thought from his head, he rose and started to move across the small crik and away from Claudia. He half-hoped that she wouldn't follow, but if she did decide to, he wouldn't be surprised.
