SpringClan is a fairly new Clan, and therefore doesn't have very much of a history. It was created by the current leader, Springstar, and Tigergaze. Springstar used to be a kitty pet named Flower, and she had always heard of Clans from her mother, and of course she was curious. When a new cat, Tigerpaw, arrived next door claiming to be from a Clan, no doubt Flower was intrigued. They became close friends, and Tigerpaw told her all about living in a Clan. After a while, they decided to run away and go into the wild. Flower had bold dreams of creating her own Clan, while Tigerpaw was faced with a choice; stay with her and help her, or go back to his own Clan. He decided to follow Flower, and they found a beautiful territory. As it was spring, and the flowers were all in bloom, Flower insisted on calling it SpringClan, and so a new Clan began. Traditions & Beliefs... SpringClan hasn't yet developed very many of its own unique traditions, and is largely based on Tigerpaw's (now Tigergaze) old Clan, which was a very traditional Clan. The only thing that the two cats changed when they created the Clan was the higher rankings; while there is usually only one leader, deputy, etc., they changed each of those ranks to allow two cats, for extra control and safety. Like most traditional Clans, SpringClan believes in StarClan, and the medicine cats and their apprentices will travel to the Moon Hollow each moon, which lies beyond the north border. The camp is a small clearing in the trees, surrounded by tall laurel bushes and foliage so that it is concealed from unwanted visitors. The camp entrance is a small tunnel through one of the laurel bushes, where branches have been cleared to make a path through. The ground inside is covered in soft grass that never seems to die, as it's always very vibrant and green. Directly across from the entrance is the leader's den, which is in the base of a large tree that towers over the rest of the trees. Its massive trunk is hollow, creating a perfect den. During Clan meetings, the leader will jump onto one of the many low-hanging branches of the tree and speak from there. These branches are also ideal for training apprentices to climb. To the right of the leader's den is another laurel bush, hollowed out for the elders to sleep in. Next is the medicine den, a small stone cave. There is another opening in the back of the cave that leads out through the walls of the camp, and directly outside this entrance is a river. The second entrance to the medicine den gives the medicine cat and their apprentice easy access to water. The next den is the warriors' den, which is a large bramble thicket. It's located right next to the entrance so that they can quickly defend the camp if needed. On the other side of the entrance, there is the apprentices' den. It's a fallen, hollowed out tree. One will notice that there are countless claw marks on the outside, and this is because it's where many cats sharpen their claws. Finally, the nursery is a very large bush, made roomy on the inside so that queens and their kits are never cramped. The inside, like all the dens, is lined with fresh moss and other soft plants. Outside the camp, there aren't very many special places in the territory, other than the river. There's also a meadow on the edge of the territory that they simple call the Meadow, where New Season takes place. Beyond the north border lies the Moon Hollow, which is where the medicine cats go to speak with StarClan; it's a shallow cave with multiple holes in the ceiling, and when the moonlight hits it a certain way, the walls shine brightly. Common prey in the territory includes mice, voles, shrews, squirrels, and different types of birds. On occasion, a cat will find a rabbit in the meadow, or catch a fish in the river. The weather stays mostly the same year round; winters are very mild, and it rarely gets too hot in the summer.[/fancypost][/fancypost][/fancypost] |
