Muse A and Muse B have been happily married for two years now. They’re both financially stable and still madly in love with each other, despite encountering some of the typical bumps in the marital road. It seems like the perfect time to start a family, both Muse A and Muse B agree. They’re ready to share some of their love with a little bundle of joy. Unfortunately, it’s not as easy as they’d hoped. Despite several spirited attempts at having a baby together, Muse A struggles to conceive. According to doctors, Muse A may never be able to have kids by natural means, but it’s too early to say conclusively. Rather than becoming disheartened, the loving couple decide to look into adoption. They fall in love with a sweet infant who’d been born to a teen mother, and they instantly know that this baby is meant to go home with them. Maybe some day in the future they’ll be able to conceive, but either way, they’ll love this adopted child as if he/she were their own flesh and blood.

On a follow-up visit to the doctor, routine blood work reveals that Muse A is now pregnant. The couple is thrilled! Even though it’s early, they immerse themselves in preparing for the baby’s arrival. When it comes time for Muse A to have their first sonogram. Muse B is of course as their side and so excited to catch a glimpse of their baby, their eyes glued to the monitor. The sonogram tech takes a deep breath before relaying what they’ve uncovered. Muse A and Muse B are about to become the proud parents of triplets.

While waiting for dessert, Muse A finally speaks up and says they have news to share. But so does Muse B, at the same time. Each insists that the other say what they have to say first and they ultimately rely on the flip of a coin to decide who spills first. Muse A is one month pregnant. Muse B is leaving (for someone else or for a job assignment thousands of miles away).
Who will lose the coin flip and have tell their secret first? Will the other person decide to keep their secret (or change plans) after learning what their lover has been hiding? Will the sharing of the secrets make or break the relationship?

While driving along on a quiet detour road, Muse A's car starts spewing smoke from beneath the hood. Thankfully, it’s still midday and when Muse A pokes their head out through the lowered window they’re able to make it to the closest motel before the car breaks down. Muse A has to use the phone in the motel’s main office to call a tow truck because their cell phone isn’t getting signal way out here. While speaking with the tow company, Muse A realizes that the motel owner seems a little off. He’s creepily quiet and eyeing them a little too hard for their taste. Finding out that the tow truck won’t come until the next morning, Muse A decides to check into the motel. What else can they do?

As Muse A heads outside to get their bag from the trunk, Muse B follows and offers help. Muse B is related to the motel owner and works there in several capacities; housekeeping and grounds-keeping mainly. Muse A permits Muse B to carry their bag to the room, but is startled when Muse B blocks them from going inside once they get there. Muse B warns Muse A not to stick around at the motel once the sun goes down but doesn’t say why before rushing off. Muse A gets a weird vibe which only grows weirder as Muse A goes in search of the vending machines for a snack and encounters another guest at the motel. The guest has the same zoned out, pale look that the motel owner had and two odd-looking marks on their neck that peek out from the collar of their shirt. Muse A doesn’t encounter too many other guests on the way back to their room, though the parking lot is occupied by a few other cars. Muse A does their best to shirk off Muse B's warning, but makes sure to bolt the door as the sun disappears from view.

Unable to sleep, Muse A begins to hear strange noises in the room connected to theirs. At first it sounds like there’s a struggle between two people, then it’s suddenly quiet and there’s a knock at their door. Muse A pretends to be asleep, ignoring the knock, but to their horror someone starts working the lock and somehow pushes the bolt out of place from the other side of the door. The last thing Muse A remembers before waking up the next morning is the face of Muse C, the tall mysterious figure with long, sharp teeth who broke into their room..and the dark, fresh blood that was dripping down from Muse C’s mouth.

Muse A finds tender, red marks on their neck like they saw on the other motel guest but they can’t put two and two together. They’ve forgotten about the tow truck that was supposed to come for them and for some reason they want to stay another night at the motel. Muse C must’ve been some crazy, vivid dream and maybe the marks are mosquito bites, Muse A reasons. What Muse A doesn’t know is that the motel is inhabited by vampires who feed off the guests by night and compel them to forget. Having seen many guests come to the motel and never leave, Muse B is tired of letting innocent people be harmed, including their relative who owns the motel.
Will Muse B save Muse A from a horrible fate at the hands of Muse C and their kind?

Like many places it harbors a few local urban legends and scary stories passed on over weekend bonfires and at summer camps The most well known here is the story of the ‘Pigman.’ The Pigman was a farmer who lived on the rural outskirts of town. He was a private man, so private in fact, that in order to keep the locals away from his property, the Pigman would place the heads of butchered swine on stakes near the end of his long, winding driveway to discourage any solicitors. Back in the 1950’s three troublemaking teenagers had trespassed onto the Pigman’s farm. The following night it wasn’t the heads of pigs that adorned the stakes, but the heads of the unwelcome interlopers, their decapitated corpses swinging from the road’s overpass. Now it’s almost considered a rite of passage to drive down Pigman Road at night. The especially brave will park the car and take a midnight walk underneath the bridge. With Halloween in the air, Muse A and Muse B decide to embark on this little adventure. The drive is fairly uneventful and although the backwoods setting is a little creepy for the suburb dwellers, Muse A wants to impress Muse B with their bravery, and talks them into going for a stroll.

Muse B's mind starts to imagine the worst, but Muse A assures them it is nothing. Muse A advances towards the sound, determined to prove that it’s all a case of Muse B's imagination running wild. Muse B stays with the car, too spooked to follow. The minutes tick on and Muse B becomes more and more worried about Muse A's absence. Finally Muse A comes running in a panic, shouting at Muse B to get in the car, but when they both jump in and lock the doors, the car refuses to start. They’re stranded on Pigman Road.
