The four month old kitsune pup sat under the shade of a tree on the hot summer day. It was pretty late in the day, so the temperature was gradually dropping already which meant less chance of over heating. She had happened upon a huge white paper and discarded tubes of paint in a trash can, along with a few paintbrushes though two were broken in half. Kali had dragged it under the tree earlier before going off to get a little water. She wondered why anyone would throw something like this away. It looked like something fun to do. Now Kalani, considering herelf the master of playing pretend, decided to play artist today. Problem was that she had no clue where to start off. She sat there thinking of what to doodle while watching a caterpillar slowly inch its way through the grass.

"hello, miss. i was just wondering... would you mind telling me where you found those supplies?" the australian shepherd cautiously inquired, hoping it came across in a nice way and ready to apologize if it didn't.

Kalani's attention was taken off the caterpillar for a few minutes when she heard someone coming. She saw the other pup apprroach, then noticed him staring at the stuff she had pulled out earlier. she stayed silent for a few moments, not sure what to expect from the aussie. she considered speaking up when at the same time he finally said something.
his greeting was polite, which was surprising since the tone of choice for most clanmattes was frustratiom over her puppiness.

she gave a big smile to steve as her fluffy tail began to wag. "Can you believe it? i found it all lyin' in an ol' trash bin! perfectly good stuff and some dummy wanted to get rid of it!" she paused, realizing they didnt know each other's names. her purple optics sparkled with curiosity and wonder as she said, "by the way, I'm Kalani Makana. Who're you?"

"Awesome! and no problem!" She scooched over a bit to make room and watched him as he organized the supplies. the messy pile suddenly became neat and everything was easy to find. She heard him ask what she'd been thinking about making, then work on it together. she blushed under her fur, remembering how earlier she'd only been staring at a silly caterpillar instead of thinking of what to draw.
"heh, I uh actually... couldnt think of anything," she admitted, then glanced up. "but um... sunset looks nice right? or whatever you want i mean, ive never drawn anything in my life. kinda why i was staring off into space before." she'd played the role of many things but a painter would be a first for the kitsune.

The kitsune's eyes brightened, happy that her suggestion ended up being a good one for once. "That sounds great!" Her way-too-fluffy obtained its wag again as she looked down at the pencils and brushes and paint. "So… how do we get started? With the colors or… sketching it out?
