  • Skylar eventually had stopped crying. She sat there with her eyes closed and her body shook. Her mind was racing on thoughts of Tomoe worrying about him. She heard footsteps and her body stiffened though still shook. Her eyes slowly opened but remained forward. She sucked in a breath and her eyes snapped over and landed on Tomoe, her eyes were wide as she looked up at him. "Tomoe?" She spoke as if he wasn't there. Sky quickly got up and rushed to him. Her body crashed against his as she wrapped her arms around his neck. She buried his face in his neck as she held him. "I'm fine. I'm fine. Are you ok?" She quickly asked and pulled away. Her hands moved to his arms as she looked over his body. She saw blood but knew it wasn't his. Sky looked up to meet his eyes, hers were worried. One hand gently came up to his cheek as she held his eyes. "What happened? Did she do anything to you?" She asked in a quiet voice. She hoped that he didn't change his mind about anything because of her.

  • Tomoe remained still as soon as Skylar had rushed over to him, though a faint smile crossed his face he did not say a word until Skylar had finished her questions in which made him pause. Though he looked away from Skylar for a few seconds, the memories of what had happened was still quite fresh in his mind... Skylar didn't need to know what he'd done. "I'm fine Skylar. She... she didn't do anything to me." He smiled slightly though the smile had tension behind it, obviously further questions were not welcomed judging by it, "We should continue moving, if they had sent Ayami after us then they're getting fairly serious on tracking us down." Obviously, Ayami seemed to have had a high position than Tomoe with the Zashi, though she was far from the boss. So, he'd rather not take his chances in encountering more Zashi if he could help it.

  • Skylar frowned seeing the tense smile but pushed it aside for now. She nodded her head and relaxed but only slightly. She sighed and looked over him once more before meeting his eyes. "Are you sure you are ok?" She asked softly. Her hand moved from his cheek and the one on his arm moved down to grab his hand. She squeezed it gently before pulling away. She grabbed the back pack and slipped it in before returning to Tomoe. Sky was still worried about him and knew that it wouldn't go away until she was positive. She looked over him to make sure that no one had followed him before looking back to him. "Let's go now if we need to go." She finally spoke again. She seemed distant as she turned and began to walk away. She didn't know what had come over her to make her suddenly so distant. Her eyes seemed to have no feeling in them and her face now was blank.

  • Tomoe's expression eased slightly though he nodded at her question, though he looked over his shoulder back towards the town itself. Though he was still very much missing the thrill he had felt, he knew he shouldn't be thinking about such things it wouldn't be right of him to. However as he turned his head towards Skylar, he spotted the expression on her face which made his eyebrows furrow but he did not ask any questions, finding the expression looking all too similar when they had left the village he didn't want to pry for answers especially considering his mind had yet to clear from bloody haze it was in. He silently followed after her, though deciding to expand his attention to their surroundings. It was a safety precaution after all, plus he'd much rather not be taken by surprise.

  • Skylar stayed silent as they walked through the village. She didn't have anything to say and didn't feel like speaking. She knew that she had family in the next town that they could rest with for a little bit before leaving once more. She didn't know where they would stop but knew it would be longer than she hoped. The Zashi would be after them for a while and knew that they wouldn't be able to stay anywhere long. Sky stayed close to Tomoe and her eyes moved around them as they walked. She was on alert just as she knew he would be. She was still scared but didn't let it show. She hoped the journey to the next town would be quicker than it was to get to the current town they were leaving.

  • Tomoe didn't cast a single glance towards Skylar as he continued to focus his attention on his surroundings. The silence however he found was calming though such a thing was odd considering the things he had just done to his victims within the inn; this was something he was accustomed to after all. His gaze focused upon the plain path ahead leading back into the miles stretch of wilderness, unsettled and completely open with barely any covering of trees. This was something that Tomoe didn't like. Considering everything, he'd much rather not have to cross an open plain with the irritated thought coming to mind of, If you were more careful this wouldn't have had to happen. A short huff of breath escaped him at the thought knowing fully well yet again it was his actions that no doubt would cause problems. His eyes narrowed ever so slightly as he looked over his shoulder almost back towards the direction of the town they were in before, slightly regretting the violent actions he had taken. Yet another will pay the price... A grim expression then crossed his face at the thought but instead of focusing upon it he had instead focused ahead.

  • Skylar stayed silent and stared ahead watching the sun slowly set. She glanced over to Tomoe every once in a while to make sure he was still ok. She was worried about him and about what they were going to do. They couldn't keep going forever. She also didn't know what to do with what he had done. It hadn't really settled in until they started to leave town and she went blank that he had killed many people in the last couple of days. Sky didn't know how to react. She knew he was protecting them but she couldn't help but think that there could have been another way. A frown settled on her lips and there were mixed emotions in her eyes. She didn't speak of anything and kept it all in her head. Soon the sun had set and the moon was out and high in the sky.

  • As the late noon faded to night, Tomoe was already beginning to slow his pace as the medicine he had taken earlier was beginning to wear off, though as he had begun to notice the pain going through him only then had he murmured and broke the silence, "We should rest before continuing on." Though he'd much rather continue forward without stopping, his condition was limiting him and he knew his limits and if he tried to push past them it certainly wouldn't be pleasant.

  • When Tomoe spoke Skylar looked over and stared for a moment before nodding. "That would be a good idea." She spoke softly. She turned and looked around for somewhere where they would be hidden but could comfortably lay. She found a spot about fifteen feet into the woods from the path and pulled off her backpack. She set it on the ground and pulled out the blankets and pillows. Sky set up the bed but didn't lay down. She moved away from it and leaned against the tree as if silently saying that she would take the first watch.

  • Tomoe hesitated as soon as he saw her lean against the tree, clearly readily about to protest however he would not... at least not this time. There was no point in arguing, especially since it would draw attention if they were being followed. And so he began preparing the medicine he needed for himself, his gaze distinctly focused upon the task at hand as he seemed oddly uncharacteristically agreeable at the moment, but judging by his facial expression it was due to deep thought though as he finished preparing the bitter tea he needed and swallowed it down quickly, he had then put it aside only to say after a few moments in a quiet tone, "If there's anything in the slightest bit suspicious, wake me up immediately." There was no stubborn grumbling that he usually would do or any irritation.. just oddly a calmness about him at least for the moment as he too went through one of the bags and pulled out the blanket within and promptly laying down and pulling the blanket over him, his back turned to her. Yet Tomoe's gaze was focused ahead for a few moments before exhaustion overtook him as he then fell asleep.

  • Skylar watched Tomoe as he made his tea. She was surprised he didn't protest or mumble anything to myself in irritation. She thought it was because he was tired and ignored it. She had zoned out for a minute but was pulled back by his voice. "Ok." She spoke quietly and watched him. She frowned seeing him face away from her. Sky worried that he was upset with her but tried not to focus on it. She looked up and watched the moon slowly move in the sky as the time slowly passed. A little while later she heard a rustling and her head snapped to the side. She slowly stood and looked over to the bush with her heart racing. Sky then relaxed with a small sigh seeing it was only a squirrel which ran up a tree. She turned and looked towards the path and slowly made her way towards it. She wanted to make sure there was no one making there way towards them. She stepped out on to the path and looked around seeing no one. She looked up clearly at the moon and stars once more.

  • Tomoe didn't stir, having been too exhausted to pay much attention to the world around him at the moment which was a very rare occurance for him considering he always usually was aware of the world around him. Though this was partially because he was locked within a memory of the past... his more innocent past to be precise... which quickly grew dark. His eyes opened quickly as he stared ahead in silence, though with the sweat beading his forehead he then let out a sigh as he closed his eyes, his brow furrowing. …Just.. a nightmare.. hmph. Haven't had one in so long.. His eyes opened slightly as he then pulled the blanket tighter around himself though to no avail, it did not provide him much peace of mind. Sitting up, he glanced around though seeing Skylar wasn't there made him pause though glancing towards the nearby path his expression relaxed slightly as he could recognize the footprints. Yet as he sat there in silence, he could not help but feel unwilling to go back to sleep; a huff of breath escaping his lips in slight irritation though he leaned his head back and focused upon the sounds of the forest around him, his eyes half closing as he listened carefully to anything unusual but the silence managed to soothe his nerves ever so slightly.

  • Skylar stayed on the path for a few minutes longer as she relaxed her mind if only temporary. She knew she had to go back to make are Tomoe wouldn't wake and worry of her. Her mind was then filled once more of the events and she drowned in it. She walked back and looked over seeing Tomoe still laying still. She went to the tree she had sat against and returned to her position. Sky watched the path and their surrounds once more. She kept her mind focused on the task and tried not to think of anything else, especially sleep. She wanted to make sure that Tomoe got as much as possible. She pulled her legs up to her chest and wrapped her arms around them. A shiver ran through her body as the wind picked up some, sending cold air towards them.

  • Tomoe heard her approach, though his eyes narrowed as he listened carefully to see if she was being followed only to relax as soon as he didn't sense anything. After all, he was still remaining cautious. Though when he felt the cold breeze he had to suppress a sigh, he knew fairly well that Skylar was stubborn and would no doubt continue to be on watch if he didn't say anything, so sitting up his head turned slightly towards Skylar, "You should rest now, I can stay awake and continue watching for anything." Though as he straightened up, he did notice her shiver in which he sighed, though the faintest of smiles crossed his face as he added, "I don't need you getting sick either. Come." Clearly unlike other times this was an open invitation for her to be next to him, clearly not minding her closeness at all now unlike before but then again considering everything beforehand it wasn't necessarily unusual that he would allow her to lay next to him. Besides, there was a faint bit of concern in his gaze no doubt serious about not wanting her to catch a cold.

  • Skylar looked over to Tomoe seeing he was awake now. She bit her lip and frowned when he spoke of her resting instead of him. Though now the thought of sleep made her tired. She was about to speak when she saw his small smile and he invited her over to him. She couldn't help the small smile that pulled at her lips. She was surprised by his sudden change in moods before and after his sleep. Sky didn't protest this time as she got up. She moved to Tomoe and laid down. She pulled the covers over her and looked up at Tomoe. "Don't let me sleep too long." She spoke before letting oh a soft yawn. Her eyes grew heavy as she laid next to him though didn't touch. She shivered once more and instantly moved her body so she was against his. Sky laid her head in his lap and closed her eyes. Feeling him once more made her relax from whatever stress she had as she slowly fell asleep. It didn't take long before soft breaths left her lips. One hand rested on his leg while she slept.

  • Tomoe nodded his head at her words though as soon as she had fell asleep his expression further relaxed though he turned his gaze to focus ahead of him as he thought, …Its.. childish of me to need her next to me to be able to calm down fully... A frown crossed his face as he shoved the all too recent nightmare that had taken hold of him as one of his arms gently pulled Skylar closer and pulled the blanket more securely over her, his gaze flickering down at her face for a few moments, though just having her near had managed to soothe his nerves and calm him completely as he turned his gaze away from her yet again as his gaze scanned the forest around them in silence.

  • Skylar smiled in her sleep feeling Tonoe pull her closer. She slept peacefully in the night and surprisingly didn't have any nightmares of the day. She stirred a few times but never woke from her deep sleep. She was exhausted during the walk towards the next city. She couldn't wait to get to the next city, she had a sister there that they could stay with. The city was the capital so it was much larger than the last. Sky was anxious walking through the last city, she didn't know what she would do if she got lost in the capital. She knew where her sister lived, she had been there once with her family and it was easy to find. She just didn't want to get lost in the crowd and have an anxiety attack. She hoped her sister and her husband didn't parade her with questions but knew they probably would.
