  • "N-Nothing." Jay said, obviously flustered. How would he explain what he was thinking without coming off awkward? He decided it was best to just try and cover it up.

  • Jay opened his mouth but hesitated. He just nodded and looked away. He couldn't possibly know if any of this was dating anyway. He never seen any of it, only heard of it. He couldn't possibly know what he was feeling anyway.

  • Gale smiled then and went back to looking out at the park. It really was nice at night. And he was glad he was with Jay. "Hey," he said softly, nudging Jay with his elbow.

  • Gale blinked. "I dunno, actually," he answered after a moment. "I've never been on one." He noticed Jay's blushing and had to bite back a smile.

  • "Y-You've seen them haven't you?" He continued to look down, too embarrassed to look at him. He stayed quiet for a moment before asking, "Does this count as one?"

  • Gale stared at him for a second. This boy was asking him if this was a date. How endearing was that? Smiling slightly, he rested a hand on Jay's back. "If you want it to be a date," he began quietly, "then it's a date."

  • "Well, I guess you go out together and have fun and um." Gale paused, gathered his courage, and added, "and maybe kiss at the end. If you really like them." He gave a little shrug, cheeks dusted pink.

  • "As long as you want," Gale answered, with a small smile. He didn't want to pressure Jay and secretly, he hoped that this would be a date.

  • "Okay, no problem. I'll see you later." Gale rested his hand on Jay's shoulder affectionately. He knew he'd mentioned an after-date kiss, but he didn't want to push it by asking for one.

  • Jay leaned forward some and kissed Gale's cheek. He blushed a bright red. "I-I promise the next date will be more fun.".

  • Gale was sure that his ears were red by now. He couldn't stop grinning like an idiot at the kiss. "Yeah, um, for sure," he stammered, touching his cheek as though holding the memory of the kiss. "I can't wait to see you again."

  • Jay smiled at him, letting out a soft giggle. "I cant either. Maybe next time it can actually be like one of those real dates." He checked the watch. He was really pushing it. "I-I'll text you later. Don't text me as soon as you get home. They'll find it if you do.".

  • Gale frowned slightly at that, but nodded anyway. Jay's parents must've been really strict. "Okay. No problem. I'll see you later, yeah?"

  • "Definitely." Jay smiled at him. "Maybe next time you'll get an actual kiss." He teased with a giggle. He started to make his way out of the park, grinning as he waved goodbye to Gale. Once he was out of sight, he started to sprint back. They would check him any minute now and he wasnt back yet. God, they were really gonna chew him out for it.

  • Gale waved back cheerfully and then stood there for a minute, struck dumb with Jay's answer. A real kiss. He grinned at the thought of it. He couldn't believe that out of all the places, he'd met a perfect boy in an alleyway in the city. How lucky was that? Humming to himself happily, he started to head for home himself.
