  • [justify]He hadn't plans for the day, none at all, but that led him to a problem. With nothing to do, what could he do to help Blizzardclan? But ah, he knew of something, something that would be helpful, a patrol on the border looking out for exiles would help, right? Well, he had assumed it would. After all, it wasn't like the exiles weren't being a bother lately, and besides, perhaps if they took notice that some guy with electricity bouncing off him was here, they might choose to stay away. Or so, he had hoped.

It had taken place on the stairs, or at least, at the top of the stairs. He had come across a loner, or so they portrayed them to be, and had requested name and business. When they hadn't given him their name and business however, he had requested for them to leave, but oh it appeared they had other plans for him. It appeared they even know of his powers, perhaps having even watched him for some time before then though, which seemed to lead to their idea of simply giving him a shove. Down the stairs. And with that shove, the apprentice could probably be found in a broken heap in front of the main floating island, lifelessly lying on the ground, his faint yellow gaze staring ahead, no glow escaping any longer.

"MERDE!" Francis arrived at the border soon after, having been tracking Matthew down for another training session. He found his scent at the bottom of the stairs. That was interesting news, as he wouldn't take the sha creature to be one to explore BlizzardClan's old territory. But what he witnessed was even worse.

His apprentice's body lying in the snow. There wasn't any blood, but it was like being punched in the gut for someone like Francis, who had never had anyone close to him die before. What did he say? That he'd always fight by Matthew's side in battle? And now he was dead. If Francis hadn't been so lazy and slacked off on their sessions, his apprentice might have been able to defend himself.

The peacock pretty much leaped off the stone stairs, wings carrying him surprisingly far for being numb, and landing on the ground with a small 'thump'. Just like the sound Matthew's body would have made when he fell, which he obviously did. "Merde, merde, merde..." he muttered, wide eyes flicking over his form for some signs of life. Fuck, fuck, fuck. "Celui qui l'a tué, je vais violer ce bâtard!" Whoever killed him, I will rape that bastard!

The moment she heard his voice Lacelock tore across the territory in an attempt to find him, her ears and nose guiding her in the right direction. She had expected to find something awful but this... this was a lot more than she was prepared for. "Matthew? Wha...?" The steps... The damn steps had been what killed Pastelpaw too. "What the fuck?" Why did everyone have to die like this? Why weren't her Clanmates ever safe, even in their own territory? She couldn't be everywhere, she couldn't protect everyone at once... It wasn't logical and she knew that but... I can't do anything. I can't save anyone.

    "Matthew... Go in peace."[/fancypost]

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; border: none; width: 500px; font-size: 8pt; line-height:160%; text-align: justify;]Whitepaw had never liked Matthew anyway, but... Now he was dead. That was one more dead body to count up after all the NPC deaths during Exile raids. He swallowed hard, and approached Francis, having heard the Auxillary Paladin cry out. He looked down at Mattie's lifeless, motionless body, his eyes downcast. Even though the two of them had never been friends, he supposed that he could put all that aside and just mourn his death for a few days. "Francis..." He began to say, not looking up. "I'm sorry for your loss. I really am." Whitepaw felt as if Francis was the closest one to Matthew here.

wisteriapaw didn't know matthew all that well. just that he was there, and the electricity that came off of him was cool. she was tempted, a few times, to bend that electricity. but she wouldn't do it for the sake of not knowing the young tom all that well. it would be awkward, to say the least. still, despite this, the fem felt saddened for his death, especially with how it seemed to be executed. "rest in piece, matt." she hummed, growing a small daisy. joey, who had scampered up beside her, took the flower and placed it on the mangled body.

She had never heard.. him sound so frantic. That.. That alone, had been enough to fill her with dread. She bit down on her bottom lip, trying her best to brace herself, as she approached. She tried her best to hold herself together, and to keep herself from breaking, at the sight of his body.

But he was there. Matthew was there. His body lay, broken, at the bottom of the steps. "M-Matthew..?" Tama would stammer, ashen oculars widening, slightly. She went, to reach out to his body, to touch his shoulder lightly - but he was cold. The warmth of his body had already ebbed from him.. He was.. He was gone. "Matthew.." The servaline bit down on her bottom lip, squeezing her eyes shut, and hung her head in her fore-paws, hoping that such would help the tears subside, as they gathered and spilled from her optics.

  • He stood on the stairs, staring down at the broken body with wet eyes, but he didn't allow his emotions to take control. He didn't have the right to cry over Matthew while Francis was around. They were friends, sure, but he believed Francis was the one who needed support right now. It had been his apprentice, for God's sake, and he knew Matthew respected and liked his mentor. He shook his head, vowing silently that if he ever came across Matthew murderer that he'd return the favour and turned around, silently walking back towards the main island with his ears flat on his skull. He'd cry tonight, when no one could hear him.

Only one question remained: Why Matthew?

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=transparent; borderwidth=; width:400px; text-align:justify; color: solid grey; font-size:8pt; font-family: verdana;]
Francis seemed to be screaming constantly in BlizzardClan. Whenever something bad happened, his shriek could be heard from a different Clan. His mind reeled, twitching his ears at the sound of Whitepaw's condolences, but didn't respond. Wow... was this was it was like to have someone die? This complete shutdown and emotional breaking? Francis stared at the broken body with wide eyes, then narrowed them in anger. I was in charge of him, I was his mentor, right? And...

"It's all my fault!" he burst out, but he seemed to have more fury than grief. "So I will kill whoever did this!" he raged, forgetting the fact that he was completely incapable of killing anything. He stared down at Matthew's body, too afraid to touch it. It was so still, not even electricity crackling around him. It seemed sacred. Francis' eyes finally began to water. He glared around himself and sprung roses from the ground, all around Matthew's body, but not touching him. "I will be back." the peacock hissed, stalking towards the borders of the territory. Hopefully their scent was still there.

This wasn't good at all. "Francis!" Tama would call, bringing herself to stand, once again. Francis was breaking. This was all evidence enough for that. She couldn't let him.. lose himself like this. He seemed to have already left, however, and Tama bit down on her bottom lip, fictional brows knitting. Her following words were hushed, possibly directed more to herself, than to reach the ears of another. "It isn't your fault.." But, of course he would have blamed himself for it, right? That wasn't fair, at all. It wasn't anyone's fault: if it were anyone's fault, then the blame should be shared equally among them, as Matthew's clanmates and comrades. The only person who deserved to be burdened with the blame, was the person that Francis was planning on killing, now.
